I replaced all the o rings for the ps pump and res. I filled it up with the recommended ps fluid. But I don’t think I had enough fluid. The steering is making a weird noise now.. kinda like vibration. Why is that? I put everything back together and in the right spot too. What do you think?

Thanks to your videos I have diagnosed several of my 2005 9-3 Aero Convertible 2.0T b207r issues and now know what was causing the leak... have you got the part numbers for all the seals needed to complete this repair as I am struggling to find them in the UK?? Thanks for all the informative Saab 9-3 content, keep up the good work

I did the same in my car last week, but it's an trifuel so all the system for the cng or what to call it, are sitting right there, so had a lot of problem getting the lower bolt out 😁

What did you do to get the hard seal removed (the one you replaced by using the socket to hammer down on it)? I heard that's a pain to remove.
@AutoAutopsy
@AutoAutopsy 2 года назад
A metal pick. If you can puncture the seal a little you can kind of carefully dig it out!

What’s the best way to extract the power steering fluid from the reservoir?

I replaced the two seals at the power steering pump because the engine was leaking oil in the power steering resevoir. Now, all the hydralic fluid ends up in the engine oil instead, and i have an engine full of power steering fluid, and an empty resevoir. Any idea of what to do?
@mcdonald2037
@mcdonald2037 4 года назад
In between the reservoir and the pump there's a small seal that connects them you gotta unclip it clean it check the seals or follow the trail there's a small gasket in between them
@TheCHRISintheMIX
@TheCHRISintheMIX 4 года назад
@@mcdonald2037 I have also replaced that one. There are no leaks, all the power steering fluid ends up inside the engine

How come you did changed the seals and not the fluid? Sure it helps to solve the leaking problem but you still got engine oil in the steering system, humm.
@AutoAutopsy
@AutoAutopsy 4 года назад
We replaced what we could of the fluid; there’s no way to drain power steering fluid from the car.
@vjamie69
@vjamie69 3 года назад
If you're getting oil in the power steering is it just seals or is it that I need a new pump? Thanks in advance for any knowledge you can offer!
@AutoAutopsy

I'd start with just the seals like this

Recently, I had misfired issue, I changed all spark plugs, ICM ( Ionizatioin Control Module ), Front Oxygen Sensor as well as Ignition coil packs, but I still have the check engine light on.... I also find out that there is a huge smell of gasoline when my 2006 Saab 9-3 2.0T is turned on / idol. Do you what went wrong ??? About 2 years ago, I had the same problems ( coolant T-connector & power steering oil leak ) before. I bought the coolant T-connector with hoses complete costed me about $35- but just replaced the T-connector. For the Power Steering oil leak, the leak was from the vacuum pump ( silver color ), and replaced by my Saab mechanic.

Is there a way to check if the mileage of a Saab 9-3 is genuine? I'm looking to buy one, but where I live people that sell them usually import the cars from other countries and roll back the mileage. Can this be done with the Tech2 or some other cheaper (if possible) tool?
@AutoAutopsy

as far as i know, it's not possible
