Prokofiev and Shostakovich at the Mariinsky Concert Hall (Postcard 31 from St Petersburg) 

Having already visited the Mariinsky "Old Stage" to see Marius Petipa's "Don Quixote" and the "Mariinsky 2" to see Igor Stravinsky's "Wedding" and "Firebird", now was the time to visit the remaining part of the Mariinsky, the Mariinsky Concert Hall, to hear the fifth symphony of one of Leningrad's finest composers, Dmitry Shostakovich, as well as some extracts from Sergey Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet (he also graduated from the St Petersburg Conservatory).
