Im not doing this for money. Just a fan of the book and enjoy the process of making these videos. always @White Bat Audio Tear of Fears - Everybody Wants To Rule The World (instrumental)
Do you honestly trust Hollywood to treat this story with the respect it deserves? I'd love to get a miniseries, but I know how it would go. Unnecessary race/sex swaps, strong female lead who dominates her male counterparts, and all the other virtue signaling bullshit.
It would need to be a multi part mini series. you would have to go 100% big scale with real scenes and minimum CGI to do it any justice. Think BOB, The Pacific, etc..
so i got the audio book because of this series. and i gotta say this guys voice and the book it self are absolutely fantastic. the quality or writing and the knowledge in 1990s when it was released is insane. no regrets, best audio book ive ever bought.
I listen to the audio book about every two years or so. These videos are awesome and I truly thank you for creating them. I am an old school Cold War buff and scale modeler. This fits right in. Thanks and Cheers 🍻
Your videos explode with talent! I am so happy I found your channel way back whenever that was. Foget shaking your hand: if I met you? I'd give you a hug!
I love these; you really do a great job, and I keep looking forward to more of them. Time on Target was most excellent, as was Dance of the Vampires. I also enjoyed the Buns one. Thank you.
This book became a focal point in both my PC gaming, board games and GHQ and C in C miniatures battles. It’s been a life long love affair since then. Fly high Tom Clancy.
I hated this book...I read it in two days, glued to it. A true "page turner". I got nothing done that weekend and I was hooked on Tom Clancy, eventually checking in to the Tom Clancy Wing of the Betty Ford Clinic to "dry out". Great video...really well done.
Having recently listened to the Red Storm Rising audiobook (apparently by the same narrator) I certainly would love to watch a high quality series based on that book.
Amazing work, always love the RSR stuff. Did you use AI to create extra narration? It's been a while since I read the book but I couldn't remember the Afghanistan bit, whereas dreamland and dance are burned in my mind.
The events of RSR were triggered by Muslim extremists starting a refinery and oilfield fire. And an opportunistic KGB deputy director if memory serves.
Yes! Do the whole damn book and turn it into a movie! I wanted "Hollywood" do finally put its CGI to this book since it was written but nah....Disneys gotta Disney. For the ground combat sequences i suggest you look at Steel Beasts the wargame sim, it might work better than DCS. Dcs is great for airplane stuff. Keep going, your work is much appreciated....
As a 57 year old man I remember reading this book well. Great story! I, also, wish that you could make a full movie! Maybe a Patreon account could help persuade you?
Another great part, amazing work. Quality in 4k is fantastic. when do you stitch it all together? Have you touched base with Clancy foundation for help?.. Not sure who has ownership of RSR rights but its the book thats crying to to be made right... by Nolan with a Zimmerman sound track...
I congratulate you on your work and thoroughly enjoy the results of all your efforts. I have read Red Storm Rising about 9 - 10 times and still go back to my tattered copy when I feel the need. Would love this to be produced as a full length movie. Is there somewhere I can go to get all the videos so far produced in numerical order?
oh and the though that the decisions of just 5 men can change the course of the world and throw it into chaos... more terrifying than any horror movie...
However the final cut of this video ends up playing out PLEASE keep the tears for fears/afghan opening. It’s one of the shining moments in your videos. Especially when the guitar riff starts playing as the Candids take off. Reminded me how awesome that song is. It does a great job setting the stage for the story.
Excellent work again! I remember this news broadcast from when it happened, but where did you get the Michael Pritchard audio clip? I don't remember that from the book.
Hey this is some fantastic work! A word of advice, you might wanna try using some non-stock fonts for the title cards--it would greatly help the overall vibe of the video! You can try condensed fonts like "Schabo condensed" for the location & time cards, and mono fonts like AO mono or Roboto mono for large text blocks at the start. They're all completely free fonts! Making the opening paragraphs of text narrower would also great help with readability. looking forward to seeing more
Ive gotta read them first. Im like 3/4 of the way through Executive Order. Then im planning on reading the bear and the dragon then onto a couple of larry bonds books. Kind of in search for other projects too. But so far nothing hits like Red Storm.
I hate to say it but that projects a bit stalled. Ive said this before some things you just have to do when you get the vision and the passion. It will return but some things you just gotta do for the love of it. I would no do these things to try and scrape the money... Unless some producer picked me up for a Red Storm series 🤔.. OK that would be the only reason.. Otherwise I do these for fun.
Im working on Executive Order currently. Have kicked out The Hunt, The Cardinal, Debt and Rainbow Six. Working up to the Bear and the Dragon. So far there's some cool stuff out of Debt of Honor but my limitations using DCS world and that assets I couldn't do a terrible lot. So far nothing hits quite like Red Storm. I think after I finish Bear and the Dragon Ill look into Larry Bonds Selection OR kick out Threat Vector. Clancy's books are quite long winded with the set up so far.
It's a good book and all but the thing that stretches my disbelief is that the Politburo decided a Third World War with NATO, to prevent them from intervening in the Soviet conquest of the Middle East, was a better course of action than simply rationing energy or buying energy on the world market or doing some weapons for oil deals with Iran or Iraq who are still fighting a war.
I'm into it. Very compelling, Audio mix a little unbalanced at times, when the main narrator comes in the music needs to drop a bit more, my two-penneths
Excellent work, love the series. However in this one I'd suggest adding a little more content regarding why NATO needed to be attacked. At the meeting on the seizure of the Middle east reserves, came the discussion of NATO countering the Middle East attack. Your narrative here is a little sparse on that. Just another 1 or 2 lines of dialogue would make it more cohesive.
ONE STEP. It only took ONE STEP for a Soviet soldier to cross from the USSR into Afghanistan. ONLY ONE STEP. And still, they couldn't win. . The Red Army may be magnificent when defending Mother Russia. But when it comes to fighting a war under any other circumstance, they are lost.
