FYI CWOFF I am recommending to all our new recruits 45 in the newest intake, to watch your videos for tips and hints, thanks for all the good work.. Any chance you could organise a video on male grooming and dress standards, if you can get a suitable volunteer to help you out.

Thankyou for the time and effort you put into these videos, more cadets should watch these to get a grip on things when starting. I will go for the NCO position soon in 801 SQN, hope to use the tips as help to get me in there and to the next rank. Thankyou.

Do you have any tips on how to gain the confidence to step up as a leader? The CUO and a few NCOs at my squadron have advised/ recommended me to consider going on JN's but I'm honestly a really quiet person xD (I'm from 2 wing btw and love your videos, they've helped a lot
@harryhoban6819
@harryhoban6819 3 года назад
I'd say ask your SECO if there's any parts of their job they'd be happy for you to do. Doing those little things will help you gain experience and confidence in leadership and give you a taste of what it's like to be an NCO so you can see if it's something you're really interested in

Thankyou so much this really helped, I’m going on a JNCO cource at the end of this month and I was wondering how you achieve all excellent on your PA ( personal attributes) or majority of them underlining you have achieved an excellent ?
@harryhoban6819
@harryhoban6819 3 года назад
That would be almost impossible to do, most people will only get one or two standard exceeded PAs and on my JNs only half of people got any standard exceeded PAs. That being said you'll get a sheet that says exactly what the PA is and that's what they're looking for, so really just memorise those attributes and try to show them wherever possible. Although you don't need any standard exceeded to pass the course, and doing well on your PAs doesn't make you more likely to dux, it's really just a personal achievement thing.

@harryhoban6819

Working consistently is key, the skills you need to pass each course can't be built in the month before you go, so making sure you're always working to improve yourself will mean that when you get to the courses you're able to apply yourself and pass

Do you have any tips on doing MI's on SNCO's? I'm going in Jan and quite confused haha
@Jonesy1701
@Jonesy1701 Год назад
Probably too late but practise. That's all it is. You first demonstrate the movement, break it down explaining each step and aspects of each step, have them do each step adding one step each time, then to your timing, then have them call the time, judging the time, then correct words of command. And fault correct throughout.

@inderjitsidhu2256

Sir/Ma’am (dont want to assume) I was wondering why you chose to become a CWOFF instead of a CUO I am im the 323 squadron and was wondering
@harryhoban6819
@harryhoban6819 3 года назад
I chose CWOFF because I preferred the leadership style. As a CUO you do a lot of longer term and bigger picture planning and it's pretty much the same with your leadership where it's more detached from the cadets and in the background whereas as a CWOFF you're interacting with all your cadets and developing your NCOs more personally, especially as being sqnwoff puts you in charge of all the flight commanders, it's also a fair bit organising people to do tasks under time pressure which I actually enjoy. And while CUOs can do all that mentoring and development stuff and most will, I just prefer getting in there and doing it rather than planning it out in advance and getting someone else to do it. However, looking back if I had to pick again I'd go CUOs just cause I'm not keen enough on drill and discipline for cwoffs, going into the course I thought I could make it through cause I was good at it but you really need to have a passion for it and I felt a bit out of depth on course cause everyone else there seemed to read the afdcman before they went to bed and practice sword drill in their spare time, like most CWOFFs really eat breathe and sleep drill, and that meant I fell behind on all my drill assessments because everyone else was just doing drill way more and knew way more theory because of their love for it. And also what I was keen on was classroom teaching which is more of a CUOs thing. That's not to say I don't like drill but I'm just not as keen on it as most other CWOFFs in the wing are.

Thank you so much. I am not the fittest person out there but I really am trying, I am. I am in year 6 and in year 7 and I will be joining no matter what, I try my hardest every single day to get fit. But nothing is working, but maybe if I keep trying and never give up I will get there.🎺🥁🎼👮🏻‍♂️❤️😔 and one day, I will make it to the TRG police department.❤️

@@matthewlindberg2844 Not sure if you have started cadets yet, I am from 703, there is a drum course, if you want to do that, this year at RAAF Base Pearce (There are other activities throughout the year too) there is a musicians/band course as-well at Pearce at the same time, but I am unsure If you're able to nominate for it this year, or if they would have other activities through out the year.
