I walked downstairs one day and saw a CD just sitting there. I asked my family who it belonged to and they had no idea. So I grabbed it and loaded it onto my Xbox 360. I've been a fan ever since
Saw Prong in Germany I. m gonna say the rude Awakening tour, they played in an unfinished nuclear reactor, fucking bad ass, their bass speakers were so loud that Everytime he hit a note your hair would fly back and half of your face too, All Hail PRONG
I remember when their debut album hit. No one else sounded like these guys. The guy who introduced me to them didn't even like metal but he took a chance and bought their album. Still listening all these years later and their sound hasn't felt dated once.
Prong's Cleansing CD has a permanent home in my car's CD changer...... Prong's music never gets old.....you're not a true metal fan unless you have Cleansing in your rotation of music.....just sayin
It kills me that this awesome band never got the props it deserved. Prong was mixing crunchy guitars with industrial drum beats WAY before it was the cool thing to do. Btw, if yer uninitiated. Cleansing is the Prong album to own.
+riffgroove Agreed, I'm a long time fan, one of the few bands of which I've never grown tired. Rude Awakening is a fantastic album too and is a close second to Cleansing in my book, but different just like every Prong album. New album X-No Absolutes out Feb 5th!
+riffgroove u are dead on riff. prong is a band that never got the fame they deserved. I drove a 100 miles just to buy their first album. It was worth it.
Oh I love you Tommy Victor singer of PRONG! 😎 I saw y'all in San Antonio last year & got a CD, photo with you 😉 I really love the lyrics to NO ABSOLUTE! Very talented and very unique. Come back to SAN Antonio please!
That fucking surf caster is so damn sick. I love those guitars and it fits perfectly with Tommy’s style at the time. I loved this era and how he would dress with 70’s swag and made it heavy as fuck.
instant classic , great riffs , great vocals , one of if not theyre best song , ya'll should check out the singers featuring with soulfly called lethal injection awesome stuff
They just were always underrated, big time. They switched over to thrash metal or just metal now in 1990 with my fav album, Beg To Differ, before that they were a different kind of music and it wasn't to good, so maybe that's why they always were overlooked I really don't know but it's criminal.
alot of prongs riffs sound easy to play but damnit its just not true. I dont someone that can chunk like he does what sounds backwards and off time and sing....not easy. got to meet Tommy and hang out for a little with him when my band opened the Testament/Prong show in Reno years ago. totally cool ass guy. saw him months later at N.A.M.M. and he remembered me. meant the world to me especially since my first band when I was like 17 we covered a Prong song Steady Decline. then 25 some years later I got to open for them and meet him. pretty cool for this fool will never forget it. thanks Tommy
This version absolutely kicks major CA$$H - It sounds like a remix - it is cooler, longer, more guitar pinch harmonics and more atmospheric than the version I remember on my copy of "CLEANSING" - major props to the remixer/producer
Definitely their defining album. I like it way better than beg to differ. Anyone checked out carved into stone? The only one I've heard that rivals cleansing.
