honestly I dont think musicians go into creating their sound and songs with any intentions of ripping someone off. have you ever been in a band? ive been in many never does anyone sit around saying we should sound like them@@jeffwolfe4058
The Fathers of groove Metal 🤘🏻 this band and Helmet influenced Pantera and change Metal forever. Prong is a very underrated band, Tommy Victor is a fucking genius!
@@E.C.2 only thing is there are multiple doubled guitar tracks. So it sounds like more than one guitarist on the recordings. It's different live. Their albums sound super thick because of the multilayered guitar tracks all played by 1 man.
Prong should be huge, they are like the King's X of hardcore thrash. Meaning, everyone loves them but somehow have escaped massive commerical success. Tommy is a riff master.
Just saw Prong with sepultura and testament this weekend. Prong blew me away. I was lucky enough to meet Tommy after the show. Nicest guy ever. Got a picture with him. Will definitely see them again if they come to Orlando
I serisoulsy listen and seen every band but didn't figure out who Prong was until 7 years ago??? Friends metal friends opening for him looked at my like WTF then haven't stopped and Tommy Victor is the coolest dude walking the earth!!!!! Amazing live!!!! I don't know why it took me that long....and they should be right at the top!!!!
Its so great to see so many positive comments about this band. Tommy Victor is Prong - Prong is Tommy Victor! My first band "Terrormony" covered "PrimeCut" when I was in high school. Some 20 years later on the other side of U.S. my band "Envirusment" got to open the show for Prong and Testament. Was a dream never dreamt cause it was to unobtainable to even humor the thought. but it happened and that 16 yr. old kid in me was flipping the fuck out. Tommy was so fucking cool to me. hung out with him for a little bit and still hard to believe. Gave him our cd as he crawled into the back of his van and he gave me a hug and said I love you dude. then I see him at N.A.M.M. event and he saw me and yelled out "Hey Reno" we chatted for a minute and then life pulled in other directions. off I went off he went. Ill never forget meeting one of my musical heroes. Wherever you are Tommy...thank you brother for being so kind.
I had the pleasure of hanging out with Tommy, Troy and Ted on this tour at their hotel room in 1992 in Atlanta. Just me and my friend Troy Andersen, Tommy and Troy Gregory just shooting the breeze till dawn. Good times
prong is one of my all time favorites. to me the best of thrash/groove metal examples out there and their sound doesn't sound old at all. timeless classic!
Yea, I got "Prove You Wrong" after I saw a poster on the wall of this little place called The Cannery in Nashville. I remember the moment I first heard the intro. Funny how you lock onto certain memories. Great album.
Man Tommy is the Coolest most down to earth man to walk the earth!!! Couldn't have been luckier to see him live but even meet him....and he sent me a message congratulating me for graduating college!!!! I still can't believe it!!! \m/
I saw Prong in the early 90's at a small club here in Baltimore. Hung out with Tommy in the basemof said club and ate pizza. The drummer walked me and my sister to the car and kissed her hand as we left.
I'm so glad I found this band about 5 years ago. I'm pretty sure I just stumbled across Snap Your Fingers and I was instantly hooked. Probably the best underground metal band I've heard (Acid Bath is pretty close)
WOW! This seriously takes me back! Beg to differ was the first song and cd that i heard from prong. As a guitar player I immediately picked up on his abundant use of pinch harmonics in rythm parts. Loved the cd and when cleansing came out i was like this Victor guy is the king of guitar tone next to dimebag. Massively influenced me and my bands music at the time and i know many others as well during the 90's
Many many concerts. All your albums. Can't wait to see this amazing band yet again. One of those that have slipped through the cracks of Metal that's still around and prevailant.
I was at a concert of them, INCREDIBLE! It was in 1993, just after listening to some of their albums ... and THEY KICKED ASS ... LIVE!!! One of the best Live Concerts I EVER listened! I´ll never forget ...
I only remember these guys from the Airheads soundtrack, turns out there is about 30 years of stuff i need to listen to from them. A new side quest! Schizophrenia metal compilation channel brought me here. Search 2 hours groove metal. Will change your life.
One of the best gigs I ever went to was promoting the album that this song was from at the Krazyhouse in Liverpool (UK). Utter carnage, stage diving a plenty and left extremely sweaty and with shirt completely shredded Prong are one of the few metal/hardcore bands I listened to back then who I can still listen to and enjoy
you are absolutely right I agree with you Prong was great I was right in front of Tommy he kicked ass Same for him playing with Steve and Glenn Great show.
Tommy Victor has written so many influential riffs that still inspire me. cant believe I shared a stage with this guy. fried my brains out to this album so many times. one of the most unique dudes in metal. and Wayne static.
Saw these guys with Helmet a couple years ago in NYC. Absolutely killer show. Got to hang out after with both bands and it was one of the coolest times in my life. All of them down to earth and very friendly. Art Cruz was drummer for Prong but was soon with Lamb of God. He is a beast!
Man!! Yea! Tommy Victor RULES!! I mean he IS PRONG. Period. Unconditional man!!!! I'm from Tx, Austin, and this dude rules! No other greater singer/songwriter/guitarist out there!!! I mean the guy knows his stuff!!! He's been a sound man at CBGB's, obviously can play guitar with a unique style like no otherl.. F man!! Tommy is a master man! No two ways about it I know my damn rock/metal ;) Austin, Tx Dennis
Love this band, I wish they were as still as huge here in the United States of America as they are in central Europe. They rock the stadium size venues and I love that I was able to meet so many incredible artists due to Prong. My brother, sister and me danced and jammed out to Gravity Kills that opened for Prong at a Kansas City venue in 1996.
Oh man....Memories from '90s.. Everyone at high school with Bon Jovi and such, and me as the parasite with Prong, Anthrax, SOD/MOD, Suicidal Tendencies, Sick of it All, etc.
