Nifty tool there. Looked like a clean job. Shouldn't leak now.

Great video! Even though the other lower unit disassembly videos have better quality and video work yours has way more valuable information. And visual information that is very helpful. Thanks.

Nice job there Michael. Just a word - perhaps of caution when doing any work around those needle bearings. Best to pack a rag or small paper towel over those bearings. You do not want to contaminate those bearings with grit or dirt while fussing with them seals.

Thanks, for sharing your knowledge with us. I've ordered the parts for my lower unit and will try to change the prop shaft seals without removing the carrier. I'm going to try the two screws and pry bar method.

One question for you, if I have to remove the Bearing Carrier, can I do it without removing the lower unit?

Nice video! Question: That grease zerk you mention @ 19:09, where does the grease go and when to grease it?
@thebasshunter
@thebasshunter Год назад
It goes to the back bearing in the lower unit. There is a bearing behind there.

@@antho7475 I'm sorry if I miss in formed you. I thought it greased the needle bearing that behind the two prop seal that I replace.
