I am just dipping my toes in racing on tracks and I feel like this board could form the basis for a solid race board (with street application). I am *never* going to be a serious racer and I won't need, nor can I justify, a stooge but I wonder if this might be a good "track" board, with sometimes street rides. Currently riding an Endeavor Pro on the track, and it's a really, really, not designed for tight turns. Of course, my lack of skill isn't helping but every time I see this board, this is where my train of thought goes. :)

This truck design with the bushing set up will lend you endless possibilities of tuning. I remember getting in it at Esk8con and taking turn one ( the one where everyone had a problem with) and it turned on a dime! It was set looser than I wanted for higher speeds but this trucks can do that for you. And for the price point it’s a very nice package.

Hey guys, Russ from Propel here, don't mind the screename, thats from one of my fishing profiles,lol Its funny because we originally aimed this as being a fast, stable street board but after getting it on the track at esk8con, we started looking at it a little differently. Race board? Why not, its got everything you need and can be configured for that track, that day. Now, don't get me wrong, there are boards made specifically and solely for racing with tiny batteries to reduce weight, big racing slick tires, etc but for the every day guy to get a taste of racing, this board is perfect. Plan to see Andy Facsko and a few others on them at next years races at Esk8con. Now that we are getting feedback from multiple reviewers, we are even looking at its light AT capabilities with an 8" knobby on it. Fun stuff

*Scientist is a vibe!* 🤟🏽⚡️🤙🏽⚡️🤟🏽 Board has such a nice subtle bounce to it, not saggy bounce, looks hella fun to carve. Nice drop so even with large wheels it's lower to the ground. Those trucks would have me tryin enough setups to last a lifetime 😂 so much customisability on trucks and via remote 👌🏽

Love the vibes haha, It does it’s not crazy flex like a bamboo could be, and you’re right being so low tot he found even with 175 mm is definitely nice! These trucks had me scratching my head bruv, it was so hard to wrap my mind around it at first but once we worked together to figure it out with propel it was a much better ride in my opinion. We even created new bushings for it as well.

Nice review drew, as ususal. Outstanding manoeuvrability for a board of this length ans weight. This truck system could be the best innovation this year in esk8 little world. Sunmate tyrers are not the best choice but it doesn't seem to be a problem on it. Continue like that, cheers from france ;-)

The propel design team consists of 2 award winning engineers from China (Red Dot recipients), myself from New England (now Florida) and Mike from Canada. The combination of their engineering expertise and our western culture input are what make Propel special in my opinion. Theres nothing cooler than giving these guys an idea and waking up the next morning to their version of your thought. They amaze me every time. Great video! Thanks for sharing. I have an Endeavor Pro 1 gen that I ride with bindings. That was my first esk8. On my board, I love the suspension/smooth ride and I love carving. I like hitting manhole covers and seeing if I can get all the wheels off the ground. I am strictly a road warrior always searching for smooth asphalt. I never go off road. I don’t like that the pro 1 takes two lanes of road to turn around and I’d assume that as much as I like carving hard, something like the Ruckus would be a huge step up. I’m really interested in the Ruckus, but wish I had the ability to try it before I buy it. I know the Endeavor and Ruckus are different but I would be curious how they compare. That would help me with this decision on getting one. Thanks again for the video!
@mikemenard4543
@mikemenard4543 29 дней назад
The first Endeavor Pro has the equivalent of the black bushings but even with both the Endeavor gen 1 and Ruckus with black bushings the Ruckus turns better and easier. I know because I directly compared this as soon as I got my Ruckus. The BVR’s deck angles also allow you to tilt more aggressively than you can on Endeavor. Overall, the Ruckus slots in pretty nicely between how the Pivot rides and behaves and how the Endeavor rides and behaves. However, because it’s so customizable you can dial it in to become more DKP-like and closer to the Pivot if you want or go the opposite end and closer to Endeavor if you want. The flex in the BVR deck is also nicely between the ride comfort of Pivot and Endeavor overall.

@@GeorgeJettson-cb5cjI haven’t personally tried grey front and black rear but on my DIY I did have different duro between front and rear for a similar reason. I know lots of Endeavor owners who also have a white or grey up front and black bushing in the rear of their Endeavors. There’s lots of potential to try a variety of combinations until you find something that feels ideal for you and how you ride. That’s kind of the whole point of Ruckus.

So they are two totally different boards. So it totally depends on you as the rider what you are looking for in a board. So what are your top priority when it comes to needs from your board? I’m new here and am caught between this board and the endeavor pro 2. I think I would like the suspension board but really wouldn’t use it as much as the on road ruckus. I’m thinking the ruckus for the more customizable remote and stability on road?…….
@DrewElia
@DrewElia 26 дней назад
Yeah, the ruckus is definitely an on road board. you can do some light off roading with it, but the trucks for the ruckus are not suspension like the endeavor pro 2 are, ive never ridden any of the other propel series of boards off roading, just around esk8con parking lot, but if you are primarily looking to do just streets, the ruckus is a great choice to be able to customize everything, ride feel, remote settings, belts and pulleys, its got it all. either way if you enjoy the content make sure to subscribe and like the video! also if you do end up picking up a board make sure to use my code to save a few bucks as well!!

Bro between this Ruckus and the NYX Z3 (4500W motors).... Which one felt better to you for very rough to medium rough terrain?? (Not fully off-road). Also which one felt best on smooth roads? I'm leaning towards the Z3 for my first board mainly for commuting and a bit of fun.... Cheers
@DrewElia
@DrewElia 27 дней назад
The ruckus isn’t really an off roading type of board. You’d be more inclined to try out different options from propel for off roading needs! hitting potholes and rough paved surface it’s totally fine, but not compared to off roading like the z3 does. The AT style tires will handle crumbled roads

The swapping of bushings takes a little more effort than normal trucks but worth it for heavier riders like myself to set up to the stiffer bushings. Ruckus is in some ways a hybrid between what we love about Endeavor (shock absorption and customization) and Pivot (Having the option to carve easily and fluidly when we want to. Ruckus is a middle point between both worlds and the customization allows someone to enjoy a DKP-like ride if they so desire or setup something closer to a black bushing Endeavor setup if they want that. Best of all buyers can switch between both of these extremes. In some cases at the click of a dial. Since people change in size, ride preference, mood, all the time it made sense to us to create a truck system that could change with them.

This is the first in the Ruckus series. 864wh combining with high discharge from Samsung 50S is a solid amount for many people for daily use and helps keep a board with a lot of R&D and proprietary design elements more affordable for more people around the world. In addition, it helps keep the weight below the 18kg mark. Even with the chassis armor on. We will launch a top mount version eventually with an enormous battery, but it will obviously lift the price and weight up. It will be an absolute monster for the group rides when it’s released though so if that sounds interesting stay tuned!

Looks like there's a lot of love out there for this board but to me those trucks look like a nightmare - a tyranny of choice. Or as they say in mathematics, combinatorically explosive. No thanks.
@DrewElia
@DrewElia 29 дней назад
I totally see where you’re coming from, why reinvent the wheel right? At first the trucks were definitely not to my standard. Like I said in my review, it was overwhelming amount of customization. But with help from propel being and working with them, we were able to create new bushings and get the board right. But I see where you’re coming from, but also innovation pushes things further, sometimes they miss the mark other times they propel us into the future….. see what I did there? 😂 sorry dad joke
@mikemenard4543
@mikemenard4543 29 дней назад
I would argue actually that the true tyranny of choice is the shopping journey itself because there are more than a dozen brands who are offering boards based on technology that was on offer more than a decade ago that each have their own unique ride characteristics and the shopper must choose between them all to try and not only determine which is best for where they are as a rider in this very moment but also into the future. All without test riding. I’ve seen people choose high powered VESC builds from botique builders who immediately realize the power delivery is far too excessive for their ride style and are on forums trying to figure out how to tone it down. I’ve seen people think they want a top mount long range board because it seems popular at the moment only to remove it from a box and realize it’s a lot larger and heavier and more challenging to maneuver in and out of their home setup than they first realized and that their feet give out far sooner than their huge wh does. The amount of times I’ve read people express buyers regret from buying a board that had a dominant characteristic due to the behavioral characteristics of DKP, TKP, RKP, channel truck, suspension, lack of suspension, decks that flexed too much and didn’t feel stable at speed, versus boards that didn’t flex or absorb vibrations well and gave them fast foot fatigue, is high. People suffer from a tyranny of choice stress from the pressure to try and ensure they are getting the right board with the right ride characteristics for themselves now and into the future. All without test riding. It’s here where Ruckus customization is so helpful at reducing a poor match and buyers remorse. I think Drew said it best in his review. With time and adjustments riders of different weights, with preferences as wide ranging as wanting borderline surfskate super carving ability and firmer straight line feel can dial in their ride. Ruckus doesn’t only behave one way for a single rider type. It can grow and adapt both to the shopper’s preferences when they first buy it and 18 months later when they’ve grown and changed as a rider.
@ssoffshore5111
@ssoffshore5111 28 дней назад
As someone who has hardly even played with the TKP trucks on my Titian X (I loved it out of the box!), I feel I'd be overwhelmed with all of these adjustments, but I do like that they do allow the rider to really dial in what they want, and some of it almost on the fly as riding conditions or styles can change from moment to moment.
