Great honest video there Graham. No doubt you will transform it with citra (my favourite hop). Looking forward to hearing how it changed it and fingers crossed for the summer to return so you can sit out and enjoy your work. Cheers 🍻
Cheers Mike yes it is a nice brew alright I have kegged some to add more hops and kept some in another keg my wife likes it as it is . Cleared very well and is an enjoyable drink but saying that it’s not what I expected it to be cheers 🍻
Good brew day Graham..that Nottingham yeast is a real fast fermenter...3-5 days and it's done..that's been my experience...BTW looks like your daughter is a real help...
Cheers Edward yes it a great yeast never lets me down . Yes my daughter loves her little step in raising the grains she wasn’t happy when I did a brew day and she wasn’t here so i I got her little sister to help 😂 because that’s her job . Cheers mate hoppy brewing 🍻
I love your fermenter is it easy to clean out with the opening being smaller than usual ? I’ve just got a fermzilla so branching out into pressure fermenting, do you not force carb it at all in the corny keg if you closed transferred ? If not that’s a bonus saving c02 . Great vid but sorry to hear the hops are not as they should be cheers 👍🍻
No it’s actually grand to clean I use my power hose and clean in minutes. No I don’t need to carbonate at all that’s what I love . It Finnish’s faster you can ferment at higher temperatures cold crash in the fermenter and because I have the floating dip tube a transfer to corni keg and leave the turb behind. It’s definitely the way to go saves time and it’s always perfectly carbonated. I also pressure ferment in corni kegs if it’s a smaller batch. Just get yourself a spunding valve. You will never look back . Citra hop tea added last Nt so hopefully get what I was looking for during the week. Yea fermzilla looks great that will be much easier to clean and seem to be good value. cheers Rick 🍻
Would you do a tour around the bar, let us know about the build and where you sourced stuff. Where's the old Guinness gone? Love the wooden box for the taps did you make it
Alright Andrew I am sure I could do a video tour of my bar . I build it myself I am a builder . Yes the box I max out of an oak shelf left out of a job . I still have the old Guinness cover I use it when I have 6 taps on the go
@@grahamlawlorshomebrewrevie8227 thanks a million nice job Graham I'm doing a bar build myself from an oak mamas and papas cot and the top is iroko from a school science lab. The iroko has been a pain in the ass varnish made the colour so dark so I had to step it again learnt my lesson
Another great video Graham. Question, what route did you go when moving up from extract kits to all grain, did you do brew in a bag or go straight to your Karlstien? Looking at upgrading my beginner setup, any recommendations appreciated!
Cheers jimmy I went straight with the karlestein system. I didn’t want to go boil in the bag as I new I would end up with a all in one system. The one I have is great my only problem now is I would like a bigger system 😂. There is a big difference when you brew an all grain. Don’t get me wrong there are some Great extract kits but all grain is just that bit better cheers 🍻
