Why do you not thin when the fruit are very small? I have a damaged apple tree that lost over half its canopy so I want to remove all the fruit to put energy into regrowth. Apple fruit that are 3/4" in diameter do not want to come off (!) So how to do it: remove blossom, cut stem (where to cut), pull off strongly and when it breaks so be it. OR ???
if I only thin the bottom of the tree where I can reach and not the top where it is more difficult, then will the fruit at the bottom still be as if I thinned the whole tree? I'm thinking of just pruning my tree to keep it less than 6 ft tall or so.

its i think a wastage of fruites...the space u r talking is too much it must be like that , remove the plums so that the may not touch each other n the same branch.
