Keto has completely saved my life. Even if I don’t lose another pound, I will NEVER go back to eating the garbage the SAD recommends. I feel way too fantastic to go back. 50+ pounds down in 3 months, and still going!! Keto on, my friends!!

And Keto nicely compliments Dr. Robert Lustig's war on fructose, which he claims to have proven is the cause of the diabetes epidemic that's savaging America.

2 1/2 yrs ago, I started Keto, thinking it was going to get to be too expensive to continue long term. Before long, my family saw what I was eating, and wanted that too. (Oh Man, I thought, this is gonna kill us financially). No. It solved several long term problems for us (diabetes, a heart attack, obesity, hyperactivity, and mental health problems). Still expensive...no. Serving meat and low carb vegetables is not expensive at all. What was draining our wallet was the cokes, the potato chips, the cookies and cakes, and they were making us sick. The addition of almond flour, and coconut flours weren't a good choice, and we stopped trying to adapt Keto to our former lifestyle. I believe that in itself was a marker where I stopped losing weight...I was trying to adapt Keto and trying to eat as I was before. BIG mistake. No, leave the breads, the deserts behind. Still hungry, have another bite of meat. Don't eat when you're bored. Go do something, get busy. I count myself lucky to have found Dr. Berry's channel. Thank you.

Completely on point. Eat real food as nature packaged it. I think the downfalls of many “Ketoers” are they eat way too much processed food. Even though low carb and sugar free they don’t realise some of these are full of additives and “natural flavourings” where there is nothing natural at all about it.

1. Nutrient density: Eating should be about harvesting nutrients that the body cannot produce. Calories (energy) are secondary to nutrients (parts for the machinery [the body]). 2. Carbohydrate intake: Unlike protein (amino acids) and lipids (fatty acids), there are no carbohydrates essential for human life that the body does not produce. Therefore, modulate carbohydrate intake based on how your body responds to them (i.e., if you experience inflammation or other health problems, try reducing your carbohydrate intake). 3. Food sensitivity: Some foods (especially plants) contain chemicals (e.g., phytotoxins) that can induce inflammation and autoimmune conditions. First identify your sensitivities via methodical trial and error, then avoid them! 4. Satiety: Nutrient-dense fats and proteins induce the body to secrete the hormones responsible for the sensation of "being full". 5. Fasting: "Not eating" induces a hormonal profile that facilitates the body using its stored fat as fuel. This applies to both intermittent fasting and prolonged fasting. 6. Ancestral appropriateness: Eat mostly foods that humans have eaten for millions of years, such as fatty meats, organ meats, and some plants. Be cautious of foods that humans have eaten for only thousands of years, such as grains, dairy, and alcohol. Avoid foods that humans have only eaten for tens to hundreds of years, such as vegetable/seed oils and highly-processed foods. 7. Avoid factory products: While many processed foods ("food products") are considered safe, there is no long-term data to support this conclusion, and the consumption of such foods coincides with the obesity epidemic. Instead strive to eat one/minimal-ingredient foods. NB: flour (even almond flour) is a processed food. 8. Adequate minerals: Humans cannot synthesize minerals and food raised/grown in nutrient-depleted soil may lack minerals, so take a mineral supplement to ensure adequate intake. 9. Avoid fad diets: The ketogenic diet may seem like a fad but it is actually well-documented in cultures around the world over the course of history. In contrast, modern dietary recommendations have only existed for a few decades and are largely influenced by politics and lobbying. 10. Sugar addiction: Carbohydrates are habit-forming, and the more processed the carbohydrate the more addictive. Like caffeine, sugar is a drug. "Sugar cravings" are actually sugar withdrawal! 11. Price vs quality: High-quality products are more expensive than low-quality products. Buy high-quality foods when you can afford them, but recognize that even a "low-quality proper diet" is typically healthier than a non-proper diet.

You must mean lower middle class households unless you’re outside the U.S , in America the low income households get fed very well I know because I wait in the line behind them at the grocery store with there 2 buggies slam full 😂
@WW-nk7wg
@WW-nk7wg Год назад
@@longshotdiedtired1582 You seem to be confused. Low income households obviously do not get fed very well in US. Obesity is in most cases not result of overeating high quality expensive food but the exact opposite. Look at list of countries with high obesity rates, you will see that the poorest countries top that list. Poor people end up overeating garbage like pasta, rice, bread, pork meat etc. That's what makes them obese. And US is one of those. On average US per capita income might be very high, but US also has both the richest AND the poorest people on earth. So advice on low income people to how to get high quality food for cheaper is a great advice. FYI: Many poor families typically buy food in mass. Check the content of those "buggies". Are they full of pasta, rice, bread, flour, potatoes, onions and then random cheap snacks like chocolate bars, chips, froot loops etc. Or are they full of tenderloin/entrecote from beef, lamb chops, organic fruits & veggies?

@@cutime6712 Well they probably won't be starving to death in the US, as they might be in some places in Africa. But poverty is a complicated problem. For example, some poor people in Africa might have a shoddy little house to protect them from the elements but no food and so they might starve to death, whereas some homeless person in the US might not starve because (unhealthy) food is easily available and cheap, but they might freeze to death in the winter because they can't afford a home

Yep, you save money NOT buying all the packaged stuff plus the cabinet full of supplements needed to make up for veggie "nutrition". And you quit buying those little things that add up like Frapuchinos and Jamba Juice smoothies. Also I find I don't waste food hardly at all anymore. Veggies are always going bad in the fridge before you can et them. Eating once a day frees up a lot of time and energy. Lots less prep and washing up too.

Robin Beers agreed. Because it's so difficult to find quick options for healthy foods, I'll cook a whole package of Costco meat and eat it for a couple days. Never have to worry about having food on hand, cook once per 3 days instead of 3x per day, and nothing gets tossed/wasted.

Back in February my doc told me I had an A1C of 6.31--pre-diabetic nearly to full diabetes. He asked me if I'd like some drugs for that and suggested metformin. I'd heard bad things about metformin so I told him no and decided to start doing some research. I knew all too well how bad diabetes is. The more I learned the more I cut out carbs and eventually started on 16/8 fasting as of a couple months ago and keto as well. I've lost 45 pounds and reduced my A1C to 5.4 as of last month. My doc had suggested reducing my worst weakness carb and never mentioned intermittent fasting. Take control of your own health and NEVER ASSUME YOUR DOCTOR WILL TELL YOU EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW. My thanks to people like Dr. Berry and Dr. Fung.

When I was in 5th grade in 1968, we had a class on what life would be like in the future (now!). I clearly remember the lesson on foods. We were told that the family farms would take a back seat to factory farming (to meet the demands of a rapidly growing population), and the majority of food would be lacking proper nutrients because the soils would be overworked and deplete of nutrients. The factory foods would also be loaded with chemicals and other ingredients that would be bad for the human body. This would cause many health problems. We were told that poor foods would be marketed heavily and pushed on us. Certain vegetables that were easy and quick to grow, would be pushed as being good for us but were actually lacking in nutrients. Dr. Berry nailed it!

Keto saved my life too and my lab work and calcium score prove it . Been 3.5 years now and I feel great. I let go of the dr I used to have that wouldn’t work with me to reverse type 2 diabetes and found a great dr that is a low carb expert and is a direct pay dr . Which means I get lots of lab work that he goes over with me. He is amazed at my health journey. Thank you dr Berry

I think that's why starting with carnivore instead of keto is a good option. Carnivore is the easiest healthy diet you can do, and then while you are carnivore and getting healthier, you can learn about low carb in general. But if you wait to understand keto before starting it, you're wasting time.

Dear Dr Berry, I could never thank you enough for all your wonderful videos. I had already understood that I needed drastically to reduce carbs towards the end of last year but finally watching one of your videos at the end of January this year, I understeed at last that it was actually possible to reverse my Type 2 diabetes. I have not looked back since, with my a1c down to 5.5 (and counting). I have of course watched many, many videos on the subject but for me you will always be the first on my list of lchf friends. To all of you I have deep respect, admiration and gratitude, not only for showing me how to reverse my t2d but also for the millions of lives you are currently saving, worldwide. Keep up the good work, Andrew

I just turned 50 and just passed the 2 month mark eating carnivore. I did it to see if there was anything to the testimonials that it helped your mental health. It absolutely does for me. I have always struggled with depression and anxiety, and anger issues. I have rapidly lost 34 pounds as a side effect, and that big ass gorilla is no longer on my back! Was it easy? Hell no, the first 2 to 3 weeks were tough! But let me tell you, when you finally wake up and your thoughts are clear and you don't wake up agitated, and that black cloud of despair is gone. Take my word for it....also, DO NOT CHEAT! If you were strict like I was and totally clean and try and sneak a meal or a cup of coffee, wow what a mistake! Your body tells you what's up, that is certain! Good luck everyone. I encourage you to try it for 30 days and see how you feel!

I had to go through many years constantly researching to understand all these concepts and put everything together to know what is really going on, and here it is all laid out for us. Kind of a hybrid. About 85% carnivore: meat, fish, eggs, butter, whole fat dairy, animal fat. I do periodically crave veggies, especially salads, salsa, and a little fruit. These have become supplements. My Achilles heel is peanut butter. I'll have a dollop with some regular butter every day. What can I say? I'm human and have my weaknesses. Almost two years on the keto/IF with spectacular results. Steady as she goes.

Today it dropped to 6.4, but it should be below 6.1. No withwrawl signs, I'm happy to say. I hope I can pick up weightloss again. Lost 9 kg so far. Prior to listening to this video, I believed that eating organic whole sprouted grains were the best for extracting nutrients and easier to digest. I realized that I had been protein deficient and fat deficient. Minerals and phytos were good, but the carbs and sugar create so much inflammation and I was addicted. I had 3 weeks of fatigue and not feeling well. It was freaky. The fatigue was intense. But I knew I was on the right track Once I can balance this insulin resistance, I want to get to more meatless options. I dont see that happening for a while. We humans have been DUPED! the Best advice I have heard. If you can't afford to eat with the best meat buy what you can. Many times I have only been able to afford conventional meat and have felt terrible because many other health blogs will say to avoid it at all costs and only buy grassfed. I definitely agree that grassfed is better but sometimes it's just not in the budget for many and I don't think people should be put down for buying what they can afford. I definitely think longterm working towards buying Natural products and grassfed is key but do what you have to and don't feel bad. Also join a local farmers co-op if you can. I have gotten grassfed meat for $5 and grassfed cheese for $6 a pound. Nowadays conventional beef is only really a dollar difference so this is actually a pretty good deal. just see what farmers you have in the area. you may be surprised at what kind of deals you may find.

As a recently diagnosed pre-diabetic, i stopped in my tracks and immediately cut all sugar and carbs that were killing me - physically and mentally. I must profess, at 62, that probably starting in my teens I have pondered the question of whether or not there is a nearly perfect diet that humans should follow or that would give utmost benefits . I still wondered often the question over the years at times. Now I am certain that professed foods and sugar and eating junk is the wrong direction. If nothing else I understand what is the WRONG things to ingest. I can go back years ago to the time I followed the “Atkins Diet”,which is very close to the tenets of Keto, and I lost weight very well and ate things I loved (proteins) . The problem was that I developed some slight headaches until I added some much needed vitamins. And afterI stopped and went back to previous eating patterns the weight came back almost immediately. It is now more than a diet kick for me at this point, the basic sense the Dr. makes are basic and simple and make the difference (for me) between becoming saddled to a blood sugar testing and insulin injecting outcome I do not want to have the rest of my life.

I’m tracking my carnivore diet total expenditure since starting 23rd September 2020. I’m eating a little bit of fish, eggs, cheese, bacon, pork, lamb, ground beef and cheaper cuts of beef like chuck. Quality beef is prohibitively expensive in Australia, so I might move on to that in time, as Dr Berry suggests. I’m also eating some mostly carnivore-friendly pepperoni when needed for a snack. My average expenditure has changed very little, and currently stands at $11.00 (AUD) per kilo. I’m eating approximately 1.25 kg per day, which equates to $13.75 per day or $96.25 per week. On the standard high-carbohydrate junk Australian diet I was probably spending upwards of $150.00 per week. Saving money on carnivore. 54 years old, 178 cm tall. Well overweight at about 98 kg before starting. Already down to 92.5 kg without changing anything (yet) except diet. Everything I’m being told by Dr Berry and the other main carnivore/keto proponents regarding the carnivore diet is proving to be 100% true. For example, no more gut/digestive/GERD issues - for one. Sugar addiction - 100% true. Etc., etc.
