just detailed a car while it rained. customer didn't care as long as I don't and the car comes out looking good. just do one part at a time. drivers section then a final wipe of any rain drops before you close that door and never open it again.. then onto the next section...outside doesn't matter as long as you have a wax, sealant, protection, should be good. even if not you can spray many protestants that don't require the car to be dry. I actually like it better being rainy than being 100 degrees out. gotta roll with the punches either way right always wanted a shop to do coatings and ppf and tint but I just ask a friend to use his warehouse if my customer wants one of hose done. I just hook him up with a detail to use his vast indoor area . saves me a ton of money
@AnthonyLol it wasn't coming down hard but still getting wet. I don't care. I've had used the tents before but it takes forever to setup and break down so vi stopped.
Would I be able to start in Florida heat ? I would do it later in the day and should I buy a water tank to stop hard water spots or a canopy ? And do you have any recommendations for canopy’s/water tanks
True! Detailing in 117° weather is death 😅 it’s almost impossible to do anything other than quick wash a car for a few months out of the year and it’s still 105° at night in the dark, so that doesn’t help either lol. We just hit our sweet spot. It’s 76°-85° this week, rain next week (never last long) and then hopefully it’s smooth sailing until March/April before it’s back to passing out 😅
Do you ever deal with hard water ? I’m not sure if I should get a water tank and put it in my sedan or buy a canopy to stop direct sun from drying the water before I can. Also does hard water mess with cleaning products at all?
Well, in germany, I do a full detail and service I do about 2-3 cars per day ( my empolyees not me), Right now I'm charging 300 euro to detail One single car. I get more calls but we dont have enogh resources to do more, I'm worried thaty prices are too high, should I reduce them or increase them. Keep In mind I do everything from washing to paint correction if needed or asked.
But with a shop we still have to work around the weather both are a plus to me!! When it’s raining and I’m Mobile I owe nobody but myself and when I have a shop I have to feed my employees even on rainy days?????
As a fellow Texan detailer how do you combat the blazing 100+ degree heat when washing the car. I always run into the issue of the soap and water drying to the car in a matter of seconds. Not even enough time to rinse all the panels before soap is dried on to another panel.
Pro of owning your business is that most of the costs you incur can be labeled as a business expense when you do your taxes...you have more tax benefits as a business owner rather than working for someone else and paying higher percentage lf income tax
True. You have more tax write offs as a LLC than a sole proprietor too. If you're starting a small start up where you're the only employee I suggest doing it as a sole proprietor and acquiring a DBA
No no don't believe this guy hi is exaggerating in everything if you are smart you can make 200 cars a month in a mobile detail just be prepared to expend more then 1200 in gas 1000 in supplies fine a good business insurance and sort your customers because in the beginning less say the first six months you going to get so much customers good and bad that is almost impossible to have time to make videos like this
