Adding on to this -- DOTS will sometimes ticket you, even if you have a parking permit, and permits are hecking expensive. And sometimes for games, depending on the lot you're in, you still gotta move your car by a certain time or else you get fined. I had to pay DOTS $85 for being an hour late in moving my car for a parking spot that I paid nearly $900 for (it was for the full year, but still :( )
Do you think that the people there are accepting towards people from different countries or from the lgbtq+ community? I would love to go there but I'm scared to get hated because of how I look, the language I speak and who I love.
From what I’ve researched i heard UMD is very friendly towards lgbtq+ community!!! I’ve read about UMD having something called LGBT equity center which is to help the lgbtq+ community in the school!!! So im guess UMD is pretty progressive and friendly towards you guys. I hope this helps :)
My dad advice to you...you’re preparing yourself to make the world the way you want it to be. Go wherever you want and don’t let others choose for you.
They have gender-inclusive housing, umd is in an extremely progressive area. PG is the most liberal county in the state honestly, and there are a lot of people that will generally support you!
I am picking from UMD. Or California baptist because I want to become a history law art or music composing because I love this school I just don’t like the fans❤
claudia aguilar i’m planning on majoring in poli sci and probably on campus. i know that it’s close to DC which attracted me to UMD in the first place😊
Alyssa weyand That’s cool😆 UMD is a great school, I love it. I’m transferring this fall and planning on commuting since I live in-state. Because the school is close to DC, there’s so many opportunities you can take advantage of. I’d recommend to check out the options in your state and job listings for your career. If it seems that UMD is a better option career-wise and job-wise, I would go for it. The environment here is great :) Also make sure to check housing options too, and scholarships that will definitely cut down some costs
