Use whatever cosmetics you guys like. No matter what you wear someone somewhere will call you a noob for wearing it unless it’s the highest tier curses. Just enjoy whatever you guys enjoy and remember, it’s a video game.
I once accidently went into open crew on my sloop once, got paired with a gold skeleton player, and he helped me get to level 20 in guardians before he said he had to go to bed for work. I kinda felt like skeleton players, let alone a gold one, would be more commanding rather than hardworking. I don't like to dwell on stereotypes, I've met some pretty cool cursed players.
Even with the higher tier curses, could be called a noob, had someone call me a noob when I was wearing the gold curse and I just straight up told him, “you the know the gold curse isn’t a pvp curse right, it’s not much about skill to get it, just a time commitment” so glad they did add pvp curses ever since that dude said it.
Having the pvp curses is not necessary a sign too. I got it a few weeks ago during gold and glory and its just a time commitment too. Im not sweaty or super good eather. Just take a quick loss or lowered the hourglass after I won 1 match. In theory every noob can get the curses just by farming losses.
The joy of this kind of stuff is that sure there's stereotypes around all the curses etc, but if you make your own name in the games you play, then the stereotypes don't apply to you. If you make your own legacy in the sea of thieves, in the server you play, you can use whatever curses, cosmetics, anything at all, and be an absolute badass whilst doing so
This is my favorite curse. I am aware of it's reputation, but it's a very visible curse, and it helps make my color scheme pop out. Red & black. Red my favorite color, and the black makes the red pop out more.
Played this game so long and finally got this curse, as a solo player i couldn't even think about doing pvp or completing a tall tale 5 times, 3 is just enough for my sanity so ill proudly wear it. If someone that sees you thinks your a noob for wearing it, thats their problem, especially when the person calling you a noob grinded hours more than you for some in game rep lol.
This is my favorite curse but only cause I like fire based cosmetics. I‘ve played this game since the beta, and I’m not a pvp thirsty player. However I do agree, that most people who use it are like what you said but not me.
The roar would be better if the volcano didn’t erupt at the worst possible times it seems the one with the outpost doesn’t erupt anymore which is good so there is an actual safe zone but geysers still exist
I love wearing this curse, it really brought my pirate to life and gave me the idea of her backstory when I got it. Now, I match it with Captain Briggsy's mask, white top, the order of souls pants, wicked web boots and the silver metal arm from the Emporium and it looks so good with any of my tattoos, especially the ashen lord ones
I just got sea of thieves and I want that sunken curse but it doesn’t look like it goes with anything, this curse looks awesome and like it’ll match with plenty of stuff
I honestly really like the devils roar because if the voygaes i can do there without being disturbed by other players and its just fun to hang out there
Why does everyone make the volcanos of Devil’s Roar sound so detrimental. They really aren’t that bad, just be aware of your surroundings and you are fine.
Ashen curse is awesome idc what anyone says 😅. Just recently got the sunken curse probably gonna wear that for the next 4 years and get curse of order next
The Roar is quite okay until a volcano obliterates your ship while you're doing a vault so you have to sail for God knows how long in a rowboat to Morrow's peak...
Ive been playing SoT since ots Beta and I think the Ashen curse is my favorite. They all look good and I cant imagine ANYONE wearing any of them actually being a "noob". Thats a lot of BS to go through for a cosmentic
My curse order was ghost curse, PL curse, skelly curse, and now finally, ashen curse. Also I've somehow made a good outfit for the ashen curse and I'm so proud of it!
Im new and i didn't even know it had a bad rep lol this is the kind of stuff i'd wear in other games if they have it makes no sense to hate on something this dope.
The only one I have (I refuse to get the gold curse) I don’t care what people say about it and it matches the theme of my ships (I still have yet to buy one in game to name but I will someday)
I like the ashen cosmetics a lot tbh. Which is kinda good for me too lol cause I like pvp, so when people see ashen stuff and lower their expectations, its better for me lol
I don't get the hate the Roar gets besides making digs annoying. Having to suddenly react to a volcano is a pretty fun change of pace, and I can't remember the last time I sunk to one. Even when I was brand new and solo slooping I could survive not being smart enough to leave the radius.
Ok hold on guys for those getting the journals one is room where you get the key one outside of the green door one in each door and if you have completed all three times but are still missing journals in the door the mermaid that says return to my ship use that use the mermaid outside the main door and you can go in a different door instead of doing it all those extra times
I was solo and tryna do the siren song while wearing the ashen curse got attacked then the guys that attacked me camped my ship and killed me over and over again but the best part about it was they were very mad at me for wearing the curse
I still don’t get what the hate towards the Ashen cosmetics are. I love the ashen cosmetics and I’m not some toxic sweaty noob. I’m quite the opposite.
i have not seen anyone that knows to play that uses ashen curse but nowdays i see people that have skelly curse and stuff that dont know to play idk how its even possible but might be me just not realizing that im just that good that a normal player is a swabbie to me
The only curse I have is the sunken curse and I accidentally earned it by doing some long voyage. Ever since I earned it, my little brother won’t shut up about getting a curse and he expects me to waste my time on the bozo ashen tall tale to get this one for him 💀
