@@CarGuyV8 were here in michigan my son has a 94 camero exactly like your white one. It's Immaculate inside outside and underneath no rust anywere.garage keep.has a blown motor.will sell for $1200.00. You wont find another one this clean.
The 4th gen camaro is not the car we mightve wanted, but it was the car we needed, this car sparked the modern muscle car revolution that is just now starting to set.
Recently modified my 96 Z28 manual. Owned since Oct 95. Beautiful black paint job. Golen 383 LT1 460 hp/440 ft lb; new T56; Centerforce dual friction clutch; Baer Brakes, coil over suspension, aftermarket control ams, Koni adjustable shocks; Watts linkage, subframe connectors, anniversary 17x9 chrome wheels with sticky 275 Nitto autocross tires, & a lot more. The Z is immaculate everywhere. What's awesome is that it looks stock except for lowering. Obviously, I'm proud of it. It's a keeper.
I bet man! That sounds like a good fun car. I currently have a lowered 04 Mustang GT with NITTO 315 rear 275 front tires. TR3650 w/ short throw shifter, 3.73 gears, headers, h-pipe, borla catback, bbk Tb, and custom grind cams! It’s pretty fast for stang!
I bought my 1997 Mystic Teal Metallic Z28 in 2003. A one owner car with 56,000 miles. Just reached 100,000 miles on 9/4/23. It runs great and still gets the same mileage as when it was new. One of the first things I replaced were those not so attractive 5-spoke 16 in. wheels with a set of 2000 SS 17 in. 10-spoke take-off wheels from SLP for $400. Currently running on Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus 275/40 ZR17 tires. I also added tubular lower control arms and panhard bar, larger sway bars, Flowmaster cat-back exhaust, cast aluminum diff cover. Still a blast to drive. I've had it up to 125-135 mph a few of times. No tickets so far.
I had my white T top 97 Camaro 3800 series for 8 years and love it. Kind of sad I don't have a V8 but then again the 3800 series can last probably into the 300,000 miles at least :P
I have a 3800 V6 powered Firebird and it's sitting at 210,000 miles right now. It keep the miles off of my Trans Am. I may own the birds but the Camaros are just as sexy and will both last as long if you take care if them
@@mach1941 going to sell mine soon, it has been almost 10 years and she was my first car but I want to experience other cars in this limited life and so the next car I got is a JDM car, a Honda Beat :P
I had a "94" identical to this one. I added red racing stripes which really set it off. I bought it with 70K miles. It was a one-owner when I bought it in 2004. I kept it 17 years and used it for work. When I sold it 2 years ago, it had 341K miles on it. Still ran like a new car and never used a drop of oil. Did I put money in it? Yes I did, but it was a fun car and not a week went by when someone didn't give me a compliment in it. Even in traffic! I may buy another one before I die..
Awesome man! Be careful and learn the car before testing it out. They’re a lot of fun but can get out of control in a split second. I bet you’ll love it 👍
You're going to love these F-bodies bro! I've had many Mustangs and right now I have a 2002 Trans Am and these are as good as they get for bargain performance!
Love me a 4th gen F-body, especially the 93-97’s! Now, I happen to prefer the Firebirds, but the Camaro is a looker, too! I have a 1996 Pontiac Trans Am Comp T/A (120 of ~200) with 31k mikes, and I freakin’ love it! Plenty of power (the Comp T/A got 310 hp), makes heroic sounds, handles like it’s on rails, and looks cool as hell. And the performance per dollar is hard to beat!
I have the 1997 ss slp Hurst 6 speed manual convertible and I have my car done with a brand rebuilt motor only have 3 thousand on the new rebuilt motor making around 600 horsepower
My 1994 Camaro Z28 1LE is a monster. However simple maintenance like changing the spark plugs is nearly impossible from the top and you find yourself underneath the car changing them. So many senors that it canbe a problem to nail down when they fail.
At 6:45 that white one with the black roof and then the black wheels, sittin dam near on the ground!! That thing looked amazing!! Also shout out to you for making a nice video that is clear and understandable. Not all my car umm is umm pretty umm and it umm fast too ummm. LoL im sure you know what i am talking about!! So ya good job man!!
I was wondering if I was the only one who though this was funny as shit!! There’s one reason these cars are good right now this is what race tracks are full of to make race cars that’s pretty much it! The new Camaro bodies has taken over the cool street car scene you risk looking like Joe Dort driving this body style around!! Lmao
Great video! I have a 94 z28 1LE with a six spd. Done a few bolt on's but only has 31,000 miles. I'm hoping it will become more rare in the near future.
@@505racing3 Thanks for the reply! I really love it! Hoping it will hold its value as time goes on. It's becoming a sentimental piece for my kids and if I ever wanted to sell it my oldest one said he would take out a loan for it. Lol. Thanks looking forward to many years of enjoyment and frustration as well. Lol
These lt1s are NOT bad motors at all. They have a bad reputation but i thinks thats just because they were misunderstood when they came out and were quickly overshadowed by the LS motor. Of course if you can get an LS do it, but if your just gonna mod a car slowly over time, these are fine options. Ive had one for years and it has the 24x coil pack conversion with 200,000 miles running strong.
Back in the day Motor Trend did an Article comparing the 97' Z-28 LT1 to the 98 LS1 both with stock exhaust while the LT1 booms urgently the LS1 played a more delicate tune even though it had more torque, The setup of the LS1 with the aluminum block seemed to absorb more sound and make it a little bit quieter, They also commented on the 93 through 97 Corvette exhaust which is not nearly as throaty as the Z-28 of the same period ,the Vetts were tuned to be much quieter which doesn't make sense to me.
Never owned a 93-97 but I’m on my 4th 98-02 first being a 3.8 and the last 3 being the SS I love the 98-02 with the LS1 platform highly underrated at 335hp and 350 torque mine dynoed stock at 307 to the wheels and now with just headers full exhaust, lid, smooth bellows, ls6 intake with ported and polished tb and 12 bolt rear with 410s is putting down over 360 to the wheels.
Wowww you put 5k into your car and make 53 horsepower. Should have just boosted it, stock LS1’s can take it easily, you would have made a lot more than 50hp for the same money or less, depending on how much you wasted.
How did he put 5 grand into his engine ? 12 bolt and gears ,don't get you horsepower ! Just gets to it quicker . Better redo your math .@@love2fight205
My first car was a '96 Camaro. Color was teal & had the t-tops. 3.8 engine. Man I miss that thing! I sold it when i got older so that my wife could get the wedding dress of her dreams.
i own a 96 z28 very few electronics and that is good basic torqui v8 and a m6 t56 trans the perfect maro of its time and today a geat car still i have mine sinse 2001 its been 20 years now ans no way i would ever sell it
95 Z28 6-speed convertible with 195K miles. 17 inch C5 Corvette wheels with 98-02 larger brakes, tubular rear control arms and panhard rod, SLP Bilstein SS shocks, 33mm front swaybar, all bushings, transmission mount and engine mounts replaced with poly, subframe connectors, strut tower brace, Pro 5.0 billet shifter (best T-56 shifter EVER!), Magnaflow muffler. I do all my own repairs and stunts! Still driven daily!
I’ve owed a 91. Z28. Convertible an a 98 z28 loved them. Both miss. Them both you. Lt1. Or. Def then 5.0 tpi. In 91 an 98. With ls1 love all. Camaro s awesome man wish I still. Had both of mine I’d video. With ya lol awesome 👏 man
these are ok cars. can be fun if you enjoy the torque. ride is rough. thanks to rudimentary rear suspension. to get in and out of the car, it helps to be short, trim, and flexible. if you are tall, stocky and stiff, it can be a workout. keep an eye on the plastics and gauges, pray that they stay working
Just got an 01 5 speed manual v6. Love it. It's definitely fast enough for me, I'm not trying to race anyways, just love the way the car looks and feels.
@@CarGuyV8 I’ve been watching videos all day love yours man! I know she’s old af but to me she’s a great car! I wanna get upgraded cams and a supercharger I’ve seen so many people turbo there LS1s it’s crazy lol the owner just dropped in a new motor too but she’s really old the interior is a mess. I don’t know what to do first.
I like both the Camaros and the Mustangs the only problems I ever had with my LT1 Camaros that damn optispark distributor and it's tight engine bay the Mustangs never really had an issue
My issues were usually the optispark and fuel pump. I had to replace the fuel pump 2 or 3 times in 2 years. Now I have new edge gt mustangs and they’re a lot more reliable.
I have a stock 1995 Camaro V6- she had 117k when I bought her last June 2021- 2 owner- want to put flowmaster exhaust on her for a bid of rumble- or better opps? (she is arctic white with those same seats)
I have the 97 camaro. It has 30th anniversary sitching on the seats, and instead of z28 is says F.1for the logos BUT On the owner ship it says z28 so I'm guessing the f.1 is just a package?
All ‘97s have the 30th insignia. The F1 package was a dealer installed package. They’re not very common to find. I cant remember what all it included but I believe some type of body kit, badges, floor mats, and I believe exhaust + a couple other little things. You should make a video of it. I’d like to see it.
@@CarGuyV8 its grey with two black racing stripes instead of the ugly orange I have been seeing online lol. It has racing bucket seats all around the floor mats do say f.1. The motor is a v8 allumin block 350 small block. Has 6 speed manual transmission. Everything is factory. I might make a video since I can only find one online
About to pick up a 94... Comes with an 80k mile LT1 I'll just have to install it. Should I do anything cool to the motor before I Install it? Sadly I think it's an auto tho :-/
I’d put a mild cam in it. CC503 or something similar. Also longtubes or midlengths. Those two things are lot harder to do once the engine is in the tight 4th Gen engine bay.
If no key just remove the three 10mm bolts that hold the hatch latch under the trunk carpet. Once you get the bolts out, then you can unlatch it, and then bolt it back up. I ran bout 8ft of speaker wire that i jumped into the hatch release button. So if im by myself and need to open the hatch just touch the wires and lift the hatch up. Just temporary till i get new hatch struts though lol!
Darius Bryant you need a sell it before you ruin a Camaro. Get some wheel spacers and put corvette wheels on it. It’ll preform better and have a good stance, please don’t donk it and destroy the fenders and quarters. It will just look like a kid drew a car and then drew massive circles under it
Unless it's the v6 then have your way with her. 22s lifted would look donkish. I wouldn't go 22s on mine(I have corvette rims) but I have seen ppl do it and it look good. Tucked neat and not lifted at all. Gonna cost you tho. Better off with nice Vette rims.
Not bad i had a 96 Rs from 18-20. Then got an 02 Firehawk. Now rollin a 94 Z28. Your driving record will play into your cost, and what type of insurance you go with. I have comp on my Z with 24-7 roadside, and liability on my HHR daily driver.
I'd recommend looking into broadform insurance, especially if you own or drive multiple vehicles. Broadform insures the driver, not the vehicle, and even covers you if you're driving someone else's car (as long as you have permission, that is ;)
ChaosLord is that I like what they call a bond insurance? Thats what i had from like 18 to 22. Very good deal price wise, but if you have project car thats important to you, thats where it sucks because theres no coverage for it.
@@justinfbabay I don't think it's bond insurance, (tho I'm not really sure what bond insurance is. Insurance is super-confusing by design, and I don't really get any of it, honestly). I think we're comparing apples and oranges tho. Broadform (or maybe it's "broad form") isn't the level of coverage like limited liability or comprehensive. It just insures the driver instead of a specific vehicle. I believe you can get full comprehensive coverage with broadform if you so choose. I personally just needed legal coverage, and when I switched from insuring just my Saturn SL to broadform, it only cost about $50 more for 6 months (so like $8/month more), which is a lot cheaper than covering two vehicles separately. The most important thing to remember tho... is to honk when you drive by Vern Fonk.
@@CarGuyV8 the cowl is the part of metal that the glass is mounted on right?. But from what I have heard the LT1 350 and the L31 share the same design except for the reverse Cooling except for that they share the same intake bolt pattern right ? .the L31 has the stronger 4 bolt main block 🤷🏽♂️
Pros,The Chevrolet Camaro it Has Daytime Running Lights from 1997 And Up... in Canada from 1990 And Up... in The United States GM Mandates To Put Daytime Running Lights from 1995 And Up... Short Right After Canada ⚽🇺🇸🇨🇦
I have to disagree on the feels like a "rocket ship" i have both a 92 c4 vette and 96 camaro the vette feels more like a fighter jet or rocket ship than the camaro the camaro feels just very roundy and modern
Can you reply to this post woth the link to the cons video . I love tbese cars id like to see your video o the cons i loved the pros were on the same page i wanna know if we have the same cons @CarGuyV8
I had a 94 and a 98 z28. Interior was alright for the time. Power is not at all comparable to new equivalents. I would say it handled like a brick compared to my 17 SS with mag ride. All that being said, I will always miss my 94.
