Prospecting for Gold and haunted by an Old-timers Ghost

In this video I go prospecting for gold in an old-timers goldfield.
I spend the day test panning the black pug clay that the old-timers talk about the gold being in. I haunted by hearing sounds of an old-timer working in the background.
We also go detecting for gold with the gold monster 1000 and find some nice nuggets to take home. I hope you guys enjoy this video.

Another Great Movie Levi Thanks for showing us all Yep definitely sounds like one of the old boys digging hard. He was taken away early , maybe for his gold or in a sudden accident where he doesn't know he's dead. He might see you as another miner that will take his claim if he doesn't continue working it. I think that cameras pickup either residual sounds from the past, or even sounds from an alternate universe that's literally right on top of us, but we just can't see or hear it. Maybe that's what you heard....the sounds of guys working that very area in another universe, at exactly the same time as you. It's cool when you think about it.

Top video. Definitely some metal noise in the area. I find detecting and finding old stuff left behind by miners almost as rewarding as finding what you are actually looking for. Best find, cast iron door from a kitchen fire place. Location East side of Lake Burley Griffith (original town set up by the builders of the lake and parliament house) current location of door. My library in Wynyard:-)

Recently started prospecting in Tassie as well, got my detector and chasing it down the west. Everytime I watch your vids, you make me realize how it sticks in you. It really is a bug, it's stuck under your skin and you can't itch it. Funny thing is, even when you go home empty handed. You still have a good day, because the serenity. You almost lost me with the fish comments..... Fish are for eating! They aint our friends. Anyway, that black clay looks close to what we call "baker's dirt" commonly carries gold and other metals. Its burnt dirt. I have some near me and the Carlin Trend east of me in Northern Nevada has been mining it for a very long time. Looks like rugged country. Reminds me of the places i go in California. Steep n deep. Beautiful coarse gold! Looks like a fun day in the life! Im getting the itch myself now. Think i'll pack my gear and head out for a couple a days to an ole spot ! Hey get a big steel rake and rip down them mounds ! They are probably full of small gold!

You might want to insure ur safety deposit box Levi. Over here in the states they aren’t covered under FDIC and if there’s a theft and ur box gets pinched they won’t cover it. Good work.

As always Levi looks like a blast wish I could fly to tazz & join in on the fun. Still to cold in Fairbanks alaska it’s -25f today it’s been temps like this & colder -40 for the last month. Can’t wait till April to go prospect & mining. I’m getting what’s called (Cabin fever) To cold to go out & do anything so stuck inside going nuts. That black stuff looks like coal. Very tropical looking beaches. I keep planing on coming to tassie but whenever I go to book the boat over near Christmas it’s hella expensive. $1500 for two ppl plus the 4wd. I found some old diggings with plenty of large holes. It’s quite far from water though. No idea how the old timers used to get the gold out. Maybe just transport the dirt to the closest river. My dad recently bought a gold monster. Panning is a bit hard on his back being mid 60’s. We had some fun with it, still getting used to the sounds it makes. At first we dug everything and I think it was just mineralised ground. I’ll show him this video so he can hear the sound we should be paying attention to.

Wormy yeh the boats way to expensive that time of year. Yes the monsters make a nice delayed wabble pop sound as people describe it. If you have a piece of gold it’s good to carry around to put your hearing to it.
