How hard is it to get a controlled burn in east Texas. I've just purchased property in marion County. Near Jefferson. I'm reaching out to a forester. Because I want to have some logging done. But what I'm trying to do is set the property up as multi use. (1) small farm (2) residence (3) and for wildlife. I don't want the land raped of timber. And it's only 100 acers of which I want to make 25 - 30 farm and residence. It's mostly pine. But there are some hardwoods which will never be cut. The pines need heavy thinning. I'll know more about it after I get with a forester. But I know a controlled burn or prescribed burn would really be a benefit to the wildlife. I can cut the residence/farm down to 15 - 20 acers if need be.
