In this video we talk about HALO, our flexible film coating. We take a detailed look at how to prepare the surface, application, removal and how to maintain the coating.
Awesome video! Just had a quick question. Is the C2 spray effective on my vinyl wrap that has been coated with another brand of ceramic coating? Thanks
I have a full front PPF applied to my car so this is perfect but is it ok to apply HALO to the rest of the car that isn't protected or would it be better to purchase something like C1 crystal lacquer for those panels?
Very nice product! Getting a full Expel Ultimate stealth wrap on my car and will be using Halo. How often would you recommend to do a maintenance decontamination? Once a year? So if I got it right Step1: W4. Step 2: W5 citrus all purpose cleaner 10:1 ratio. Step 3: W6. Step 4: After drying apply 30-50% IPA. Step 5: Apply 2 coats of Halo with 1 hour in between. Please let me know if I got it right. Much appreciated.
@@GtechniqUK Thanks for the quick response. 1.Is it safe to gently clay after the iron decontamination process? I usually do this on my non PPF ceramic coated cars and it makes a big difference. 2. After 2 years when it is time to re-apply Halo is it safe to apply the new coating when there is still a bit of Halo from the old coat or does it have to be completely removed first before applying the new coat? Thanks.
@@jassimtalah7031 You can clay the PPF if you wish to do so. After 2 years simply decontaminate the car and apply the IPA and the PPF will be ready for re-coating.
What about using this on a brand new ppf which has a hydrophobic property layer on it? For example current Avery, Sterk and 3M ppf. Is it still effective?
Hello, can I apply Halo right after I apply PPF, or should I wait until the water evaporate which may take 7-10days for ppf. Can the water evaporate through the Halo ceramic coating?
Hi Guys. Just got my satin vinyl treated with Halo at the shop. How long do I need to wait before washing my car. I’m in Canada. So temperature is around 45°F here. Car is parked inside.
I just purchased a car with vinyl wrap which was ceramic coated with another brand. The coat has been on for 6 months. Will Halo still be effective on my car as long as I follow the decontamination process, despite having an existing ceramic coat? Thanks.
If it is a good quality coating it is unlikely that a decon wash will remove the coating. You would likely need a very strong chemical to remove the previous coating.
@@GtechniqUK Thank you for the reply. So Halo won’t be effective if the existing ceramic coating is still on? If so, does G-techniq have any products to remove the existing coating? Thanks heaps.
@@josephinechoy9031 The only way to fully remove the coating is to use an aggressive cleaner, but this might damage the PPF. The best you can do is to decon wash the car, IPA with a 50/50 mix of water and apply the HALO. Keep in mind that HALO is only as good as the substrate it is applied to. Well prepared and surgically clean substrates will help to maximise coating durability.
I just want to make sure that W7 and also W8 are safe to use on Halo. I already have Halo on 2 of my vinyl wrapped cars and I was going to do a decontamination wash, But it says on W7 do not apply on Vinyl. is it safe on Vinyl once it has been coated?
@@DElle-li5xd Ben's point was that HALO is chemically resistant to products some of the most aggressive products such as W7. Although we advise not applying W7 direct to vinyl or PPF.
So long as the panel is cool to the touch and out of direct sunlight you will not have any issues. The product will 'flash' quicker, so you will need to be aware of this when removing the product. You may have to remove it more quickly than at lower temperatures.
I am done applying Halo. Every when should I apply the C2? Also, what will happen if I apply 3 coatings of Halo? I do have extra product from friends 😀
There is no real benefit to adding a third layer as there is only so much product the film will be able to absorb. You can apply C2 regularly over the top to help maintain hydrophobic protection.
Normally we say leave it 12 hours before exposing to moisture. Typically the only issue you would see would be water spotting - there will be no degradation of the actual coating.
@@RayNLA never use regular water always use distilled water because of the harsh metals and contaminants in regular tap water. To use regular water would be a dangerous thing to do
@@RayNLA yeah just wanted to let you know I wasn't being a wise ass, I just thought it was important to make sure viewers understand that distilled water must be used without exceptions.
@@willsrestorations Hey man, no offense taken at all. It’s all about the details when it comes to chemicals and getting the best results. I had my Tesla completely wrapped with STEK film and coated it with Halo myself, and I did use distilled water and IPA to prep the surface. Thanks again brother!
