There's absolutely nothing on this earth better than this product. 22 years in the Midwest salt/snow belt +jungle heat and humidity not a single piece of rust on my SUV. It's freaky how snow and water don't bead off it actually bounces it off. Shines better than Griots, chemical guys Sonax Wolfgang the countless other "new sealant technology's" it was originally made to protect metals for power companies out east I believe from the harsh winter's or something.

True! A solid base coat of Adams Sealant in combination with some 845 or the rock solid 476 > pure love. Or pure Colli on a good prepped surface. Cheap and very effective. Conclusion : never follow the hype.

After doing jescar and collinite how long do you wait to apply collinite again ?
@TheCeki1982
@TheCeki1982 6 лет назад
As a guideline. You have to take into account the humidity and ambient temperature, but this is usually not a problem. 1. Degrease the surface with an Eraser or similar product. 2. A sealant or wax usually has to cure for 30 minutes. 3. Layer as much as you want but this is not needed. 4. Make sure when you wipe off that the product doesn't smear, if yes wait 30 more minutes. 4. Work inside, your garage. One proper or two proper proper layered sealants or waxes are more than enough. Try it and see what you like.

I love collinite 845!! Very easy to apply, easy to buff and it lasts for around 6 months!! Pretty good hydrophobic qualities. Its also very cheap. I recommend 845 to pretty much everyone, especially beginners. PRO TIP: Put the bottle in a bowl of hot water and let it sit for 5mins, shake it and it is now a liquid. Now put a spray head into the bottle and you can now spray it onto a applicator pad for even easier use.

I used collinite 915 and and 476s. I apply a week apart e.g. 476s first and the 915 a week later. It gives unbelievable gloss and incredible slickness, amazing hydrophobic beading. Here's the best method to deliver outstanding results. 1. Rinse your car in shade area. 2. Form and let it sit for 5 min and rinse off foaming canon and if needed apply bug and tar remover than de-Ironizer and if needed use clay bar to prep the surface for polishing. 3. Wash with 2 buckets (I use 2 buckets for rinse and 3rd for wash) with grit guards and use a pH neutral shampoo with high lubricity to help prevent wash-induced swirls and washing mitts). 4. Use a good quality plush microfibre drying towel and apply with a wax and detailing spray surface and dry off. 5. Apply Collinite wax (any of numbers), do in sections and buff off with microfiber towels. 6. Maintain in between with regular wash and dry off with microfiber towels and spray sealant and apply with a sealant. This will gives you a year deep gloss and shines last for 2 years. I used this method for all my cars and black cars too. Everyone knows black car is horrible to maintain, this method is my own true and best results. I park my car 24/7 outside at home and park at construction sites at work and high traffic areas for shopping. Everyone says did I buy a new car and some even loved my new showroom car.

I know this is one old product, and not the easiest to apply and remove, but I love it for waxing wood chairs, tables and windows. For these household items, the durability is beyond adequate, and subjectively, a wax feels more natural for these tasks than a ceramic or graphene product.

Ever since you and Pan introduced me to Jescar and Colinite, I haven’t found a better product. I detailed a 2003 Jeep with 150,000 miles. One-half the hood was Jescar. The other half was Turtle Wax Graphene paste. Both had equal shine and beading. My customer preferred the Jescar; the smoothness really sold him. By the way, Pan dialed me onto your site. There’s other detailer a, but I listen to you two the most. Thanks for the good work.

Can a ‘Wash and Wax shampoo’ help in longer retention of Collinite 845’s coating by, say, adding a layer of the so-called wax over Collinite 845’s coat, or will such shampoos harm the wax coating rather than aiding?

I have used collinite on my black Corvette with the powerlock base, I've noticed the hazing, I've washed the clean car twice, if the car sits in the sun it hazes over again, how many car washes is needed to get the hazing off, getting a bit annoyed at this stuff, but if you use it I'm sure it's the best combo, just can't get the hazing to go away, thinking about stripping it off and starting over but damn that's a lot of work, I'm retired and do a bit of detailing on the side but not using this combination because of the hazing issue.

Nice, very informative video. Apparently this stuff has been around a long time judging by some of the comments, but I've personally never seen it before. Might have to get a bottle of it myself. Hey Matt my wife's car is metallic white, which as you know doesn't show much in the way of imperfections, and in full sunlight I can just barely make out some very light swirl marks. What would you recommend for a 1-step or maybe 2-step correction/polish process, considering that I have a PC 7424 machine and a variety of those Hex-Logic pads? Maybe a microfiber pad with a Meguiar's product? 101, 201, etc? And then a polishing step after that?

Now do a review on the new Collinite No. 520 Mister Collins Post Haste Detailer Quick Detailer

Yeah, I'm curious to see how Collinite 520 works as a maintenance topper and/or drying aid, almost as a stand in for Meguiar's D156 X-Press Spray Wax

Mat can you also use this on a PPF protected car?
@ObsessedGarage

I'm not 100% sure about top coat films, but my guess would be yes to all of them.
@seanqx56
@seanqx56 6 лет назад
Note to anyone buying this. It does not work well with Ammo skin, not sure why I thought it would. Listen to matt use it with power lock.
@brian8045
@brian8045 6 лет назад
seanqx56 what issues did you have with this and ammo skin? I have used both on my vehicles and didn’t notice anything.
@seanqx56
@seanqx56 6 лет назад
Brian Minix not sure i have Reflex and skin on my Tahoe and i didn’t want to spend the money to buy Ammo Creme. So i put some Collinite on top and it made some kind of film after a couple days.
@seanqx56
@seanqx56 6 лет назад
Brian Minix now that i think of it i could have just put the Collinite directly on the Relfex since it’s a polymer base.
@brian8045
@brian8045 6 лет назад
seanqx56 I did the reflex, skin a few hours later, then 845 the next day. I have a black and a white Jeep. I didn’t notice any film. I didn’t know until today that it was polymer based. Figured it was straight carnauba wax. So you could’ve done reflex and collinite
@seanqx56
@seanqx56 6 лет назад
Brian Minix maybe it’s the process that i used. I applied two coats of reflex 8 hours apart. Then Skin the next day waited 2 hours then 845. I may have needed more time for the skin to set.
@capturingperfectionphotogr1144
How come you dont use the jescar powerlock on glass? And can you use it on glass (tinted)?
@ObsessedGarage
@ObsessedGarage 5 лет назад
There are much better products for the glass.
@capturingperfectionphotogr1144
Okay thanks I am just a hobbyist and a 1st timer just want to use the 3 products I have but didn't want it to mess up the glass. Thanks for responding

Matt...so the correct application would be 845 over wax and not wax over 845? Correct? Thanks
@ObsessedGarage
@ObsessedGarage 6 лет назад
845 is the wax, so it is the topper. Then you could apply spray on wax on top of that.
@keithbalzan5772
@keithbalzan5772 6 лет назад
Obsessed Garage I always thought it was a sealant! In any case...sealant over wax or viceversa? Thanks
@ObsessedGarage
@ObsessedGarage 6 лет назад
Wax would be the last layer. Sealant first, wax second. This is Carnauba based, so it's a wax.

Optiseal doesn't look great to me. It works well, but does nothing for depth. I much prefer Optimum Spray Wax

Opti-Seal topped with Optimum Car Wax is amazing. 845 is great stuff too. Just keep it off of trim and out of cracks, crevices and badges.

Can you apply 845 with a DA polisher?
@ivanlopez7294
@ivanlopez7294 5 лет назад
Sure can, makes it easier to lay down a thin layer which is key to Collinite 845. See the directions tab here and they mention applying by machine: www.collinite.com/automotive-wax/insulator-wax/
