Ah yes, sacrifice the low affordable price tag to make a full scale proton pack. Yikes, its a collectors item, not a full prop. If you have the money to dish out for a full replica proton pack with the same quality from Hasbro, you probably have more than enough to make your own and connect it to the wand.

Shame the end bit looks like it's spring loaded though compared to the Matty one which is motorised, makes it look a bit cheap.

Yep spring loaded to push back in feels super weird from an in universe standpoint, even though the prop may have functioned like that. No way anyone is gonna touch something that red hot. All other ways the Hasbro want is an improvement in the Matty. Apart from maybe nuance in activation lights on the Matty,

This one looks and sounds like the Mattycollector ones made which I have and LOVE. They also made a Ghostrap, PKE and goggles. Curious to see if Hasbro will make the backpack where Mattycollector failed to get made

Almost seems like they're going out of their way to ignore GB2, and ah well, I say let them. My hopes aren't too high for Afterlife, between the apparent lack of an NYC setting and the remaining 3 Ghostbusters probably being left to short cameo appearances. I'll be surprised if this turns out anything like the original films we grew up with. The 11 year old girl was actually wearing a supposedly heavy proton pack in one of the trailers. You may as well call Afterlife "Ghostbusters: Stranger Things edition". As far as I'm concerned, we already did get a GB3 in the 2009 video game, and the game featured all 4 of the guys reprising their roles to star in the game as well as actually showing some recognition and respect for GB2 with multiple easter eggs and references. I won't be surprised if Afterlife doesn't make a single nod to GB2.

Very very different. Both have pros and cons but Hasbro one is a step up. Advanced beefier force feedback motor, heavier, etc.
