Gareth, are you asking me if you can make a program in the CNC control and then save it in your PC? If so, the answer is yes. However, the program can only be opened in your PC if you have the offline programming system because the program itself will be a ProtoTRAK file, not a G-code file. Some of our higher end controls such as the SX or RX do have an option to save a program as a .CAM file which is G-code but it will be in our own format which may not run in a different type of machine that requires a certain format different than ours.
I assume you are using the KMX offline programming because you can only open DXF or Parasolid files in the offline. This being said, both, the offline and the control only find files that are placed inside of a folder named KMX PROGRAMS. Make a folder by this name on your USB stick and the offline will find it. All files have to be placed into this folder. Another easier way to do this is to make any program in your offline and then save it. The offline should automatically create the KMX PROGRAMS folder on your USB stick for you. T.P.
@@trakingpat2750 Thanks for your reply, yes im using KMX offline. I've placed my .dxf file into the generated folder KMX PROGRAMS on my memory stick & still nothing shows up when i press open on the software. When I first open the software I get the error "Software could not find a programmed option key, so will launch as trail version, which will not allow you to save your program" do you think this could have any effect?
