Upon seeing this title one thing immediately came to mind. Platinum. Medals. Getting gold was hard enough in every challenge then my heart shattered upon realising THERE WAS A HIGHER TIER
You should try this this morning to make a smoothie with a banana bread mix style banana and some chocolate chip ice tea or or some thing with it it would work work
You should try it with some sort in your oven to get it hot before before putting in a pizza dough recipe and see what it looks best to use in a a pie pie pan and how to do so in your dough recipe if it looks better in a pinch and it will taste
Prototype is my absolute favorite game of all time.. It's the one that got me hooked on open world action games.. None have come close since. Shame we'll likely never see a Prototype 3 :( Plus there's a serious lack of Antihero games in general nowadays, and that makes me sad :(
the charged rolly polly blade attack plus the height drop damage does siginficantly more damage than anything else, especially if you combine it with a devastator after landing, made me feel like a pro-gamer when I discovered that
@@jude1832 it’s a remaster. Not a great one. But a remaster none the less. They bumped the graphics up to 1080p and I believe you get both prototype 1 and 2 in it. Maybe you are thinking of a remake? Where they completely rebuild the game and all it’s assets and such.
Ma'am I miss this game, i remember playing it when I was a kid, it came free on my Xbox 360, that my dad bought it from a friend of his, with some other games like assassin's creed 2. I still remember the first time I played the game, the game was so brutal and violent that my mom didn't wanted me to play it anymore, and kinda stoped playing because I was a dumb kid at the time and i was too scared to play the game, some years later i came back to try the game again, and I loved, even if didn't know English at the time and didn't know what the hell was going on, i just loved the game.
Did anyone else find this game as "cathartic relief"? I used to either: stealth assassinate a parade of soldiers from back to front as they marched down the street, or hijack a tank and go on a nice peaceful pavement check, watching the gore to the sounds of The Blue Danube. Good times. Was my 3rd ever 360 game, so has a special place in my heart
I come back and watch this yearly. I’ve commented before but thank you Jack. This is a childhood game, and it’s awesome to watch you kill it every time! I’m still not complete so I have some envy here! 🎉
Bro, those were the days.. Caring about my gamerscore and getting as many achievements as I can. Thank you for the video and the nice vibes at the end "it was worth it" you don't hear that from many. Take my sub!
Damn I remember going for the plat back when it released together with my best friend. We initially made a hotseat night out of it and later played in shifts through the night because it was the last day before he had to return it (borrowed copy). Those were the days. Thank you for reminding me. Also the animations are as beautiful as I remember. Just sprinting through a traffic jam and watching all the jumps and flips performed automatically is a treat.
That title is a bit of an understatement, this trophy/achievement was definitely the hardest in the whole game. It was brutal. But it got me my 75th platinum trophy I was so happy.
I remember when this game first dropped. The hype was insane. Haven't thought of this game until youtube suggested this to me. I forgot it even existed. I hope it's a good video.
Really love the way you commentate. It's so chill and relaxed yet still entertaining. Nice to not have a gaming commentary channel yelling at you all the time for once! Keep it up, can't wait to see your channel explode! (Er, in a good way, like you did to Elizabeth Greene).
Just subscribed after binging all of your videos completing achievements. Can't wait to see what other games you have in your backlog to complete. My white Xbox 360 finally gave out after 14 years so recently getting a new one (this time a slim to avoid the heating issues again). You might be inspiring me to go back and try to finish some games myself once my new Xbox 360. (I frankly have a lot of LEGO games to 100% yet. XD)
Elizabeth greene bossfight, Graveyard devastator and cannonball + musclemass all I'll say, also bulletdive drop + Muscle mass is pretty insane against leaders or even just hunters who just get one shot even stronger than the blade airslice oh and whipfist streetsweeper is quite a killer aswell
I mean the power ball ultra ability was what I remember using against bosses. There's an attack where you spin up like a ball and lung at a target, if you upgrade it fully it becomes one of the games ultra attacks. Like the one in the teaser, where he slams the ground and massive blades shoot up all over. The power ball ultra is single target tho, and great at taking down 1 target.
This was my first game, for the new generation console 8D After only playing on ps2 previously, my eyes just melted, when I saw the graphics and the size of Prototype 8D I got every achievement, except 'Trail of Corpses'. I was on my 3rd playthrough on that point and grinding thousands of enemies was too much for me. I still have fond memories about it 8) It's a really fun game 8)
These videos are addicting EDIT: Really appreciate your honesty when you get stuck and have to look at guides, really shows how devoted you are to pure gameplay in a way by laying it all out there.
The way i did the Elizabeth Greene boss fight was with the blade, her homing projectiles do not pass terrain so if you climbed reeeealy high on one of the nearby buildings you could avoid them very easily and then i'd just throw the spin air attack with the blade from the top of the building (always aiming to the boss). From that hight, it would usually take 2 to 4 slashes to murder the health bars and then one more time (quickly) when it's down to destroy her actual life bar. She CAN stop your attacks with the homming green things, but if you time it properly they fly past you
I remember being stuck on that bossfight in times square when going for the hard difficulty trophy on ps4, i gave up and just played prototype 2 instead, i love both games but that trophy is just extremely hard for me for some reason
YES THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was so pumped when you replied I’ve been checking the channel daily 😅 Another amazing video of a game from my childhood. Thank you so much Jack. As someone with failing health this means the most! ❤
The only thing I'm missing for this game is the time trial trophies and it was one of those rare times I looked at a trophy list and just realised I couldn't be bothered with the grind it required. The game wasn't interesting enough for that.
There was actually one trick that made Raid INSANELY less of a trouble which managed to net me the plat in the first try. It's the friggin' Artilery Strike. I never used this skill before because it just seemed too much of a hassle to pull of in the midst of a busy battle. But after failing to make short work of the final wave of enemies every single time I figured I'd just give it a try. You wouldn't believe how much that skill was a game changer. If you've done it without Artilery Strike you're an absolute gaming god.
Elizabeth Greene is one of my favorite boss fights, and for that fight l just used the blade and shield powers. Just pull the shield up and run up to her and jump, then use the air slice ability, retreat and repeat.
I love this game but I haven’t been able to 100% it. The only achievements I’ve missed are the platinum medals for events and playing the game on hard.
So short little story: I got PROTOTYPE 2 on my ps3 a little while ago and set a goal to beat the game on the hardest difficulty which was I think was surprisingly not an achievement, but I went and did it anyway. (I usually do the hardest difficulty in games just so I don't have to deal with playing through it again and again) I swear the absolute hardest fight in that game was against the original protagonist (I forgot his name) and I literally had my hands shaking after about 3 whole hours of constantly grinding the bossfight until I won. One of the most stupid but satisfying things I've ever done. And it wasn't even like the other missions were that hard they were surprisingly easy on the hardest difficulty. If I had to score the difficulty I'd say that the rest of the game was about a somewhat decent 50-65/100 while the bossfight was a 200/100. There was no reason ithe bossfight had to be that janky tho 💀 Jack, if you ever decide to go and try to "101%" beat PROTOTYPE 2, please make sure you prepare enough time ahead for yourself!
I remember the Elizabeth fight, I run up to a nearby rooftop, then used the hammerfist slam ability over and over, it took a while but it let me avoid the hunters.
The side content in this game is genuinely SO GOOD! CHALLENGING AND FUN! Balanced REALLY well especially if you are going for Gold! Unfortunately, the controls are aged, pretty clunky and I genuinely think they can get in the way sometimes and getting used to them will take a good bit of practice. Not sure if it was intentional and it does make a difficulty curve of it's own, but part of it is magnified by the fact that you can run damn near 60 miles per hour so the slightest misstep is way exaggerated. I also found the Supreme Hunter and Elizabeth Greene fights to be enjoyable since as you mentioned the rest of the game is pretty much a breeze. A welcome change of pace, a couple true skill checks, which was really noticeable since when I fought them later on I saw actual improvements
Never usually go for 100% but i did promise myself to 100% all darksiders games and damn, 2 was really painful, probably not as bad as some of the games youve played, which made me respect the shit out of you, realised how much dedication it takes But damn it felt good to get it :D
Prototype (only the first one) was one of the very few games where the protagonist was something that could _never_ be truly good but yet did everything he could to be the lesser evil, it was also one of the few games were you were completely overpowered yet the game wasn't easy unless you cheesed it. I loved Alex Mercer as a character and I _hate_ how they ruined him in the second game (good gameplay but less powers and overly simplistic and needlessly vulgar main character along with the game being ridiculously easy even on max difficulty due to being effectively invincible the moment you get the shields and all collectibles/bonus mutations can be acquired easily as soon as you first arrive in a zone since the game legit guides you to them when close enough). Years ago I eventually 100% this game and I don't regret it since despite being one of the most challenging undertaking of it's time it was never boring.
There are quite some moves that are effective on Greene. Hammertoss, Musclemass Bulletdrop. You can fling yourself and time an air devastator. My favorite is flinging myself and doing pre-devastator air Musclemass attacks. Very slow, but kinda funny.
For the movement ones, the best thing is to do small jumps and air dash a lot. Dont glide unless you need to. For war, there can only be a limited amount of large infected at a time, so if you kill them all, they respawn in another wave. Killing the small infected is best. Also, tapping L2/LT makes time slow down, so its better to do that instead of holding it down, when dealing with hunters. For Kill, theres usually one move that does AOE that youre supposed to use, like steet sweeper or blade frenzy.
GG for completing this achievement list! I did this both on Xbox 360 and on the Remastered on Xbox One. I think if you found out about the falling attack with the Blade power earlier you would have beaten some bosses a lot quicker. From what I recall, it blows tanks up instantly on Easy and Normal, and leaves them next to destroyed on Hard. Besides this, I believe the other 2 Devastator attacks are quite reliable to deal damage. The "Kamehameha" looking one is definitely the best single-target damage attack. Out of the 1/3 of health you're allowed to take off from Elizabeth Greene in each phase, I think this attack shaves off like half or 1/3 of health. The Spike Devastator is also pretty useful for destroying her smaller health bars as it hits them all (and even destroys them in one go, if you manage to activate it while standing below her).
Bro I’m new to your channel but I’m really into rl (rocket league) so your name is Jack and your voice and Apparently Jack’s are uncanny I was convinced for a sec that he had a second channel grinding “platinums”😭😭 Great video tho love some painful achievement grinding 🙏🏾🙏🏾
If I remember it correctly there was this glitch where entering a fight in a challenge map and being on the brink of dying and quiting made you invincible for pretty much 99% of the game making difficulty a breeze except for the helicopter and tank missions.
I remember mostly relying on the sword and whip powers and using the hammer for tanks and groups, I didn't 100% it but seeing you use the whip he whole time felt off. iirc the sword was best for chunking down health bars, the whip was the safest option due to range and allowed you to grab a snack easier to top up hp, and the hammer tended to stun anything that survived. though I played 2 more and haven't played the original in some time because I haven't used my ps3 in forever.
I remember playing this at a friend place way back in high school when the game was somewhat new. I remember I just didn’t really play too much of it honestly. Forgot bout it til now.
As someone who platinumed this game twice (once on ps3 and once on ps4), I could NOT stand the landmarks and hints. Gompleting all of the plat missions? Pretty rough. The bloodtox missions and Greene? Not easy. Meticulously finding every single one of those stupid blue and pink orbs? Awful, just downright awful it's not even difficult its just mindless and time consuming. I wish they had something like how infamous does it, where mercer could detect nearby collectibles. Would've saved me so much time bc it was way more of a pain getting streetwise than it was getting rockhound or just one more in the infamous games. Regardless this is still one of my favorite games of all time, hence the two platinums, and I love seeing youtubers play it and give it the love it deserves. Great video.
I seem to recall the otherwise mostly useless muscleboost form being clutch for the Green fight. Literally just fling stuff at her for the fight. It's not FAST but I seem to recall it being safe.
Forgot all about this game! Remember getting it shorty after it released and found it boring as hell. Got about 90 mins into it and switched it off. Never ever went back to it. Nice video anyway brother 🤘
Nice to see prototype videos even nowadays. I did a bit of hunting about a year back. Only two achievements were actually hard in Prototype, rather than just time consuming, imo. Technically four. Streetwise and Polymath. For respectively all location and hint orbs throughout the city. They were technically hard, because at some point in time... people probably did these without guides. Fucking absurd to collect landmark orbs when half the time they're nestled in building corners or alleyways and don't always even load in properly until you're right on them. It made it fundamentally soul-crushing, to say nothing of the fact that there was *_200_* fucking orbs scattered randomly throughout the city, rather than having like 20 on ACTUAL LANDMARKS. I say they are technically hard only because I did them with a map when I actually wanted the achievement. With cloud saves and whatnot, I have a save file on my PS4 that's on about the 14th run of new game, and I have 120 landmarks total from playing through the game naturally over a dozen times. So yeah. The only two I consider legitimately difficult are Revenge Revisited and PT. Pt because there are a few events where you're in a tank fighting other tanks and APCs, and it's DIFFICULT to get those without dying unless you're on easy, and I've never played on anything but normal. And Revenge Revisited makes the game so fucking different. Prototype does NOT feel like it was ever actually balanced to be played on hard for a challenge, as a lot of encounters turn into you don't nothing but whipfisting from a distance or doing one or two safe attacks, rather than actually using your powers and feeling powerful. Hit and run becomes the name of the game, which doesn't feel like how the game should be played in many scenarios. I still feel salt in my throat from anger thinking back on the Greene fight and assaulting the Bloodtox Depot.
that greene fight got me most frustrated - after good 30 minutes of struggling i got her to about one or two hits left, (accidently?) jumped to hijack a heli and these fuckers just flew away from mission area and mission was failed.
This video was awesome, prototype it's an realy hard game And i got an sugestion if you have spider man web of shadows or any devil may cry try get some achivments at the game, dmc its realy hard
Strangely I finished this game just the other day so these achievements are fresh in my mind. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the achievements were a slog lol.
So I went back and checked, I have 3 missing achievements from this game. Hard Difficulty Kill 53’596 infected Collect the 200 blue orbs I have no memory of doing the Gold/Platinum medals but I have the achievements for them.
maan this game brings back a nostalgia, back where i am from, the internet cafe was just started, like only a few good ones. then this guy came out and no one but me and my buddies were playing this game, just in town destroying everything without a care of plot, achievements and etc 🤣🥲prob gonna play it now maybe. love ur content man keep it up :)
To make this easier on others this game unlike it's sequel has a throw power that was busted when upgraded, so much so that's why it's not in the sequel because it did that much damage even to bosses.
