Today I test a Prototype Skip Chain with narrow cut, Logosol sent to me for testing. I test it on my Logosol F2 sawmill with a Stihl MS391 chainsaw.
The chains are:
• Stihl PMX Picco with narrow cut
• Prototype Skip Chain with narrow cut

I will test little more, see so it keeps it sharpens. Boring if the chain goes dull too fast. Hopp everything is fine with you, my friend

Did you notice if the skip chain got dull faster? Less cutting teeth would be faster to sharpen but I would think they would also dull faster since less teeth has to do the same amount of work. Hence you would need to change chains more often which could lead to lost time in the end. Possibly?!? Awesome chain though! I want one too.

I think the skip chain stay sharp as long as a standard chain. I think a non skip chain fills the kerf with sawdust since there is no room to transport it out. And it cuts more in sawdust instead of wood.

Hälsningar från Finland Tobias! Have you tried to make an less than 90 degrees angle to blade doing some sledge and bar modification. Even standard chain and blade would work better in MS391. Changing blade angle would push more sawdust out of cut area? You can actually see bigger particles flying out on this skip chain while standard pushes more fine sawdust. There must be slowing effect as well. There is a similar angle in speedsaw E5 model1 blade?
