Brad Clark In Europe it is 3 phase 400V 16A. and in the US is 3-Phase, 220V, 40 amps. The cut gets better with the electric saw, guess it's because the chain has a higher speed.
Jeffrey Beyer agrees that it would be fun to try. Im try and see if any friends have a big saw I can borrow. Both to get to do a race against my electric saw. But would be fun to see the difference in the sawmill between my MS391 also
It would be interesting to see a comparison between the electric and the Stihl with more of a logging/competition fat belly chain bar. This would give more of an apples-to-apples bar shape and closer race. The electric is impressive with the speed it cuts and the amount of chips it's throwing out...no doubt about it. Nice video I enjoyed it.
Hey there ... Great vid! What's that electric motor rated at in horse power? You need three 1/4 inch holes in that 391 muffler and a retune on its carb... Like 20% more power....
How many KW? I've been thinking on building a mill and with my location at this house our backyards face each other and the other neighbors have complained to me about my buddy four houses done that cuts lots of fire wood making chainsaw noise... So the electric would work here where a gas engine wouldn't ... I'm glad for your video as not only do I now know there are electrics being made but I can now try to see specs and look at yours for the design...
Hey....Also, I see the twin (??? Bar Lube Jugs???) do they recommend a light oil? Regular bar lube? Or water? On mine I don't think I'd want to use bar lube because I want my boards for my house furnishings and shelves and whatnot????
I would think something like the Stihl MS 661 or MS 880 would be better comparisons. The MS 391 does not have enough horsepower to effectively use it in a sawmill. I bought the MS 661 for this purpose and am buying a MS 391 for crosscuts and limbing.
+Owen Johnson Yes it would be more fair. But at the same time, my electric saw (E5) is the smallest model of Speedsaw as Logosol sells, and MS391 is the smallest saw as Logosol recommend that you use
I have a 9 horsepower solo chainsaw and 10000 rpm and it cause slow still because it font really have 9 hp in it no chainsaw have the right foot pound on it but a induction motor do so the motor win alway r u can get a 18 hp gasoline engine dat work at the same
@@mattseymour8637 great saw, and the predecessor models were good as well, but for ripping, you really need 80CC or better. I had pretty good luck with an 056 super in red oak, but my MS441 struggled in green hickory of a smaller diameter.
@@Projectoftheday okej ganska tyken kommentar. Jämförelsen av sågarna gjorde du fenomenalt👍 Har sågat många stockar med 391an eller vad den nu heter så jag vet hur långsamt det går😅 man får känna av varvtal men matar man inte på rejält så kommer man ingenvart. Musiken i videon kunde du skippat🙃
@@neverlessdesign är 7 år sedan jag gjorde denna film, då använde jag bara gratis musik på nätet och den var inte direkt jättebra. Nu betalar jag för den så får betydligt bättre musik nu.
Very nice video. Electric is faster and not as noisy than the petrol version. I would prefer the electric. In my life i changed many things into electric. Lawn mower , chainsaw, family car. I like things doing their work with less noise an polution. MFG Dirk from Switzerland
@@69yenko65 because you need x times more energy to produce gas and oil until you have it into your chainsaw, insted you will use the electicity imediatly for the saw . I know, producing electricity is not clean every time. Producing batteries too. But i think Gas is gone and batteries can be charged many many times until you can recycle it. In europe to 96 % Sun is shinning every day and put much of ernergy on our planet. We only have to collect and use it. Im no green punk, i love my motorbike, but what i am able to do easily for our earth, i try. I work on my one lawn care service. I can tell you, if the wind does not blow, you will be in cloud of gas and you breath it. This is not healthy over a work day. MfG Dirk
Certainly there is a difference, many ask how much difference is there between my two saws. And here is the answer. And I use them both to cut boards, yes electric saw much stronger and more expensive
