I love these side by side comparison videos. Very helpful for those of us that haven't seen these plants in person. Seeing the differences really helps when trying to color coordinate with other plants.

Hello Heidi, happy New Year to you and your family! This is very helpful and much needed. I bougth some of these in little pots online, totally forgot about them and found them on Christmas Eve tucked away under the lower branches of our Juniper tree. I hope they will survive the winter here in zone 7b/8a in these tiny pots, now that I know how big they will be getting I have a better idea where to plant them. Thanks for the video! What a great idea showing them all side by side for comparison! PW needs to have some dwarf ones as well! I have so many of them showcased here and still need to add French Vanilla to my collection (I left space for that) but have run out of space for the other larger ones so need small and compact! Thank you for this Heidi :)

I think that is French Vanilla- www.gardencrossings.com/product/hibiscus-summerific-french-vanilla/ it just looks whiter than it really is.

I’ve had some Holy Grail since 2020 and they are my most favorite in the garden. When I seen they didn’t really seed out, I contacted PW and they said they are patented so the seeds were sterile. But do you know if they can be separated at the crown?? I seen a video the other day saying the life span of these were only 5 years. I have a 400’ fence and I’d like to line my fence with them, so wondering if separating this variety is an option? Thanks!

They can be split but make sure they are mature enough to do it. You don't want to kill the plant by trying when it is too young.

Wow this is awesome thanks for sharing!!! I just have a quick question I noticed between Mars madness and midnight marvel there was a white Hibiscus that you didn't give information on... what is it? I thought maybe it was the French vanilla - so I rewinded but the French vanilla has a reddish center. Which hibiscus is this one that just has the faints of yellow center?

That is more than likely a new up coming variety. There was no name label on it which they sometimes do in the trials.

What do you spray on them to keep the leaves from being skeletonized by small green worms? Do the different varieties come thru mutations or thru cross pollination?

Hi Heidi, I am in Toronto (Zone 5). I planted French vanilla last summer. It is middle of June ,have not seen any growth yet. Little bit worried. When Can I expect new growth in my area? Thank you.

Abt 12yrs ago I bought this little hibiscus plant I didn't know any thing about them at that time .Any way this is a prize hibiscus grows at least 10 ft to 12 ft. the branches are like bamboo. I,'ve even srcraped the middle part out of the branches to make sure of the bamboo. Yep..Mine has large white blossoms. I tried to find out where to find more. Can't find that kind. I cut it down to about 4 to 6 inches every fall.Can you help me. MAS.
