When my Paternal grandfather came here from Filtre (spelling?) Greece his name was Yanni Trimiris and at Ellis Island they changed it to John Trimmins. My Paternal Grandmother's name was Astrene Papastahthis , Astrene means star in Greek and is pretty in my opinion but my Yia Yia hated it so everyone called her Eva. Yia Yia's family was from Sparta and my Papou's family was from an area that was conquered by them I always found that so interesting. Yia Yia would always talk about Sparta and how I should be proud to be Spartan. She also said not many Greeks have real Spartan blood and all her siblings had blonde hair blue eyes my uncle Arthur had red hair and blue eyes. Supposedly the ancient Spartans looked like that which is strange because most Greeks have dark complexions. My mom is Irish, Scottish, and Norwegian from the opposite end of Europe!

Oh definitely that originally was one of the first videos I wanted to do, but since they're pretty well known I did videos on some lesser known Charlestown stories.
