ProZD Plays Pokemon Puzzle League // Ep 01: Misty's not that great 

I've seen every episode of the original series multiple times. This is definitely new animation made specifically for this game. 4Kids DID commission animation on at least one other occasion. Their release of the Celebi movie has a few extra scenes with Team Rocket that weren't in the Japanese version.

When Jay said this was his favourite puzzle game, he was (accidentally) foreshadowing this series. This was one of my first games, and def started my love of puzzle games. What I forgot is just how long it takes the blocks to clear, which really encourages you to start setting up a chain even if it's not your instinct to. And I'm with Steve, Blaine saying "when you're hot you're hot" lives rent-free in my head after all these years. I always find the repetitiveness of puzzle game characters' catch-phrases funny.

First indicator of a great game: *Comic Sans MS* in the title screen 17:20 As for me, the anime character I most resemble is "Psyduck". Hands down.

I haven't watched a single second of this video yet but would like to say one of the sound bites from this game has been living in my head rent free since 2000 Cloy-loy-loy-loyster

Idk why, but I always liked Hikari/Dawn more as a kid. Just thought her design was cute, and looked and acted more like the type of girl I'd be friends with irl.

I played the hell out of this game when I was little, and while I’m so happy to see it featured here, I’ve never had a stronger urge to backseat game 😂😂 This’ll definitely get me to pick up playing this again on my Switch though

For someone who loves Pokemon I surprisingly can't tell you what the first episode I ever saw on TV was. I was a very active child so my cartoon viewing wasn't structured it was just whatever happened to be on the rare occasions I had TV time on a Saturday(Otherwise I pretty much only watched PBS). By the time I watched any of the anime I was already quite familiar with Pokemon as a cultural phenomenon. I've actually been going back through the original season on Netflix and so far the only episode I remember having already seen before is the Lieutenant Surge one, so who knows maybe that was my first.

I love this game so much; This game is what started all of Nintendo's "Panel de Pon" style games being called "Puzzle League."

I sunk so many hours into this game as a kid. I completed all the puzzle modes and difficulty levels. Now I'm 30 and it's a lot harder than I remember 😂

I was fortunate enough to have Pokémon air on weekdays on syndication. It would show on tv right when school got out. It looped from the first episode of Pallet Town to when Charmander evolves into Charmeleon. I watched those episodes religiously until they started airing new episodes on Saturday mornings. Good times.

We've for sure seen that Oak-in-a-box freak out scene before. More than once. Stock footage+subsequential filler animation. More cost effective when all you want a Pokémon game to do is make you money without establishing new assets you have to pay people to create for you when you can recycle.

i was a kid during the height of pokemania which was wonderful, but i never had this game. i did have a friend in college who had it though and he was like THE puzzle league guy in his family. i managed to beat him, and truly coincidentally i never went over to his house again lmao

Wild that as hugely into Pokemon as I was as a kid and I had no clue this existed until today

I played this game right around when it came out. I remember going through the story mode on Easy through Hard, and then getting stuck on the endgame of Very Hard mode. I also remember the Team Rocket mode (I forget what it's called) where I think it got more difficult as you performed more combos and chains.

Damn I miss this game.

I kind of was okay with OG Misty, but disliked Anime Misty... for purely fashion oriented purposes, as I generally don't like tsundere tomboys anyway (that's my job!) with a few exceptions (Hilda is a queen). Rosa, Hilda, Dawn, and Serena were all total favorites (especially with Serena's haircut). Solid personalities, absolute drip, and besides Dawn they all had great teams. Though I never really quantified any of them as 'waifu' status... I did love the art style and some of the fashion choices, though! There's definitely a hard mental block on the 'Waifu' shelf for me... Cynthia and Diantha are probably the only two people in the franchise on that shelf for me, and I *would* fight to defend that take but do I really have to? They're more then capable of doing it themselves.
