Time to kick off the new 'TONES @ The Guitar Rack' video series with this killer high gain combo - PRS Tremonti + ENGL Steve Morse 100! For whatever reason, it never really made it on my radar. Started doing some research, and I really liked what I was seeing. Having it in hand, it definitely DOES NOT disappoint - it's got a home here for sure!

Honestly, it's been a LONG time since I've played an Invader. From my recollection, the Morse is more organic/balanced - it really impressed me from how I typically perceive ENGL!

Probably not your preferred answer, but recommend you do a little research and make a best judgement off what you find - a lot of information out there on these models. From my perspective, they all carry the 'ENGL voice', and the differences are very heavily based on personal player preferences/style. Good luck!

Hey man, killer playing!!! I wanted to ask you if the amps sounds good at low volumes? Bedroom volumes to be precise. Been eyeing this one for years now, I have no logical reason to move from a 25 watt amp to a 100 watt. The 25 watt rectoverb is loud already. Any input from you would help. Thanks

Hey Nigel - appreciate you watching! Yes, this specifically ENGL sounds great at bedroom levels. The master volume is very smooth (allows you to control down low, unlike the Rectifiers, which tend to have a quick/abrupt volume jump on the low range), and also has a very nice preamp gain/compression available to offset some of the speaker/power amp artifacts that would usually help at volume. It's counter intuitive for sure, but this is one of many 'large amps' that by design, do much better at low volume that some of these 'small wattage' offerings like the Rectoverb (which specifically tends to need some more volume to get rid of the preamp fizz/buzz). I hope that helps!

Hi Eric, I never got around to tell you, your reply convinced me and I pulled the trigger on the Engl Steve Morse amp. Your explanation about high watt amps being better at low volumes than lower watt amps really helped and it holds true man. Thanks a lot again
