You're assuming that the media format (Blu-ray, DVD) define the quality of the graphics. That's just wrong. For movies, you'd be correct. However, film on Blu-ray is different from games on Blu-ray. Film, you're essentially streaming the data from the DVD/Blu-ray at whatever bitrate the medium can handle. Your average 720p movie will be about 3-5GB uncompressed. It's then compressed and placed on a DVD that holds only about 4.7GB. The DVD player uses an algorithm/codec to uncompress the data and then deliver the audio/video to your tv. There's usually a buffer time to give the DVD player enough headroom to uncompress the data before you see it. Now, the reason Blu-ray is better quality? The average capacity for a Blu-ray movie is 10.6 times that size at a whopping 50GB. That's why Blu-ray will give a better quality than a DVD. You can still play 4K video game on normal old Blu-ray discs. Why? Because they can simply hold the install file on the disc. Your average AAA-title like CoD or GTA is about 42GB in size. That'll play from the disc just fine. Your 4K games can get to 80GB - 100GB in size. But there's 100GB Blu-ray discs and compression for them as well. You can compress the game to fit the disc, or split the file into TWO blu-ray discs (like GTA) and install them on your 500GB hard drive. Problem solved.

It's starting to act more like a PC now, which is nice IMO, allowing people to have more freedom of choice in how they want to play their games. I still don't think that I'll be trading in my PS4 for a PS4 Pro as soon as it releases. Probably will later in the future just to keep myself updated I guess. Also I have already switched to PC myself so I don't really care all too much about the PS4.

I suggest that it boosts your FPS to 60 and gives greater graphics and details on 1080 p resolution as compared to 4k 30fps. More details are evident and butter like gameplay. So it's also a great choice for 1080p users if they already do not own a ps4 yet. Cause it's just a mid generation refresh.

Actually, it's because your fan is dirty, and the air vents are blocked by dust. I cleaned mine by opening it up and using condensed air in a can/air duster to blow out the dust. It's SUPER quiet now.

Mine is never loud but it's probably because I clean my fan often and got an additional cooling fan

Had a Samsung - took it back, was rubbish, didn't look any better than 1080p to me.

do you have a 4k tv? of course you are going to say yes because I can't actually see what you have, but I doubt you do have a 4k anything because you "don't see a difference" of course you wont, because the device you are viewing on can't handle more than what ever the device is rated for. if my monitor only runs 1440p and I try to view 4k i will still see the same 1440p and it wont look different, because MY DEVICE CAN NOT RUN 4K.

resolution is the last thing display tech should be trying to improve. Clarity of motion and colour has a bigger impact. A 1080p OLED produces a better picture than any UHD LED. Unfortunately, only UHD OLEDs are available when looking at 65", because LG is pushing the same marketting scam as every other manufacturer - but I guarantee you, if you could get a 65" 1080p OLED it would produce a better image than any 65" UHD LED.

You cannot play games at 4k, at least natively. It is upscaled 1080p, which is a big difference. The 8gb rx 470 runs at 4.9 tf, so this sounds like it is a cut down/ downclocked variant which is indeed a relatively big jump from the previously used apus however, even a full fat 470 cant touch modern AAA titles at 4k, unless you are happy with low settings at 30ish fps. Im guessing they will upscale 1080p, put a bit of anti aliasing in there and bump the texture details a bit but thats all.

Its been almost 4 years since the PS4's release. Also, none of these are new consoles, they're just upgrades. You can stick with a normal PS4 and still be just fine. Think of it like how you don't necessarily need to buy the newest car on the market because your 2011 Toyota is just fine, and there's no real significant difference between the newer models and the old ones.

thegamekai lmao. i'm a pc user and the fact is, you can't run 4K at high settings on a 400$ piece of hardware. maybe 30 fps on lowest with some optimization. remember, a 600$ GPU can only get slightly close to playing 4K at good settings. remember a GPU with 9 Tflops, more than double the new PS4 and there's no way you can get that performance difference out with console optimization. not to talk about the fact they're still using that gross excuse of a cpu in the ps4 pro.

A gaming PC is more expensive than a console, but when you factor in the fact that PC gamers don't pay for online and generally pay less for games the price difference between a PS4 or Xbone and a cheap gaming PC isn't really that big. If you are willing to learn how to put it together from parts yourself (which is not really that difficult) then you can get a pretty good PC for a comparable price to a console. If you buy a prebuilt PC the difference is a bit bigger but still manageable.

i would disagree that it is more expensive. the PC is a great platform that allows you to pick your own parts to get your own graphical setting you prefer if it be budget or preference. if you build your pc yourself you can get a equivalent of what the ps4 offers for just as much. if you want to go above and beyond like most gamers do, Yeah, you can spend a shit ton of money for a great PC.

Slim is basically the regular ps4 just not as bulky and makes less noise. Pro can make games run way better if the developers make it run on it, you dont need 4k tv to make it look nice but if you do it will maximize the use of the pro
