Same here, Burns. I had a 360 and PS3 this gen and I chose which system to "main" solely on which controller I liked the most. As a result of that I always play multiplatform games on my 360 and use my PS3 for exclusives. Doing the same thing for next gen. Going to main the X1 because the controller is just so good. Feels the best, looks sexy, the rumble triggers are awesome, everything about that controller just screams quality, and the best part, no gimmicks.
Even if you put on a plumber custom and talk in a Italian accent, wear a green helmet on your head, scream out "You are not ready!" or glowing red or green and saying "we are your superior!" no matter what you have, when you play, how much you paid for, who you play with, or where you play at. we all bow to one thing and one thing only; Gaming regardless if you are a TRUE gamer or not. we can't deny that Gaming is AWESOME!
There are two types of people - The ones that watch a MMA match for the techniques and fighters performance - The ones that want one of those to knock the shit out of the other dude Sometimes you can't watch the Super Bowl expecting both teams to win
That was from an anon dev. John Carmack said that they are praticly the same. In the end though we wont know until the consoles are in peoples houses and we see for ourselves.
I'll admit the Wii was a step backwards, but the Wii U is pretty cool. Off-TV gameplay is really useful in a crowded living room and the controller's gyroscope and accelerometer are top knotch. It's specs are nearly twice that of 360 and PS3 and allows controller support for Gamepad, Wiimote, Pro Controller and a Camera nearly equivalent to Kinnect built into the pad. They're steadily working their way back to the core gamer audience. I'm happy to get Wii U and a conventional next gen console.
getting PS4 and HOPING i'll have enough money next month to get a X1 hoping BOTH consoles work too. I do admit its easy to get dragged into these spats with whos got the better console but back in the day it was more fun. Today its just disgusting, its like people live and breath off of their stroked egos and its amazing how childish people are ready to act at the first sign of bad news.
There is nothing wrong with thinking that a certain platform is better, and I enjoy debating other people on the subject. When you take it personally and start getting mad, that is when you become a fanboy.
my setup is PS3: For exclusives games, and blu ray player. 360: All my multiplats,Gears of war, and my friends are there. This time around PS4 might be for everything. Back in the day tho I never used to hear anything about console wars until 360/PS3/Wii era.
Wars of any kind will never cease, it's not just about consoles, just go on any sports channel or a bieber video. It's also not just on the internet. I dare you to start a conversation about either politics, sports or religion and you'll get heated conversations and peoples will act like kids.
Being a fanboy is cool it's cool to have loyalty to something u love but at the end of the day being a "Gamer" is a much higher title because u respect it all and just wanna play good games and have a good experience overall
I always been a both side of the party. But u know what i would play a online game wiht u anyday and the best part is i dont even know u nor have i seen your face. That how much of a true gamer i am.Respect :)
PS if I was at a press conference I would have to say it would be on holiday in an all new place with all new sights and sounds and being able to see something that I enjoy on the big screen with that atmosphere. I've got to say that would be a ton of fun. As for what you are saying, yes the console war is stupid I totally agree with you, but do you know why it exists in the first place. Might be worth while having a discussion about it. It's not confined to just gaming either.
Omg an American wearing an Australian rugby league hat. I know it's probably because Eastern Suburbs are the biggest sporting team with a rooster as its mascot but still, I'm impressed
Started out a Sega and Nintendo fan as well as PC and I still am. I also got into xbox and playstation and own all their consoles too :D The next thing to do is to head back and try out the others
I agree, fanboys and "console wars" are fun when you're 12, but as an adult who can afford them all it just doesn't make sense to miss out. Get em all if you can!
Your point is very true that wars will never cease but now it's coming to a point that it's just starting to get very annoying. For god sakes people are arguing over machines that do the exact same fucking thing.
It wasn't "wrong" what MS initially planned for Xbox One, at least in my opinion most of what they announced held much potential. Even now I don't really understand why people were/are SOOO upset about it... really? I personally hope, that they'll bring back some of the features (AND restrictions, there is no way around it on the long run) as an optional extra, though I fear many "gamers" will grab their torches and pitchforks in the minute they announce it.
It's good that their are two consoles having a battle because it forces the makers to deliver something. Like CoD never had a real opponent, but now that BF started to get more popular they try to make CoD Ghost a better product, and not a shitty game like the last one's. ( I'm not saying CoD Ghost is good nor am I saying the older BF games were bad)
i was an Xbox fan boy but i got into my PS3 because i got a bigger hard drive so i can download games day 1. love it. but i don't do trophies like i do achievements just because they take like 30 seconds to check what you got once you got it. achievements are instant.
Burnie really likes digital distribution, people think he's a weirdo for that... But he is wrong on something, like, liking how the XboxONE was before the changes.
If I could, I would also consider getting both PS4 and Xbone day one. But I can't and I am more familiar with Xbone games and Xbox in general, that I am getting them on day one.
The only reason why I ever want to get a console is for the exclusives. And the PS3 has a lot, I know the PS4 will have a lot of great exclusives as well. Ignore the community and fanbase if you can. I know it's hard, it's why I have so many issues with Apple for instance, but I need to better myself.
Thing is though, a 12 yr old was trying to argue with me that the XB1 was stronger than the PS4 because MS are a stronger company. In short, he had no idea what he was talking about.
I would love to buy an xbox one but I'm currently shy of about 100 dollars. I'm gonna have to get a ps4. Which I don't mind either. It also looks pretty good. Plus I didn't have a PS3 so I didn't get to enjoy all of their exclusives. Although when gaikai comes out, I guess I can play some of them. I'm not sure how that's going to work though.
And there are functions on the XBO that are faster then on the PS4. What in the end will result in better looking games is yet to be seen as no system stands out.
Yeah, I get that. I much prefer consoles over PC, but in terms of hardware we're always going to be way behind. That's why I hate console arguments over specs, it's like two fleas riding on an elephants back arguing over who's bigger.
I really would like to get all of them. Especially with the news that you can update your Xbone into a dev kit. Honesly, I really fucking would. But they're expensive. And one company is showing a simultaneous lower price and better performance. I've just got to make a decision.
