I am 77 . I never knew my dad was part of the D day landing until after he died i got his book with Veterans that served in ww2 from South Carolina after he died . He never talked about it. That is how i found out he won the Bronze star .
God bless your father and your family, growing up my father always told me to respect and honor those who have served as truthfully they've seen and done things most of us couldn't handle, I'm proud of this country and what we've earned fighting for it, most of these games capture the horrific sides of war, we're all blessed to be safe at home
Every single time I see these gameplays, I also think about how can my grandfather get alive like this. He is a 100-year-old man now, he always talk about how the war goes and looks like. Imaging that what if just one bullet hits my grandfather critical, I would not be able to type this message here guys.

@LaTorniole My grandfather is in Marine, and my father is now in Navy. As a military family member, these war histories are all rare to us. Just like you say, the Honor and Royalty are what they have at Omaha Beach on the D-Day. And thanks everyone who join the military and protect our countries. I really wish that I can tell my grandfather the stories about you sir, but he just passed away on 31st July. He is now with the Godfather, one day I will tell him about this🫡
Respect and sorrow for the men who lived and died through this horrible war. I couldn’t imagine having to experience that. I definitely would have froze up not wanting to fight and would have had ptsd if I came home alive. Just watching this is giving me chills.

i visited omaha beach a few wks ago. humbling, sobering place. fate of humanity was decided on that beach. if you ever get a chance to go, that and the cemetery nearby are pretty unbelievable . also amazing how 80 yrs went by, the world has learned nothing, and another world war knocking on the door, fate of humanity up in the air again...

The Germans called "Lebensraum" what in the Americas was called Manifest Destiny. There were no "good" guys or "bad" guys. Just guys trying to build and preserve their empires.
I went in the summer too. I ran through the waves onto the beach just to try and imagine the experience, of course it wasnt close. This game captured the look of the farmland well I think

How some of the soldiers survived D Day and lived to tell the Story is crazy, almost seemed like death was inevitable with the amount of firepower and weapons the Germans had.
Yes, and I bet never in a million years did they think that adults (including me) and even quite young children would pretend to be them in a 'game' safe and secure sat in front of a personal film screen showing the horrors of actual war.

@@csc-photo Could not agree more, initially in my early days back in the 1980s having retrained as a Maths Teacher (from the RAF and industry) I went on to become an IT Teacher and use and even promoted the very simple BBC games which included shooting type games mixed in with education ones. Never in a million years did I envisage such realistic blood and gore of soldiers fighting battles in many men's memory. Back in the early 1970s in the RAF I took up Tae Kwon DO and my master was a South Korea Major who actually fought with the Americans in the Vietnam War, primarily going down into the Vietcong tunnels with just a knife and taking them out. He was a very tough man but after a session in the Naffi having a beer, he would mentor us on many aspects' life. He rarely ever spoke of his time in battle but when he did, he left me in no doubt it was not like the movies, it changed him greatly, never left him and it certainly was never like a game, I bet he would certainly agree with your uncle. As such his teachings, especially when far more realistic PC war games came out, I always felt somewhat guilty if tried to play one and now as an old, I feel quite disgusted at how young people can enjoy and get so wrapped up in experiencing such real life battle killing.
You watch/play this and can’t help to think the young men who went to war and died. Saddens me to think where we are today and how these men would be screaming at us for our societal failures, despite their ultimate sacrifice.
I played medal of honor back in 2003 on PC. I remember stacking on the beach not able to advance because machine guns got me every time I tried to run on the shore. Finally I figured out those Anti-tank hedgehogs must have been a shelter.

No, it can't compete with first Medal of Honor 1998. Realistic models and graphics are not the grant of good special effects. More important things are physics and sound effects. Models in this game are well made but, they prompt like plastic toy soldiers when they get hit. Physically human body never act like that when it gets shot. You can see how human dies when it gets shot in Saving Private Ryan by Steven Spielberg.
This was awsome! I wish they would do a Canadian version of this because The Canadians took more ground than anyone else on D Day. With good reason due to vengeance on what happened in Dieppe in 1942.
In the 70’s when I was like 5 or something my grandfather was talking about landing on the beaches…..of course in my mind I’m picturing them pull up on the beach and set up some tents and have a nice drink and some lunch. Had no concept of it at the time.
In my opinion this still has to be the best call of duty game out there and for a ps4 game hold up really well graphically. I’ve played it a dozen times now on ps5 and I still love it.
@@RJ6AV6That was my very first game on PS2. I was always stuck at the first mission, arriving on the beach until I learned that there were different levels. I bought every medal of honor after that, they were all great. And the first Call of Duty was great.

Coming from hell let loose I can’t handle having to shoot the enemy several times to put him down. All cod has to do is put one shot kill and I’d buy it.
@@gilbertthebushwacker8704 to add to your point, a huge portion of troops stationed in the east were redeployed too the west. However, ppsh-41s were highly coveted by many Germans and those stationed at normandy were not their best troops, huge portion were conscripts from other countries.
What if the foremost boats all had detachable fronts that could be formed together as a shield on the beach? Deciding that those people had to be fodder was careless.

Yeah I love this game, even today. Disappointed in the video post making it out as a realistic 4k uhd, when it's not. Does have potential to be turned into a movie, but cod just won't do it. Not even for the amazing zombies mode for cod ww2😅😢
Wow I heard about this platform and now that I have seen a preview I sure won't buy it. The game could have used a realism advisor. Everything from the sherman and half track wrecks to the corrugated steel being put in sideways, add to that the age of the German soldiers and their equipment and their prepared position. All in all pretty unrealistic.
Samey samey samey, looks like just another war game that we played 20 yrs ago. Heck, Mohaa and the other games had better gameplay. Gameplay in these new AAA games is all similar. All these graphics, cinematics, just gets forgotten a couple months later.
I hate that they need to emphasize the individuals by having one with rolled up sleeves and not all wearing the haversack. Would be a lot cooler if they were wearing all the gear, and confusing and realistic.
