I sincerely enjoy some bayonet action. Not many uses anymore, but at least the ak bayonet doubles as a crappy wire cutter!

Usually anything other than 30s is a little overkill anyway with weight. It is sometimes worth running a 20 rnd with the dong. Makes reloads a bit easier, but I don't know that it's worth losing 10 rnds

A lot of companies just call them a slant brake. They're actually very affordable and come standard on many AKs. I believe you can get them for less than $20. Not a huge difference in felt recoil but it does seem to keep the muzzle down a bit

I am honestly not sure. I would need to reach out to PSA but I doubt they'd respond to little ol me. From the little I've researched them it seems like people get pretty conflicted on whether or not to use them in semi auto builds. Given this rifle is supposed to be a military parts kit, I guess it would come down to whether the Romanians used them, and whether PSA kept true to that.

I believe it will. As with all ak handguards and such it may take a bit of fitting on your end.

Bro Lex Luther how are you going to remove the sexy dong to put that tactical modern stuff on? Obviously it’s yours and idc what you do to it but goodness sake man the reverse dong on this baby is one of the sexiest things I’ve ever laid my eyes on(asides for Yanet Garcia) and anyway I would use a different AK to put modern rails on and leave the seductive reverse dong on this one.

I think the gf3 would serve just fine for a long time. The only thing that really sets the gf5 apart is the premium barrel. If you're going to be jacking around and plinking for the most part, the 3 is probably the way to go. If you're really worried about the barrel lasting forever, I'd go with the 5.

Also, the underfolder is almost only for cool factor. They sort of suck to shoot compared to any other stock. That said, I do like the "Romanian/Chinese" underfolder angle better than the straight back "polish" angle for sure. Simply saves the face from some of the beating. I am also a wimp.

From what I understand this rifle is a romanian kit with the fn barrel and psa receiver. The downward angle suggests the trunion is romanian. The polish akms that we have has a straight angle on the folder, unlike the downward cant of the romanian.

@triplefshooting the angle is determined by the holes in the arms of the stock not the trunnion and a actual romanian trunnion only has 2 rivets I have built 2 pm md 65 kits and seen several others

Most mags seem to fit just fine. Romanians are a good way to start since the parts kit is romanian. If yours is an American made Gf5 you're probably still ok with those. The Bulgarian polymer or steel mags also seem to be a fit across the few aks we have. The only issues I've had are the US Palm mags and the Croation mags.

Considering original Chinese AKs cost a fortune now, I'd go romanian unless you're collecting. As far as general design I'm sure people would argue for one or the other, but they both seem to work just fine. Lots of people crapped on the Chinese aks when they were regularly imported, but they were good quality. The romanian aks can be all over the place depending on who's doing the importing and such. Quite a few kit builds out there now, so research the builder a bit before buying if it makes you nervous.
