Psalm 128 has been referred to as the Psalm for men. As Proverbs 31 is for women, Psalm 128 is for men. It’s a Psalm about the faith forged family and the central role that the father plays. Men do not have the sole responsibility in the home, but they do have the leading responsibility in the home. And this Psalm will tell us that for the man who keeps God at the center of his family, he will be blessed with divine blessing. Our Summer in the Psalms series, explores one of the most diverse books of the Bible and the wisdom in these songs of worship to God. The Psalms remind us of God’s love, nature and grace, and allow us to see from a new perspective how God walks with us through every trial and rejoices in our every triumph. It covers every dimension of human weakness, sorrow, fear, doubt, discouragement, sin, and need. It reflects on the loneliness of feeling distant from God and the comfort of being near God.
