Pseudoregalia is a must-play 3D platformer. The adventure boasts a lovingly crafted world developed with a strong sense of appreciation for the genre. Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness (an expanded Castlevania 64) is one of my top favorite games. Which is why I got this game.

Oooh, a challenging 3D platformer. 6USD for a high quality one sounds like insane value. Really hard to do due to perspective issues and whatnot, wonder if the dev has some Hat in Time gems bookmarked.

I had never heard of this so i searched it on steam and it said it had been excluded from my preferences?! Need to sort that shit. Castlevania 64 is one of my favourite N64 games (I know, nostalgia though) so definitely buying this

definitely nostalgia, i revisited it and it didnt feel as good, that one part where you gotta jump up that platformed wall with carrie has one of the worst cameras. but shes my fave character to play as so conflicted

So one question about that comment you made about beginners to 3D platformers should be wary (thanks for that by the way) how would you rate it for someone who indeed hasn't really played any 3D platformers but has deep familiarity with metroidvanias? Do you think there is some overlap for me to compensate for the unfamiliarity?

Yeah that got me so excited until the PC part came up (as a PS5 gamer). Unfortunately for me, it’s PC only. That info wasn’t as easy to find as I would have expected online!

I just want to remind everyone that Castlevania 64 is actually a good game. Most people that talk bad about it have never even played it. The only thing that is objectively bad about it, is the camera. But that’s a Nintendo 64 thing in general. Even Super Mario 64 had a bad camera, and most people consider that the best game on the platform.

Anthropomorphic goat, that also has a long tail just because. Furries love to make Creatures that don't 1:1 line up with a specific animal.

@@mcvc1840 I'm over 30 years old I'm well aware of mascot platformers. I also know for a fact that in this case it *is* a furry thing, made by furries and initially pitched to a furry audience.

The second you mentioned Mario, it tells me how limited your scope of 3d platformers happens to be. Please play better or at least more 3d platformers that aren't Sonic or Mario, I promise there are more.

Sure there are more, but the goal in writing this review isn’t to show off what obscure platformers they’ve played, it’s to give people an idea of what to expect from this game. The best way to do that is to compare it to a good baseline game most people will be familiar with, and there’s literally nothing better than Mario for that purpose.

PC isn't really an "exclusive" so much as it's the one platform you can just put stuff out on. It's not like the dev did it as part of an exclusivity deal or anything, they might not even know *how* to port it to consoles let alone provide support for them. At the very least they might not wanna deal with the red tape of getting it on consoles. Not to say consoles are worse, I'm just saying it's a bit different than why Bloodborne is only on Playstation.
