Nagarjunna didn't debate with Shankara. Both were not evem contemporary. The works of Nagarjuna were refuted by later once like Gadapada and the Shankara in him eorks attacked the Anatman etc. The thing eith debates is that I tgink if Nagarjuna borm later to Shankara the again he would have refuted same eith Shankara. The point I was trying to make is that anyone working in the field of AI would know that the current models that are showing some properties of human-like intelligence, like Chat GPT for example, are just points (local minima) in the abstract space of parameters of some mathematical function. In that sense, intelligence exists independent of the material world. The common argument among atheists like Dawkins, Hitchens, Shermer, etc is that intelligence arises out of matter. They use a term called "emergence" to denote this process. My point of view, which is derived from Chomsky's old lecture on "Matter and Mind" (in a different context, available on RU-vid) is that intelligence may not require matter to exist. Matter can "generate" realities which intelligence can process and interpret. The psychedelic experience I was alluding to is this "generated alternate reality" where the same experiencer's intelligence perceives a different reality and in that sense is independent of material reality . This is also somewhat of Advaitin's or probably the Samkhya point of view of Prakriti and Purusha. Hardcore atheists who are pure materialists should look at this interesting point of view. It does not contradict atheism per se, just adds more nuance to the topic.

Its is exactly bunch of numbers (wights and bias) , we need to add the bias to the weights and multiply the input to this bunch of numbers to get an output. What you are describing is digital computation and the 1 don't mean charge , it means voltage ( since we are using FETs). The on / off pattern is programmed but it is done to do basic math like addition and substation and other operations like fetching data from a memory location. So basically computer is nothing but a fancy calculator The weights I mentioned above are coefficients of a higher order function , thats why he said it can exist as an abstract concept. But it to manifest we need some martial be it a GPU / CPU or even pen and paper. And btw digital is not the the only way to run an AI , we can do it with analog system where numbers can be treated as continuousness values and after the matrix vector multiplications we can convert back it into digital for further applications.
