@Gmail Account your point being??? are you arguing semantics? Do you have a problem with my use of the English language? Why add the “Thank You,” when adding little to no value to the conversation. No one made the argument that illness defined the person. I mean I’m legally blind and use speech-to-text to respond or make comments online and via text. Errors often happen, making corrections are difficult and unfortunately tends to create more errors. AUTOcorrect will often incorrectly correct me. Standard blind peoples problems. Being online is still an even playing field. Or we can all communicate and get our points across effectively, if we try to. I also had to deal with 16 deaths during the pandemic, ended up in a nursing home with my young self because I caught Covid twice and it almost took my life. Side note: it was a terrifying look as to what people who have aged will likely deal with / will suffer through when they are placed in homes like that permanently… I was stuck in a hospital bed and It was H E L L! I had to slowly re-learn how to walk again. But that’s life! It throws curveballs but it’s up to us to learn how to swing. cause every person you come across online is going to have some sort of issue, or view take that differs from yours, and, unless it’s just overly offensive and or is straight coming for you, I don’t see any reason to get bent. The times when I overly emoted online had more to do with my issues than anyone else. I don’t understand how you read my comment and decided to stand on a little soapbox to lecture me on the appropriateness when speaking on abilities. But hey, tis the net… feel free sound off. My stance remains the same. Pam took advantage of a person that she took charge of, because of HIS mental health. She being a Mental Health Professional as well as family manipulated him into committing a heinous act. So IMO she’s sicker than him. She played on the gravity of his disorder along with his wants and needs as a human being… if you disagree with my stance, that’s one thing but please don’t use me to create a narrative.

You typically need to have some kind of justice system involvement or a malpractice case, to have your license taken away. The licensing board cannot meaningfully investigate in their own. They really rely on courts to figure out if complaints are legitimate. No idea why she was able to practice for so long, except that it maybe no one complained to the board and told them what was going on. Or, maybe they did complain, but she had really good legal representation with the licensing board, and she was able to keep her license because of that.

My therapist really manipulated me . She had almost no boundaries at all. She had me doing all kinds of things that were persomal, like cleaning her house; taking care of her kids, and doing other personal jpbs 4 her. Also, she pressured me to change religions to hers (leave christianity) and i had to pay monthly dues to belong. Also, she very often took me out of state with her to religious retreats which cost me several hundred dollars each , where we shared a tent while camping. I could go on forever. This lasted 12 years. I found out in the end that for the last several years that she had not been billing my insurance in case she was questioned, she could say she wasnt treating me. That way she couldnt get in trouble. Yet she was still charging me my co pay every time we met [3x/ wk.]. It was really screwed up. Shes old and retired now. I am a psychotherapist. Dr. Grande is mistaken or naïve; the industry of psychology/counselling/psychotherapy is infested with manipulators pretending to be society's good and caring people. I believe the most cunning hateful and manipulative psychopaths gather in this industry and I expect that one day in the future the lid will get blown off and the public will know how morally corrupt the industry is. Most clients do not know they are being manipulated or for what purpose. Edit: From what I have seen, psychiatry is generally healthy. It is psychology and the counselling therapies where the manipulators thrive.

Professionals of kinds can easily manipulate their clients. It's a play in the power of the relationship. A father can manipulate his children, a teacher his students, mental expert his client etc. The person in the higher status can easily manipulate the vulnerable child, student, client etc., especially after he develops a facade of being trust worthy, sincerely interested, etc. It becomes more difficult for the person in position of authority to do this if the parent-child, teacher-child, mental health expert-client relationship is not isolated from members of the wider community.

As he had been previously diagnosed as bipolar, should that not count as a mitigating factor in determining his sentence? I feel bad for Jake because he put his trust in professionals including his cousin and was manipulated until he wound up in prison. I wonder if his cousin's practice took a nosedive. I hope Calder's father got custody of him and his father regained his health and Calder grows up to be a fine young man. @@ambercrombie789 my wife had to fake her death to get away from my father after she spent a few months not believing me how abusive he is, she finally figured it out when he tried to kidnap our son. So no, there will be zero forgiveness. I don't have to forgive anyone. God forgives, I don't. I have to carry a gun in case he ever comes back and I'm in my 40s. So no... no forgiveness. I'm glad you found peace. If God were good he'd take my father from this world today

Only Dr. Grande can inject appropriate humor into an attempted murder case. Seriously though, it's unbelievable she didn't receive a longer prison sentence. I can't imagine the guilt Jake's parents feel after placing him in her home & "care".

I surely hope Jake gets some lasting help while in prison although that's usually not the case. But sometimes. His life hasn't been easy at all. As for Pamela....her behavior and manipulation are just beyond words. Jake's parents must truly be devastated. I know I would be in their place.

Charlene- there's another video where Jake's parents are interviewed, and you'd be surprised what a smart, happy, high-achieving kid he was before his 'break'....yes his Mom in particular is very hurt for the situation he's in. But he'll be free at a young enough age to hopefully get effective counseling that will, because of his relative youth, make a difference.

Hello Dr. Grande🤗 Thank you for the new video! I've been lying in my bed trying to figure out something interesting & good quality to watch right this moment & there's ZERO better answer/choice than your videos. Boundaries are important in all professional relationships. That and the presumption of special training are the core of professional relationships. Your architect, engineer, financial advisor or faculty advisor are just as restricted by boundaries as is your therapist. I am pretty sure that the therapist here got a social class pass for her evil intent. This is built into the court system just as it's built into all social systems. Where penalties should be heaviest, they are most lenient.

The person who looks the most unstable is Pamela. She didn't seem to care how she got her way, as long as she gained the upper hand by any means necessary. She might have her freedom one day, but not her child. And Michael might be alive and well and have full custody at the moment, but he may spend a great deal of time looking over his shoulder.
