The 54 Meteor gets a quieter yet throaty upgrade, I take a trip to get some parts for the car and browse some old Fords in a friends yard! Watch and see likely the only Ford Skyliner with a fuel injected Flathead V8!!

By 1954 the US made Fords had the first overhead valve engines. '53 was the last year for the flathead in the states.

True, but I just read that the Canadian Ford Motor Division was a year late in introducing The OHV engine. It was put in Ford cars in 1955. Even so, I love those old flatheads!

Nice Job! You know if the scuffs aren't too bad on that windscreen an auto glazier should be able to buff them out or at least improve them. Us "colonies" are lucky getting the flatty for an extra year. We got lots of flathead Fords to 1952 ( still got the 51 twin spinner here in 52) then not so many flatheads because the English Mk 1 Zephyrs came on line displacing the Canadian based Fords to a large degree. Regards from NZ.

Cars back in those days were built to last hence all the grease fittings not like the throw away stuff built today. I love the old flatheads and hearing them run. This was a very interesting video with the old cars your friend owns thanks so much, cheers.

Sounding great with the new exhaust. I'm amazed how well the old Holley "teapot" performs. Mine has a slight hesitation I can't get rid of. Great collection at Sktoon as well.
@ParklandFilms

Yes, the teapot has been great, nearly flawless. I had a big hesitation and it turned out to be a combo of defective plug wires and the Vacuum advance unhooked inside the distributor. Maybe check those...

You do a real nice video my friend. I want to see every viable car put back on the road. That Meteor is a way better value than 5942 modern cars I could name. It's going to take a lot of people with a lot of heart to do it but these cars must be saved, and driven.

Bit of roof flashing and some number 9 wire and you could have patched that exhaust pipe and muffler . . . ;) I'd be suprized if that was the original exhaust system, the miles as a bit too many. But who knows without documentation . . . Love the way the new door matches!

I don't mean to be rude, but why put so much emphasis on "original" parts if they're completely destroyed? Now, if the "original" exhaust was in GOOD condition, that would merit some emphasis. Like, 50 year old upholstery that is still in good condition. That is worthy of note. Pointing out that the original exhaust has rotten away to non-existence is..... about as pointless as my rant! LOL
@ParklandFilms
@ParklandFilms 2 года назад
Ya I was just excited about the car overall, and the fact the muffler had paint on it was strange.
