Thank you guys for taking such a heart-felt, emotional journey and sharing it with us all. This just happened to show up at the top of my home page today, one of the days that i needed to see it the most i think... I remember hearing about Chris's story shortly after it had happened, and I've always felt a kindred spirit with him and his story, eventhough I was only in high school at the time. Even back then I was jealous of what he had gotten to experience, and if given the chance I would've dropped everything and been right there by his side in a heartbeat. Over the years I have read the book and watched the movie at least a hundred times if not more. (not exaggerating at all... I've gone through 2 copies of the dvd and even kept the original that I had rented from the local video store because after watching it for the first time, I couldn't stop watching it - probably at least 3-4 times just that first day, and I just had to own it, it was so beautifully done) It is my favorite go to movie of all time, for both inspiration and when I need a good cry. Thank you again for making such a touching and honorable tribute to Chris, his story, the "magic bus", and his message to us all. Of course I had always wanted to pick up and leave everything behind to go see the bus for myself, and of course now when my life has fallen into complete shambles and I really don't have anything holding me back anymore, the dream of my own spiritual journey could never happen now that it's gone... But today, while watching your video, as I was welled up with tears the whole way through, I felt such an enormous rush of peace come over me, peace that I hadn't felt in such a long time. It truly felt as if I was right there with you guys. So thank you again for sharing with us all. ~Much love ❤ and godspeed! 🙌

This was a great series. Thanks for sharing it! Loved the visit to The Bus, and how well the Mercury held up! Side note: driving across Georgia in our 20 year old 2000 Suburban the alternator died. Not using ANY accessories, just driving, we only made it about 2 hours. Old cars rule.

It's great to get away and sort through your feelings and anguish/trauma. But if you dont have anyone to help you recognize what you've unpacked and/or discoveted and what to do with it, you're actually going to regress. That regression opens the door to depression and many other mental health problems. He was not a survivalist on any level. He was an emotionally unstable young man who felt betrayed by the people he trusted, so he decided not to trust anyone but himself to know how to live.

Can totally surmise what that old car smelled like; a mix of gasoline, stale cigs, synthetic materials all minor notes to the overall musty smell from years of condensation ... Love it! Way better than the new car smell imo

Kinda cheating lads. Like getting a helicopter to the top of Everest hopping off for a bit to explain the emotions then jumping back on and back down to safety in luxury. Undermines the whole process. I said cheating but I think fraud is a better word. Two frauds.

Amazing video. Sad that the magic bus isn't there anymore. I know its being saved and restored, I just wish more people could have experience the treck out to the bus. I think Chris would have wanted it to be on the trail not in some place you have to pay to see it behind a rope. The journey to the bus may have ended afew lives, it saved wayy more peoples spirits

Our government ships billions of our dollars to other countries ,and their response to a rescue is the reason for pulling that bus ? B.S. people of adventure or even people crossing the street in front of their house take risks! This is just another example of how BIG Brother controls us and our money without ANY regard as to how we feel about it ! Look at the life enhancing effects this has been for the people that have taken this journey and are willing to share with us.

If I remember correctly, I think the bus blew a piston, they couldn't get it fixed, or get it moved, so it was set up to be an outpost for people to camp at. Now, due to so many people getting stuck out in the middle of nowhere, the bus has been moved to a museum. Kicker is that.. well... If Chris had gone up or down stream(I can't remember which direction), at the time he was out there, that river had a steel cable across it so hunters could cross during the hunting season. If he had actually wanted to leave and go back to civilization, he could have.

Morbid curiosity is like a car crash no matter how hard you try , just can't look away....these guys are beaming over Chris's tragic legacy in the bus / coffin...Touching his things is a bit to far and his own family discarded his stuff like trash.......Those who visit his death site are trying to understand why....It's not for them to understand.....

The story to me of Chris is someone who wanted to be out from the system but took for granted all the things that make life easy, his failure serves as what not to do and how important it is to be prepared
