Dr. Shannon Curry , the psychologist hired by Johnny Depp, responds to the questions of Amber Heard's lawyer. My reaction #AmberHeard #JohnnyDepp #ShannonCurry #Trial
@@AprilScott-ke9fn Too true. It's truly embarrassing and you can see the stark difference between how the respective legal teams conducted themselves, if only in the punitive damages. Amber got $0 and Johnny was supposed to get $5 million. 5 million dollars to compensate for the sincere unprofessionalism, argumentative behavior, and just all around being an incredibly rude and disrespectful team towards both himself and the witnesses his team called. Elaine is absolutely pathetic and the fact she was listed annually on the top lawyers in America list for the last 20+ years is *shocking* after this trial. Like arguing with the judge alone when she wasn't getting the answers she wanted would've been cause for me to not have any shred of respect for her as a legal professional, but everything else was just the icing on the ABYSMAL cake. Can you tell yet that I still feel pretty passionately about this case and my sincere dislike for Amber's legal team? 😂
Shitty lawyer indeed. She asks the stupidest questions. Muffins? Makeup? Jewelry? What has any of those things got to do with this case? Omg she is non stop badgering. She's trying to put words in to Dr. Curry's mouth. But Dr. Curry is too smart to fall for her crap.
But if you look in her eyes at quite a few moments she has the “about to slap the shit out of this bitch for being ridiculous and constantly repeating shit I answered”
While I agree that the lawyer is being dogged in her approach to these proceedings, I’d argue that it is her job. She’s trying the throw the psychologist off kilter so that she slips and says something usable for Heard’s legal team. While this is certainly an openly rude method to take, I wouldn’t yet judge the lawyer as a person given that this is likely in her job description. By that same token, the psychologist is handling this wonderfully, explaining where necessary and being as accurate and direct as possible.
I LOVE the fact that multiple times, Dr. Curry manages to say, in effect, “I do remember that testimony BECAUSE I FELT IT WAS INACCURATE.” Why Elaine continued to allow her to insert that into the transcript I don’t know, but it was wonderfully effective in emphasizing for the jury that the testimony on which the defense was relying was not dispositive.
The whole point of this circus is manipulating the jury of thinking what Elaine wants is correct because Elaine repeated it and got the Psychologist to say "yes" she recalled hearing that testimony ( i.e. : bullshit claims from Heard repeated by someone else ).
Wow… even though this lawyer is condescending, rude and trying everything she can to get a reaction, it all backfired and makes her look it’s her first time in court 😂
Just by the look of the messy desk of Heard’s lawyers, and the multiple paper shoveling going on you can tell the extent of their disorganization, confusion and incompetence!
My wife is super organized retired principal and would never be like this. You keep your appear in binders, with tabs for locating what you’re looking for in a second without shuffling them. Then you put post it nots on them for reference points. Never loose papers.
That lawyer is trying to hard to manipulate and stop her from explaining herself because she knows that Heard is guilty. She’s trying to make it seem like she’s biased all cause of a damn interview that took place in Johnny Depps home because his legal team couldnt meet her in her office 💀 But the ONE TIME she meets in her office with Heard, it’s a problem when she brings muffins 💀💀💀
Can't believe how the lawyer keeps complaining about "extraneous" details when she's the one trying to frame the testimonies by intentionally leaving out the "extraneous" details in questioning. I am both appalled by such manipulation of truth by a lawwoman and awed with the psychologist's ability to identify and correct such framing, every single time. You do not mess with a psychologist, they sure can see right through it. The clip speaks for itself.
That's her JOB as a lawyer. Her JOB is to try and discredit the witness. This is a great witness though; she is excellent at responding to and resisting the attempts to discredit her.
My great uncles a trial lawyer and he says he feels bad for Amber just because her lawyers are so bad and out of their league compared to Johnnys lawyers. Her lawyer is actually doing more damage to Ambers case than Johnnys.
Yep Amber’s lawyers were indeed awful, but it is also the case that Ambers situation was un-winnable… meaning that they were presented with such overwhelming evidence against her that their only recourse was to attack the people presenting the evidence rather than attack the evidence in itself.
Based on the way she has had to pause for extended periods of time to think of questions in the past, I think she was actually “prepared” for this one. She doesn’t seem to be able to wing it well
❌ counts of lying under oath ❌ counts of assault ❌ counts of false allegations ❌ counts of defamation And whatever the charge is for shitting in someone's bed. Like SEND HER TO PRISON ALREADY.
This is a civil trial, not a criminal trial. The question isn't whether she's going to prison, it's whether she's paying the $50 million in damages to Mr. Depp for defamation
That’s besides the point. She should be in prison for everything she has done, and has gotten off with a mere fine in a civil trial. To this day, white female journalists continue to apologize and enable her criminal behavior in false biased op-eds.
The lawyer becomes more pitiful with each passing minute. She latches onto the most flimsy object to try to stay afloat, such as trying to distinguish between "many times" and "many, many times", and when that line of enquiry gets the treatment it deserves she becomes belligerent. Dr Shannon Curry, an actual professional, keeps her cool while the lawyer loses hers. A very bad day in court for a bad lawyer.
This expert has patience and an extreme ability to answer soo nonchalantly.. the way the therapist blinks and her facial expressions are absolutely priceless
Decided to revisit this & I’m still amazed at how all over the place, frazzled, & unprepared Amber’s side is. At 3:37 she asks Dr. Curry what she recalls (with the notes) in deciding to make her opinions about this case…then gets flustered when its not going her way and changes the question.
she tried to fuck with a professional psychologist. She was clearly attempting to get the witness to make a mistake and then landslide after that. it didnt work, so she gets desperate, and the psychologist literally has a degree in identifying that sort of behavior and addressing it. dog saw what it thought was a kitten, turned out to be a tiger many witnesses will say "no, but..." and get cut off, she just says "thats incorrect" or "thats not quite right" forcing the lawyer to ask her whats incorrect and giving her the opportunity to correct the story, and the lawyer cannot stop it without looking like an idiot cause her own question is being answered its a master class of using the lawyers bullshit tactics against her. fucking Uno reverse
Why is the lawyer asking the witness “do you recall this other doctor saying their opinion which is opposite of yours?” Rather than calling the other doctor as a witness… or asking this psychologist what her opinion actually is…
That's what i thought too. I guess it because the other doctors opinion doesn't really favour AH as much as her lawyer made us to believe. Elaine won't be able to twist the wording like this if the real doctor that treated AH take the stand.
I don't know about the case but she's so good with words, like she sees exactly what that lawyer is trying to do and twist it back "it can be a characteristic of a lot of things, it is something that can be weaponized if somebody is having RAGE toward their partner" which she said before she recalls Heard having
Exactly why is a psychologist (a third party who isn't directly involved in the case) being asked over and over again what other people's statements were, 'do you remember this person claiming that' and so on? Like, what is the actual relevance for the evidence finding and getting to the truth? If she does or doesn't remember, it doesn't change what those people testified, nor does it make any more or less true, right?!
I love how in spite of the lawyer trying to play word games, Dr Curry stayed calm and made it clear what was correct and not correct. Like when the lawyer asked if it was true that she wouldn't know one way or the other if Depp had a disorder and all she said was "That was not my task".
EB outclassed in every move. This witness you cannot shake. She is far better educated than you in every way shape and form - and she doesn't lie, unlike some people you could mention... Unlike your witness... she does NOT need notes to recall what she wrote or reported. This witness SHINES and you will always be in the shade compared to her. I bet it really pissed you off. GOOD..!
Elaine: "Do you have perfect, photographic memory of these tiny details that have nothing to do with your job or role in this trial?" Dr. Curry: "I--No, I don't recall." Elaine: "Ah." No, Elaine that's not the win you seem to think it was.
This laywers attitude is terrible she has a very combative attitude with witnesses. She appears gleeful if she thinks she has tripped them up with evidence she has, or is rude when they provide evidence contrary to what she is portraying by denying her statements and proving her wrong. This witness really rattled her cage with her professionalism and collected manner.
Even after a year has passed... Elaine should really get the help of Dr. Curry. This is after all the trauma she endured in this trial, showing all her inadequacies.
Lawyer: Do you recall that Dr. Blostein saying JD had rage. Psychologist: No I recall him saying Amber had rage. Wow! That backfired! Lol, this shit show is the best reality TV series I've seen in a long time.
