That you chose suicide prevention day to react to Truce is very special. Many of us are going through a bad time in our lives, sometimes we don't even want to get out of bed, but listening to Truce and the other TØP songs gives us hope, reminds us that we are not alone, that every day is a new beginning. and a new opportunity to do things better. I love your videos
I listened to this song a whole night and i cried a lot. The day after contacted psychiatric clinic and the social service center. Now, i have been sober for 3 year. Thank you TØP ❤️
something very special that i noticed from listening to this song alone but attentive , if you pay very close attention , the song has no back up vocals that repeat anything back EXCEPT the lyrics “hope i’m not my only friend”. for this lyrics there is a small reverbed/echo-y vocal that repeats “only friend” - i noticed that and got CHILLS i can’t un hear it , it adds such a heavy impact cause that’s Tyler’s way of say he IS his only friends. he is the only one that repeats the lyrics back to him, reminding himself that he is really his only friend at the end of the night
At the concerts, the audience sings this song to the band. In the live videos of this song you hear people in the audience scream "I DID!" Then the crowd cheers so loudly for them. These are people who attempted/thought about suicide and they are saying to them that they chose to live instead of taking their life. It is a very emotional experience.
This is a beautiful song.. and I love Tyler’s voice.. I found myself crying when I saw them in Charlotte, I didn’t expect it but it was just so beautiful
For many of us, the night is when the scary and dark voices come. It's when you're alone and it's quiet and there aren't distractions of the day to keep them quiet. Also, there's a version of just the crowds singing along karaoke style. It's the most amazing thing you will watch tbh
I’m glad you will be able to see them live in concert! Tyler has said that the music is therapy, but the concerts are a celebration. He consistently encourages people to stay alive, that it’s worth it, and those aren’t just empty words or a trite sentiment to him. He knows the pain and struggle to stay alive. The success they’ve achieved enables that message to spread and touch even more people. And their concerts are amazing! It’s interesting going through the journey that Tyler has channeled through his music. Early on he felt the power of music and wanted to use it in a way that not only helped him battle his own internal demons and insecurities, but could also help and inspire others. It’s heartbreaking seeing how much pain he was in but it gave him empathy for others. This song in particular has touched so many in their darkest moments. I’ve heard people say that they listen to it each night before going to bed. His voice is so pure and vulnerable in this song, accentuated by the piano. And the video isn’t something they had to make, there were probably some who tried to talk him out of it, but if it saves one person it was worth it. Stay alive frens ||-//
I love this song. I went through a hard time last year when I miscarried my second baby. Twenty One Pilots music helped me get through the darkest time in my life and when it was time to announce that my husband and I were expecting our rainbow baby we used the quote "the sun will rise and we will try again" for our announcement. ❤️ You will love seeing them in concert! I saw them in October and it was an amazing experience.
I have seen them live twice. Once on the bandito tour and once on the icy tour in Dallas. They always put on an amazing show and during the bandito tour they played neon gravestones and hearing it live is just something else.
This is the most stripped down version of TOP songs that speaks directly to the fans. Tyler is speaking directly to the fans that he is one of them and is asking them to stay with him and they will work through together.
I get what you mean about knowing what your client/patient needs. I was a mammographer for 7 years and an X-ray tech for 17. I felt like I had a skill in knowing what my patients needed in order to get through unpleasant, but necessary, exams. I could be goofy and distracting or comforting and empathetic. I was able to figure out what they needed. It is not something you can learn. I am sure people have had healthcare professionals who they felt did not understand them, and some that they felt were exactly what they needed. If not for an extreme downturn of management I would still be doing my job. I miss my people. I miss being able to be there for them because everyone needs that person, the right person, at the right time. I feel like I was that person for a lot of them. I wish we could all have that desire. To go out in the world and be who others need- to make a ripple effect of empathy- not to our own detriment. It can be taxing to give of ourselves too much. But if we all gave a little more positivity out into the world, we would need so much from others to be better. TOP has been what a lot of people need at exactly the right time. They have been a musical emotional shoulder for so many people to lean on, or cry on, or stand on. They might not be BIG like Beyonce or Taylor Swift or their ilk, but the strength and power of their music and their mental health influence is matched by no other. 2 in a million...
Wow for some reason the word Truce came into my mind and I was like "let me see if there's a new TOP reaction video" and there's this one. There's a video of this song performed live and when he sings "stay alive, stay alive for me", a girl from the crows screams with a cracked voice "I DIIIIIDDD". Everyone screamed and clapped. I remember it all the time and it brings tears to my eyes.
For me, stress comes out in nightmares and physical ill health. It also exasperates my mental health issues. Over the years, it built up so bad that the weight of it broken me and shattered my coping mechanisms.
I'm from Hong Kong and this is a wonderful song that bring peace and encouragement during quarantine. You have presented the song perfectly, thanks a lot
I listen to this every time in at the hospital before I get put under general anesthesia. I have it on loop on my phone until I’m knocked out every time and will next Friday as well.
One of the most profound experiences I've had in life was during the Bandito Tour, my first TOP concert. Tyler and Josh left the stage and this song played for us. The lyrics appeared across the screen and the entire audience sang together. It was so beautiful and moving. That's when I became part of the 'we' that is this band, and Tyler's words ring so true - "We're twenty one pilots and so are you!" Stay alive, fren! 💛 |-/ 💛 💙🤍💙
Saw you in Hailie and Brit's chat. I hope she takes you up on your offer! I'd love the insight from you guys. Also one of my fave TØP songs. It's so haunting yet beautiful. Thanks for the reaction!

This is the song that literally saved my life pills in hand water in the other listening to a playlist my friend had sent me and this song came on. If it hadn't I would be dead right now no doubt.
Please hear me and react to Hotel Books - I Died With You, there is so much to unpack, the song has so many messages and I would love to hear your thought process on it
