This song is kind of an anthem for the Clique. When I heard Leave the City for the first time and he sang "In time I will leave the city but for now I will stay alive." I straight up cried, tears streaming down my face because of this song and what it does for so many people.

Tyler has said, I think, that this song is an ode to the 2013 and it even was uploaded exactly in the 31th of December of that year. I take this song like a closure to their albums and that's what the "The sun will rise... and we will try again" means to me, it kinda says "Don't worry, this isn't the end, this isn't a goodbye it's just a see you later. Stay alive, we are going to comeback but don't worry, you're not alone, we are all with you". This song is so simple but so incredible at the same time.

Dude thank you so much. The theme of the whole vessel album is talking about the night and what people struggle with at night, so this song is basically saying “it’s ok, I know you struggle at night but the night will end we will try again”. In an interview Tyler was asked about this song and he said “it happens to be a moment where it was only me and the piano and I thought to myself, man I really wanna wrap up the record in a way that is really standing for something and saying something” he says. “It talks about self awareness and also mental health, i wanna communicate with these kids that i get it I understand” he continues “And as long as you don’t do anything stupid and to hurt yourself then I won’t and we won’t and we’ll continue trying to figure some of the questions out” he ends it. No matter what happens to me in my life I always find myself coming back to this song, it’s a consistent reminder to me for a lot of stuff that I forget sometimes, and it’s definitely one of the reasons why I’m still around, i will forever be grateful for this song and this band.

This song, Lovely, Not today and Leave the city have saved my life so many times. When we (the crowd) were singing this to Tyler and Josh we were all holding signs that said stay alive we still need you

If you like the vibe of this one, consider following it up with "Before You Start Your Day." I believe there are only lyric videos and a few fan-made ones, almost like short films. While it shares a similar delicate quality, it is still very much its own song, if that makes sense. It has a beauty all its own, IMHO, and I think you will absolutely be moved by it.
