I am not a truck driver it looks so much easier to do truck driving in the states then the uk. Also are you allowed to use your phone when driving in the US as you can't in the uk.
Been in school doing the Swift school in Fontana as a Private student day 5 today. Spent all day in the yard doing backing maneuvers parallel, off set and learned alley dock. Hate the pre trip studying so much stuff to remember!

For me I’m currently in cdl school as well, I just can’t drive manual, controlling the truck I’m fine with it’s just the shifting and the clutch (especially the clutch lol)but for the sake of money and time I decided to just switch over to automatic, cause at my school the “pre trip” seems to be the focus point, not actually learning to drive, at least when I was practicing with a manual, have yet to drive in a auto but soon cause of scheduling sake btw wish you the best and hope you get your cdl

You talked today about being a safe driver and you do seem to be Chez, but you do have one really dangerous habit. Using and interacting with your phone whilst driving, it’s so dangerous. I’m an ex paramedic and the amount of accidents I’ve dealt with caused by using phone whilst driving. Please work on it and be safe, also did you know a DOT officer or cop can give you a ticket based on seeing you use your phone on a RU-vid vid? I’m not so sure how long you have to wait after getting your normal DL, you might need a year experience with normal DL or maybe some companies would hire you right away just not so sure, and I would recommend going to a local school because they are cheaper if you can’t find any I would call bunch of companies and see and compare prices because I heard swift is charging 8k now which is super high
@@AlexCrack8 depends on what your definition of "local" is, technically you can get a CDL at 18 you just cannot leave the state and travel nationally until you turn 21
