Good job Al. On a different subject, for an 02 5 speed manual, I have seen folks use gear oil (me too) in the shifter housing. FM Miata says grease. What is your recommendation? Dave from Mississippi.
Al, We discussed a new, yet leaking transmission rear propeller shaft seal the other day. After an engine remove and replace job. The shaft was soaked upon 1 start. I removed the seal, inspected it and found no issue and reinstalled it. BUT.....while under the car, my son noticed a lot of oil in the exhaust pipe. Started the car and sure enough more oil was ejected right onto the shaft. Conclusion: the engine was inverted for a while when I corrected the oil pan issue. Oil settled in the top plus the Mystery Oil I shot into the bores found its way into the exhaust and got blown out. Live and Learn. Thought you might get a chuckle out of this. 🙂
Your basics starts al wrong. car electronics are switchted to neutral not on fase. So you got the battery -> fuse -> lightbulb -> switch -> neutral (earth). Small but very important difference.
@@dionj67 in house installations the switch is before the load. But in automotive it's common that the switch is behind the load. Why it"s important, because your load wil always be hot. It takes a different approach of measuring things. If you don't know this difference, you going to end up with a lot of surprices trying to find a malfunction.
@@dionj67 for example. You bought a new light for you kitchen. When the switch is before the load, it's relative safe to change the light when the switch is off. Is that same switch behind the light, you might end up dead even when the switch is off.
