I was dragged up on motorbikes and I can remember my Dad's older brother having a Lambretta. I think what you have done is capture the exact essence of why most two wheeled enthusiasts ride, it isn't a leisure thing for those that love it, its an intimate knowledge of the machine and the satisfaction of getting an unloved example in regular use. Anyone can buy a machine and throw it in the shop for services, but then you never really get to know it. I've loved watching your content and I can't wait for the results of the 1000m trip to drop.
Apologies if your comments have ‘disappeared’… I uploaded this last night but had to take it down/delete it edit it re upload this morning due to a music copyright ‘hit’ In the do!.. it’s just taken 5 hours to upload again… wtf!
Brilliant series of videos, really enjoyed watching them and have now made the decision to go with the Scootopia 185 kit after deliberating over a few options. Keep it up ✊ KFC 😂
Watched it again & loved it again. Got the blues bros reference at the beginning. Always got my eye for an old Lammy S3 but as you know they are few & far between & crazy expensive. Yeah watch out for the old music playing in the background trick... Karen award, excellent! I get stick from 'real' adv/motorcyclists when I'm out on my ct. Funny thing though, I've ridden 1000's of kms on dirt roads & never seen one of them. But at the local cafe.... Bring on the dyno!
Came acros ur vid of the orignal paint but abandon 40 odd years. Had to have a look at ur rescue of this lambretta and ride to belgium and home. U make great vids .and ur funny too. Keep on been dangerous.
I absolutely love your videos…what a great mixture, so different from a lot of other RU-vid videos!! For a moment there I thought you were actually “Sticky”!!!!!!!! Keep up the good….KTF….KFC….Lol
I didn't watch part 1 yet because you came up randomly, I did enjoy part 2 as well, I'm not a scooter person generally (MT09), I subscribed though, great content.@@teampacemaker
Really enjoyed all 3 parts on this and looking forward to part 4. Well put together, great filming and good skills on the tools. Some lovely people in cameo at the rally etc *subscribed *
What an amazing series of 3 videos. Absolutely loved them all. You encapsulated all that is involved in getting these pains in the arses on the road and enjoying the adventures on them. You caught the atmosphere of the ride there the rally and the ride back. Was anyone like me just waiting for the engine to die on you 🤣🤣. Brilliant film making. Can’t wait till the next ones ❤❤
Great series and love your suck it and see attitude to building your scooter. Look forward to more builds and adventures. The only part you need to fish the scoot off is the Chelsea toolbox door 😎👌🏾
I haven't had this much fun watching stuff on RU-vid in ages! Both your personality and your filmmaking skills are very, very good (I was in the business for quite some time...). And your mechanic skills are w-a-y above my pay grade! Yes, I subbed. And you will henceforth be known as "Olde Bloody Pehrvehrt." See you on the next video...and kfc.
Great series, have loved watching your videos and brought back memories of when I last rode a scooter in way back in 1986, an Italian 125 DL. Now a subscriber :)
@@derekwalton6498 excellent!!! 👍🏼👍🏼… great news..well done, you know it makes sense! 😃, enjoy… good choice of lambretta too! My advice is only change what needs to be changed… original parts are far superior quality to remade stuff….
@@derekwalton6498 do it do it!- everyone likes a restoration video!… My other piece of advice would be to buy sticky’s spanner’s guide manual… Good luck! 💙
Thank you so much, I was suffering brain drain and was definately loosing the plot here with my latest woes until I saw this, you have gone a long way to restoring my faith, brilliant well done. I'm
One thing I do enjoy is watching people tackle real good restoration project, which the Lambretta was, & seeing the reliablity of the end result GREAT JOB DONE. I am not a real scooterman, (having riden full sized tyred motorcycles most of my life) but I brought a Piaggio mp3 earlier this year! having never riden any 3 wheel vehicle or scooter powered engine with twist and go. The mp3 suprised me with it's pick up from the lights / junctions over a trad motorcycle, it has given me a different out look on scooter style motorcyles (I can say that becouse anything based on two wheels is classed as motorcyle (tax disc reasons) & the Piaggia designer hated yes motorcycles 🤣. I admire the community sprit of both sides of the two wheel camp (may I also add in MC club a member Len would turn up on his 90cc Honda Cub This was the 1980's and treated with respect at our camping rallies.
Cheers fella… yep iv just unloaded the new project -uk barn find lambretta that hasn’t been on the road for 44 years!…(great history too!)… just got to do some real work to pay the mortgage then get on it in a few weeks time…😊
Bloody excellent three videos, loved watching them..the last one was the icing on the cake though, It was a very enjoyable watch, looked like a good crack that trip !
Thanks ever-so-much for sharing your build & adventure. It ws fantastic to watch. I really admire you mechanically minded people who can strip, repair, re-build everything. I loose nuts just changing a wheel. Your lambretta looks & sounds great. Your little tent was pretty cool too (where can i get one ?). Thanks again for a great trilogy. 😊
Loved it. Ace to see all those old LI 1 s and old Sportiques. Cant work out why there were no BSA Sunbeams or Triumph Tigressses, or even a Tina, can you ? All the best Keith.
Excellent , dont how I got here but that was so much fun to watch Thank you It Reminded me of when we were given a 150 Lamberetta in 1983 that had sat in a neighbours garage for about 25 years undercover, it even ran on the petrol in the tank even if it was a bit stinky at the time, I really didnt want my Dad to sell that it was beautiful and a rare thing to see these days. We also had an old 3 speed 50cc post office bike that had very similar gearing on it. Love the patternation on the scooter, please dont paint it. Thanks again.
You did… I had to take it down because of a copyright hit (music at the do)… and re edit it.. I tried to up load it this morning and it took till 2pm to unload/get checked/approved !!!
7:53 E-type! 3.8? BEAUTIFUL! (said Enzo Ferrari, upon seeing it on its launch at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961). He loved Mini's (real ones) too. Bet he also had a Lambretta! :0)
Abel and brown motorcycle tent…. Packs up ultra small because there’s no poles… here’s my review- don’t bother if A) you have a scooter B) there’s any chance of rain C) there’s any chance of wind 💨 D) you are planning to camp for more than one night… E) there’s more than one of you Other than that it is very well made, light ,small and looks cool!….
Excellent videos, only remark is the spoken parts are considerably quiter than the music sections which has me adjusting the Volume quite a bit. Loved the Rally footage and hoep you had a good time (I was on the rat blue and white Series 2 with the leopard skin seat cover and the Texaco -sticker on the side)
Hi 👋🏼, yes it was a cool weekend!.. and I’m possibly going this year but not 100% yet (new venue looks good 👍🏼). Re the sound- you are actually the first person to mention this.. and I was watching this back not long ago on a laptop and I thought the same thing… however iv not noticed it watching on the tv or my smartphone.. I will look into that… what did you watch it on? , was it every spoken part on all the videos? Or just this one?… obvs the spoken parts are part of the video and the music is laid over the top… will definitely investigate this as that is annoying!
Thanks Rob!, I look forward to roasting more scooter Karen’s in the future… this guy seemed to be a bit miffed that I hadn’t welded rubber mat to the legshields like I said I was going to 🤷🏼♂️😃
Hey bugger RU-vid and it's lousy comments. What you do is proper top it's the very essence of scootering. this is well appreciated! Keep The Faith! It'l NEVER be over for us
Brilliant stuff, found your channel via a comment on cobweb garage vid. Played catch up watching all of your vids, liked the lot & subscribed. Considering I'm a 1984 Vespa PX owner/amateur mechanic I do watch a hell of a lot of Lammy vids & I wouldn't have it any other way, they are stunning looking scoots, bit out of my price range though. However, your vids really do inspire the maybe I should look into getting hold of a basket case that would otherwise get scrapped mindset. Look forward to seeing more in the future, you've got a really good style, I know how much work goes into film making as a one man outfit.
Cheers dude… re prices.. this ‘only’ cost £800 initially … and really the only bits missing were the wheels and hub’s which you can pick up cheap.. and of course because i didn’t need to spray it or do any bodywork it’s been a fairly cheap build…
@@teampacemaker £800 wow that's very interesting! I do have a look on that lambretta finder website (the Belgian one I think) every now & then. Cheers for the info.
All are welcome to Waasmunster Lambretta weekend. It’s a very nice weekender with lots of familiar faces. And yes, Belgian beers are have a healthy alcohol content 😂
really interresting things, love the way you try to keep all originals parts Two questions from my side, definitively don't need spare wheel anymore?and front drum brake is enought ?
Front drum brakes are great if they are set up right and you have decent shocks and springs 👍🏼 I took 2 inner tubes with me (and tools)… I didn’t want to risk trying to bolt a spare wheel holder to the rusty legshields/bolts… and that rear rack was one I had already and i didn’t want to shell out for another!

Bonjour! Just had a bit of a binge watch after stumbling across your channel. Was great to see a lot of the Roadrunners are still the same (albeit a bit difficult to recognise since I was in the club what with all the extra weight and grey hair lol) Think you pulled it off re it not being the same old same old riding video 👍 I’m very quickly realising there’s only so much videos you can do of a headset (even if the scenery is stunning) if you’re a boring old feck like me. Spooky thing… Had a message from somebody and they had a letter from the DVLA. Seems somebody wants to register an old lammy that is in my name still. Thing is, it went to an address that I lived in about 30 years ago and it was looking rough then and have no idea what happened to it. Whether I gave it away, sold it, or left it somewhere. Pretty sure I just let somebody have it though. I tended to do stupid stuff like that back then 😣
Ha!, hi Dave, yes the roadrunners are still going strong (most of them!) the ride comment was really to stop people from turning off at the start knowing there was 30 mins to go!… what lammy was it?… No ones mentioned about registering/finding a lambretta lately ?!… mind you it capillary be out of the area?…
@@teampacemaker Well, it worked! At least, it did for me lol ‘My’ lammy was a li150. I’m thinking I gave it to somebody from Thame tbh. Know I def gave them a PX200 (I did a lot of sofa surfing at theirs over the years lol) so that would make sense. Ah. Forgot to say. I saw that you did everything on your phone? That’s bloody impressive! I’ve just spent over a week trying to transfer and edit footage from my GoPro and am on the verge of throwing everything out the window (but I guess that’s what happens when you try and edit 4k on an iPad/iPhone/laptop that first saw action on the ark)🙄 MFI 🖖🏾
Cheers dude… just a normal old school 12v bulb and new remade standard front light!… i few people have asked that! But nothing special… I am using a 120w bgm stator though… which could well be the difference?…
@@teampacemaker Thanks. I guess 120w is the way to go. Looking forward to part 4. I’ve got the Scootopia kit waiting to be built up this winter, so interested in your set up.
@@williamr3840 I did think about signwriting on the legshields but thought the o natural organic look was best for this one… I don’t think it needs it… it looks great as it is…
