Had a successful public land turkey hunt only to come back to my boat and find it missing. appeal @ www.doityourselfhunter.com Mobil hunters expo @doityourselfhunter9031
if they wanna steal from me,,,,,, might just sting a little,,,,, back in my day if you mis behaved you got your butt hurt, that made you not to do it anymore, , that is what is wrong with the world today, love your videos jeremy, awesome job, glad it worked out for ya
Glad you were able to restrain yourself in this situation,it is a shame people would do this but I think you made the right call and I am glad he didn’t harm your boat🤙
I think we all would want to be able to confront the guy and I believe lots of us on here wanted you to be able to but you made the dude choice. Never know what could have took place. Glad you got to paddle back out the way you came in. Safe travels to you sir
Good thing you got your raft back in tact! He could have like you said sabotage it once he saw you. There’s lowlifes everywhere you go. We just gotta keep our cool. The Montana trip sounds amazing. Cool your involving your family. You guys are inspiring me. Love the content.
They say that our prefrontal cortex doesnt mature until the late 20s. Im sure that if you were in your early 20s you wouldnt have hesitated to let them pellets fly. Most likely, the long outcome afterwards wouldn't have been worth the expense of a new raft. Well managed, sir.
I’m in Indiana, I’ll guess a local who spotted it and took advantage. Folks riding 4 wheelers on public land often disregard the rules, commonly coming from adjoining properties. Indiana has many public acres, but non of it is remote. With today’s mobile hunter, and a good hike, everything is accessible here.
I’m always getting checked in HNF cause I have KY tags. Finally I told a “concerned ranger” they need to get a grip on folks turning it into an atv playground would be nice.
@@SOKYRIDGERUNNER That would mean the Ranger would actually have to work. Same in MS, people buy all these SXS's and 4 wheelers, they gonna ride them. I had a gobbler working mid morning on some CORPs property a few years ago and a group riding run him off, when I approached them they acted offended that I would even say something. Rangers were called, and they ignored it and stayed in their air conditioned office.
@@bigblock67camaro right me and you both know the gig! If I (an out of starter) said something it would be extra offensive even though we pay a premium to pay for funds that get allocated for the National Forest and conservation. Hell they minus well charge a permit to ride then at least they’d be getting something and have others to keep them busy!
Jeremy, you done the right thing, you're a great guy and I watch all of your videos and love the content. I don't think I could have let him go. Kudos to you for keeping your cool and better judgement.
You did the right thing but it's sad that some sorry SOB can't keep their thieven hands off your stuff..Awesome hunts you been on keep the videos coming ...Love watching them
Good job keeping your cool. You have an awesome boat and that young man just couldn't keep his hands off it. Whenever I see someone else's gear in the woods, I just keep moving. I think about all the hard work they did to afford what they bought and I never even consider stealing it. What a shame.
You are a good man. I don't think I would have handled that the right way like you did. I don't have a brain in my head when i lose my temper and that's caused some unecessary trouble for myself. I admire you for the way you handled it. It's a crying shame you can't go enjoy a hunt without some low rent stealing your stuff.
Well Sir, May God Bless You, for being the sportsman you are, walking it off so to speak, thinking things through before acting upon initial thoughts, you show more character as a true sportsman this way, I cannot say I would have had the same mindset in that situation, I hope indeed that I would, as I do try to think things through before acting, but to have someone follow you that distance to take something that was not theirs is rotten for sure, very glad you got your boat back unharmed, and you not being harmed either. You definitely portray the characteristics of what a true sportsman is, thank you for sharing, looking forward to more of your content.
I'd much rather see you behind the camera than behind bars. Stuff can turn around quik in situations like that and I'm glad it worked out that you got your boat, didn't have a court date and you Got The Turkey!! Well done!!
I am glad he was that far from you when you realized the boat was stolen! I am sure it would have been different if it were an up close encounter! Your a hell of a lot cooler than I am .People will not tolerate a thief in my neck of the woods!
I would definitely call the local PD to inform them of the thief. And definitely bring along a couple extra trail cameras to set up in places to look over your vehicle or boat while a field. Good luck on the bear hunt!!!
You inspired me to give turkey hunting a go this year... having never been before it was a great challenge. Ended the season with no kill but had a great time every trio in Alabama beautiful public land.. seen plenty of turkey just couldn't make it happen.
What I like most about your content is you are down to earth and I can tell you are a good person with a big heart. I'm sorry this happened to you buddy and I pray it never happens again. You don't deserve it. It could of been worse though. Thank you for your time of day and commitment. Be safe out there and God bless.
Buddy, from what you said, I'd do the same thing from what you said and maybe a little more. Keep up the content man, it's greatly appreciated. God Bless
I see what you mean about not being able to lock it. Another idea is take one of your camo trail cameras, hide the boat & put a camera near it. At least you'd get a face. (Same for your vehicle) Glad you got it back. My thoughts... I'd have for Sure given him an ear full at 80 yds! 😅
You’re a good man. Good lesson to share brother. I hate to say it but this here is a different world than we grew up in. I’ve been thinking how silly crap is gonna become the norm on public ground much like it has on our roads out at the mall etc like the rest of the world is trending. Pray you’re always blessed wherever your path takes you! Hope you have a great trip!
Man glad u was able to somewhat remain calm hard to say what I would of done but once I was sure that was my boat any shells I had may have been flying down that way. I kayak into alot of spots and will now definitely take the time to hide mine better. Glad you was able to recover all your belongings
You did right frog.. you had a good hunt ,got you a fine turkey and scared that thief bad enough that you got your boat back. Believe me God will get him back he will pay for that one way or the other. It is sad tho that we can't even trust brother outdoorsman to not do the right thing
Really sad us hunters have to deal with people like that. Alot of the reason I hunt is to get away from people and make memories with my daughter. And being a father of a daughter that loves hunting and we mainly hunt public land I'm always on alert especially walking back out after dark to the parking lot. Thanks for the great videos!
You made the right decision! I myself would have struggled to make the right choice. Definitely not worth going to jail for some jerk like that! Glad you got it back undamaged and had a great hunt! I struggle all the time with trust these days! Sad to say!
You definitely did the right thing because this day and time if you peppered his ass he would have you locked up. The thieves usually come out on top these days with this screwed up judicial system. I hate a thief.
Think just bout anyone woulda had the thought of peppering the ole boy! Not everyone has Common curtesy. Good luck up north, hoping i can get up there soon for a antelop hunt.
Good video and glad you got your boat back. Curious though why you felt safe enough to go to somewhere unknown and leave your stuff thinking no one would take it? Seems if you play with fire eventually you get burnt. Had the same thing happen to me with my treestand. I learned. Assumed no one would take it and I was wrong. Don't assume no one will take your stuff.
I don't go through life worrying about what could happen. Yes there a chance but very low percentage. I been doing this a long time and this was the first incident.
Man glad you got your boat back, and probably wise choice on your part. It would have been hard not to put some TSS up his back end. But probably would have e just caused more problems for ya. Dang shame way world is these days
That sucks brotha. You probably did the right thing but I can see the temptation. I would be checking with a warden on my rights in that situation for the next time that happens. Great content and props for doing the right thing.
You handled it the correct way,I’m not sure how I would have reacted if I was in your situation. But just like you said a thief is a worthless pos and wasn’t worth the cost of a tss shell.
You said it best, I don't have anything for worthless people like that. Your a great person Jeremy and you wonder why people disappear in the woods and are never seen again. Glad it worked out for you.
I suspect that the legal issues you would have had would have been far more severe than the physical issues he would have had. But I totally understand. I am glad you were able to retrain yourself. But more importantly, I am glad you got your pack raft back. Those things are expensive. What has me scratching my head is why the guy didn’t just take the paddle instead of taking it apart and using half of it.
All I can say is there was probably some behind the scenes words said to make him park that boat lol. Like stop or I’ll pepper your ass haha. Love watching you boys your channel is a huge inspiration keep it up buddy. 👍
Glad you got it back. Best not to draw on or shoot the low life. We’ve canceled hunting public in Utah and Idaho due to thieves. Spend our time and money elsewhere.
I would at least notify the local authorities in that area, I bet you they know who that guy is or can figure it rather quickly. They might show you a photo lineup and if you can identify him they can seek an arrest warrant. That’s what I would do at this point.
Pos like that probably does it all the time. Happy you got your boat back. I'm glad i wasn't in that position. i probably would've sank my boat, then met his tired self at the bank with a gun in his face and law on the phone. The hunts and family trip sound awesome, yall have fun. Thanks for the adventures.
They have a show this weekend in mobile, Al called the Eco Wild hunters expo. I’d love to go, but trying to possibly get a hunt in Indiana. I really hope i can go to Dalton, Ga.
You’re a better man than me, those 2oz #7.5 would have been chambered in mine, sorry that happened to you!! Your adventures are just getting good too!!
Good message. Have been really enjoying your videos and I'm with you on the Subarus. Forrester and an outback in my driveway. Only time I take my truck hunting is when I think it might get too rough. Keep the videos coming.
You are a honest man, for some one to do this to you is very sad, love your videos! If i would have gotten my hands on him he would have had a busted lip anyway 😊
Man hate to hear that! Someone stole a flatbottom from me and their story was water took it away but left the featherlite paddle there where boat was...so his story wasn't adding up..but i got my boat back
@doityourselfhunter9031 yes sir...hate it for your instance but I really like your vids....my thought was exactly as you stated...how did that guy get to your boat really
So he made it to shore and was trying to deflate it so he could pack it up and that's when you caught up to him? I am always worried in the back of my mind especially when hunting the river because if I am on one side, its a LONG ways to anywhere. My trolling motor is transom mount so I take it off and hide it because it would be too easy for someone to pull up and swipe it while Im hunting.
I know it can and does happen in any state, but being I'm from Indiana, that is a complete embarrassment. Unfortunately, it seems the laws more so protect the criminal now days, you did the best thing though staycalm as possible. Truly sorry that happened to you and especially in our state of Indiana. Not sure the area you was but will certainly keep an open ear about this.
A Criminal has more Rights , then the Victim ! He was running away and you would have shot him in the rear end ! I carry concealed and have a permit, I think it's legal for 39 states . It's like the old American Express commercial , Never Leave Home Without It ! I fill naked with out carry concealed !
Hi bud, they seem to think it's there God given right to take anything not bolted down done well controlling yourself not to pepper his Ass, cops would get involved GOOD luck with the grizzlys Pete Australia 👍😉
You did the right thing !! I really don't know if I could have restrained myself. If you shot while they were out in the lake, good chance you would have deflated it. Very difficult situation. I have no time for liars and thieves. That was an awesome turkey
Im a Deputy in South Alabama. Legally you couldn’t shoot him. But I’m not sure I could’ve resisted at 80 yards not dusting his britches and hauling ass to another state. If I had to guess it was likely a meth head “arrowhead hunter”. Never met a meth head that didn’t have a flash light wrapped in electrical tape and a fine collection of arrowheads.
I believe I know where you were and frequent that area often if I’m right there is a prison just down the rd and you probably did the right thing by not catching up to the guy cause you just never know what frame of mind those type of people are in or what they are willing to do to not get caught. Glad you got your boat back and Sorry some idiot from my home state put a bad taste in your mouth. The majority of us Hoosiers are good people and hope you make it back sometime.
That's horrible that someone would steal your boat on you thankfully you caught up with him And he took off I'm sure I would have been hollering stop or I'm going to shoot But it's a good thing you didn't there's a lot of legalities involved 😊 I definitely want to know when that northern Show is I'm sure a bunch of my buddies and I would love to go to it Good luck on your upcoming trip be safe and keep things locked up😊
What’s disheartening about this is: that happened out in God’s country, where each of us are supposed to be sharing a special bond while in these locations. We are supposed to be friends without even knowing each other, greet each other with a smile when we cross paths, etc. Sorry that happened, Jeremy. Thanks for doing what you do. I hope this doesn’t deter you. Keep making a difference.
Me and my father one time was out turkey hunting and decided to not go with all of our gear just go light. I forgot to lock the door on my side of the truck we went into the woods to go chase the turkeys when we got back my turkey vest my father's turkey vest the extra calls that we did not take our decoys and gun cases were stolen. Not a very good day!
There is nothing worse than a thief. You did the right thing man. Generally speaking you can’t shoot anyone in self defense unless you are in fear of death or serious bodily harm. Not worth risking jail time and loosing everything you have, jeopardizing your family over some thief. Another thing to keep in mind since you travel all over hell and creation is, every state looks at self defense differently. For instance here in Virginia outside of the home, there are instances where you must flee until you can flee no further before using deadly force. Something to think about especially since you are traveling.
Some people are just douchebags Jeremy. Glad you got your boat back. I would recommend a heavy duty cable lock. They may still steal it, but it would take a lot more effort.
Sadly, it aint nothing new. Back in the late 70s, I pulled back.into.where Id been camping during deer season. Was a truck.pulled in, a guy walks out from back.side of my tent, pulling up zipper. Im thinking WTH??? He mutters a few words, jumps in truck.and leaves. After a few minutes, I walk over to.tent and see all the stake loops had been cut. Guess he was stealing my ancient, musty canvas tent! I HATE thieves!
Man dont you know he's entitled to your boat if he cant afford one thats what our country has become you did the right thing he wouldn't have got in trouble you would have if you peppered him congrats on a well earned turkey
I can understand knowing yourself and afraid of what you might do but on the other hand, i wouldn't have approached him without a loaded gun because i don't know him or what he might have or do.
What brand of boat do you use? Would you but this one again or would you recommend another for what you do based on you experience up to this point??? Thinkn of going to a spot I may need a similar type boat?
@@doityourselfhunter9031 thank you for info and a quick response. Really like watching your videos. You show it like it happens. Takes alot of work. I respect that.
