Lucy, thanks for another helpful video. As someone who is a natural public speaker, I sometimes cringe at the presentations/speeches given by those that aren't committed to it! I especially love your advice about never using filler words (UGH!) and trying to incorporate stories (and Dylan and your spa managers' advice). I hope everyone here takes your learned advice (and yes, do more like this). Fair winds sweetie!
One reason your videos are so interesting to watch even for someone who is not a potential crew member is that you really follow these advices yourself. Your body language, your self confidence and your obviously well prepared videos - so good.
Excellent points in this video. For anyone on a cruise ship, giving any type of presentation, even helpful for those of us that are making RU-vid videos.
I am going to be an activity host, and I notice you don't speak about them a ton in your videos. I'd love to know what the hours may look like/ what the job is like!
avion, first off, Congratulations on your new job! I assume like most other jobs on-board, it'll be a 7-day/week ~ 70 hours/week...worked in 4 - 8 hour shifts. You may want to look at her interview videos (where she talks with shore excursion staff, hostesses, bar staff, entertainment staff, reception staff, hotel director, etc.) And, you may also wish to send Lucy an email and ask her directly? (I know she get a "ton" of them, so be patient.) I hope this helps? Good luck and Fair winds!
@avionmember101 I'm only telling you what I've heard and the reason why her boyfriend was moved to another ship. She has never explained what happened with her boyfriend in any videos.
@@neil30264 i worked with lucy and her boyfriend onboard disney when they first embarked and i was there till they left. She doesnt need to tell anybody why she left or let go of her job and what happened with her bf.
