Very nice finds. I like nothing better than hunting for pudding stones in Northern Michigan. I live in cheboygan mi with my wonderful wife anna, who loves helping me hunt for them along our county lakes and along Lake superior. God gave us the most beautiful and amazing world... We just gotta make the time to slow our lives down and discover the natural treasures he created for us to find.!.!.!.!. There's so many different natural treasures we can find all over his kingdom. But I can definitely say for Northern Michigan, rock hounding for pudding stones is my favorite.
Having the lake aspect is cool. However I feel rather blessed now that I live in central lower mi. Everywhere I look is farm fields and pudding boulders are everywhere. My collection is outrageous. My wife says I'm insane because I am building an outbuilding comprised entirely from puddingstones.
The pudding stones are interesting but I'd go nuts on this beach! So many beautiful colors, patterns etc . I paint on rocks, but I also love the natural art that nature has made. I look at them & wonder about their history.
It's great to know there are other folks who can look at rocks with keen fascination. I know I'm not alone with that fascination. Your glacial deposits are giant. Ours are gravel to tennis ball sized having ground their way within glacial action to the mid west states far from Michigan. Cheers.
I live on the Oregon coast and don't recall seeing any stones that look like these. I am always on the hunt for agates, which are pretty common. but I do like the red bits on some you found, look very interesting. I am going to subscribe and hope for more videos. thanks.
There are so many beautiful stones, I would not know which ones to leave over there, lol I live (in this case unfortunately) in the Netherlands. Here there is nothing in special kinds of stones.
Nossa tem muita coisa boa aí nessa Praia!! Eu levaria muitas pedras daí, principalmente as verdes!!! SÃO ESMERALDA!!! DEPOIS DE LAPIDADA FICAM LINDAS!!
I've got a couple about twice the size of a basketball..found them in Fowlerville, Mi when I lived there and hunted basically every other day but there also everywhere in rivers etc North of the UP into Canada about 2hrs northeast. It's amazing the size of them...way to.big to pick up by hand
Iiked the video.. All of the pudding stones i get or got. I found while working on the farm.. We have endless stone piles here.. I always stop and look though them.
I'm from Southern Illinois (1.5 hr south of St Louis) we have dirt about 1hr south of me we have red rock that's it! Everywhere I go I bring back rocks I shipped 35lbs back from a river in Oregon I have hundreds of lbs from Current River in Missouri from the dozens of trips I've made over the yrs. OMG you passed over so many I would of picked up, I could fill a semi trailer.
@@erictuthill908 I feel bad for ya, wish I could send you some.we just are so spoiled here. Take them for granted, but never ignore , always looking at who needs to come home and shove in pocket. Dd

i really enjoyed all the treasures of Mi. And seeing y'all find this stone. By now you realize the music was a poor choice, but we all have volume, and should know how to use it. Keep hunting and sharing. ~rad~
The music is powerful, immersive, and beautiful bringing a much more deserved moving experience to something typically left void of in lieu of representation to others. You have to be there to get the feeling the music conveys. Is also argue that the music diversifies and intensifies the interest magnification to a broad full spectrum of personalities, ages, and persons of complexly varied products of their environment. Disappointing to say the least you felt this way kimosabi.
Jim, I am hoping to find this same area on Lake Huron during my vacation July 1-7 at Petoskey State Park. Does this area always have these beautiful puddingstones or are you hunting early in the season before tourists find them? The puddingstones I find at Petoskey have little or no jasper in them, so I am taking one day to come over to Cheboygan to hunt Puddingstones on Lake Huron. Is there a certain road to take to get to this particular beach? Thanks for the video encouragement. Fran
We find nice Petosky stones where I go. These guys must be up around lake Superior. We hunt Lake Michigan shoreline. Its funny because I can spot a Petosky a mile away. I see the pudding stones but consider them mother natures concrete,I generally dont bother with them.
@@lindabower6315 They are the most commonly found in North Eastern side of the lower ppeninsula and the eastern side of the Upper Peninsula. In theory, you can find them them along the whole coast of Lake Huron and Lake Michigan, but the ones you'd find are not as good as the ones in this video are.
I would bet, Lake Superior Shore line mimics this scene verbatim, My father took me and my two brothers every where in Northern Michigan. Thank s, Dad!
Had a puddingstone that marked the head of my grandmother's grave in Petoskey Michigan, some ass came and stole it... she died in 1962 the stone was there last in 1972.
Ty TyVm .. Pudding Stone . now i know its name .. Along the Vermilion river N Illinois theres a huge one W red green & blue . so large it would take heavy equipment to move it ..
Hell we have about 500 pounds of puddingstone from its original source in the algoma country of northern Ontario. Obtained from outcrops and road cuts.
@@jimSP500 yeah we couldn’t help ourselves. Lol. It’s beautiful rock. Makes great garden and yard rocks and if I had a saw large enough it would slab beautifully. I love rock collecting.
Yes the whole area is full of beautiful stones. I have more Stones than I know what to do with it at the moment. As soon as I buy my own house and I can start bringing more home for rock garden
“I have a hobby. I have the world’s largest collection of puddingstones. I keep it scattered on beaches all over the world. Maybe you’ve seen some of it.” - Steven Wright.
Hello guys wow I miss home born and raised in Michigan so Florida for 30 years I want to come home hunt fish hunt for Morales change the seasons fall colors beautiful spring weather God I got to come home he he he God bless and stay well
I have fallen in love with pudding stones you found quite a few with a lot of red jasper in it however can you tell me what the blue is I am not able to find it just wondering. It's okay to talk in your videos and you tell people what you're looking for good hunting
N. Dakota has this rock called scorio ? on the spelling. Its found in large areas and used like gravel etc. It comes in the coolest colors and shapes and mixes and densities. Some like slate, some hard as a rock ... haha well, some sharp like lava edge... I brought a lot home, started working it into art pieces .. then I got sick per Lyme Disease and that was the end of all that neat stuff. You can only cry for so long, then just mitigate all the symptoms and hope to get back part of your life. Cant stop trying, cuz doctors sure are not going to do anything for you.
I have to agree. With CBD. It made me into a poet. If I could get serious. I don’t know if your state has medical cannabis options, but I finally was ok’d by my doctor here in MN. It takes a little while to find the right combination of thc to cbd. But that was up to me to decide because they prescribed a starter pack of various oils, pills, etc. I take it for pain and anxiety. It’s a little spendy but discounts are available. Take care!
okay , now I know if this were a few more years back then this , the two of you wouldn't have been caught dead listening to this stuff . but now look at'cha , just lookat'cha . man you shore have changed . hahahaha lol just kiddin' (but I'm watchin' though)
HI MICHIGAN, aka THE BEST PLACE ON EARTH. 2. OZARKS. If you think those rocks are something, go to the OZARKS. THAT'S WHERE ANGELS GO TO POO. And it's alllllllll BEAUTIFUL.
Just a type of rock. The name derives from true puddings, english puddings, which are boiled in a cloth bag, baked, or steamed. They resemble a dense cake in texture. They have dried and candied fruits mixed in, hence the likeness to the rocks, with all of the inclusions.
@@greciaplovin1296 If I remember correctly, someone once told me about the mythical Mute Button. Supposedly it makes YT videos impossible to hear. I don't know if it was true or not...
