Puerto Vallarta, Mexico is officially one of our new favorite cities in the world! We visited in February 2022. With so many things to see and do, great beaches, and places to stay, we will definitely be back to Puerto Vallarta in the near future!
We flew into Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR), rented our car from City Rental Car, and had a great experience. If we’re being honest, we would love to have a rental property here one day!
In this video, we explore our favorite hidden gems of the Romantic Zone and talk about where to stay and what to eat and do. We plan to continue our annual visit to this wonderful city. Let us know your favorite places in PV!! :)

Went twice last year. Going again June 18th, I know there are places in mexico with better beaches. But vallarta has a charm that hooked me. May even buy a place there soon. I notice you guys fly Southwest? Is that right? Didn't know they flew there.

I’m glad you mentioned about not swimming with the Dolphins in an enclosed area. Dolphins should be free in their ocean not enslaved in a small pool. I agree about the fantastic food choices in town especially the street taco stands.

This was very informative. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together. We're planning our first trip to PV in November. We have an Airbnb booked down in Boca de Tomatlan. It a beautiful secluded villa with its own dock and can only be reached by water taxi. That said, we're looking forward to going into town to explore and try out different restaurants. We fly Southwest all the time. I'd love to know how you convert points from credit cards too. I'm going to check out your food tour recommendation too. That's a great idea. Your baby girl is adorable! She must be such a joy. Happy and safe travels!

We are like you! WE are not all inclusive people and we love immersing ourselves into the culture. WE will be visiting Puerto Vallarta our first time and decided to get a rental car. What type of car rental do you recommend. Do you recommend an SUV if you are traveling outside of puerto vallarta area or down to Mismaloya or diving to do a hike?

Mismaloya is a bit remote from the city given there's a long drive to and from town, so best to live in town and drive outside the town. If you have a car, it's okay; however, some stories about visitors that rent unreliable cars. It's best to drive there in your own car and enjoy visits along the way. I really like Santander Bank for exchanging into Pesos.

Thank you! Great review. Are you able to done specifically on what to book in terms of rental vehicles v. cab v. uber (do they have private car options?) v. transit? I hear many different things from different people so looking for some type of advice. We have six people in our party staying for 10 days so thinking about balancing convenience and cost. Thanks again! We are staying in conchas chinas.
@twoandahalfvoyagers
@twoandahalfvoyagers Год назад
Of course! We use City Rental Car. It is a hole in the wall car rental company, but they have fantastic reviews and are super reliable. They pick you up from the airport and drive you down the road to their location where you pick up your car. There are rental car places at the airport, however we have noticed extremely high prices with them. We have used City rental car 2 times before and we actually have another trip in February with 7 people and are using them to rent a minivan. In regards to cabs and Uber, there are plenty of options for both. The downside to cabs would be language barrier, needing cash and reliability. The downside to Uber would be hoping there are enough drivers in your area at the time you need to be picked up. Since we have always rented cars here, we can only speak from experience in other countries with cabs and Uber. In my opinion, driving in Mexico is super simple, gas is reasonable and it gives you the ultimate freedom if you like to explore :)

@twoandahalfvoyagers 2 года назад
Of course! This is Courtney! There were a few nights when I went out alone a few blocks down to a pharmacy, restaurant or store. There was never a time when I felt unsafe! Traveling solo in general, just always be aware of your surroundings, carry some sort of protection on you if possible (pepper spray, mace, etc) and keep your belongings tight against you in a crossbody bag/fanny pack/money belt. Know where your phone is and make sure it's always charged and you know local emergency numbers! :)

Thanks for the insight! Planning my first trip to Mexico. Would you say I need to know Spanish? What would you recommend in preparation for going ? Peace
@twoandahalfvoyagers
@twoandahalfvoyagers 2 года назад
I wouldn't say you NEED to know Spanish, but it is definitely helpful, and you can tell that the locals appreciate the effort! I would suggest it! We use Duolingo to stay semi-fluent in basic conversation! (hi, how are you, my name is ___, food and drink items, please, thank you, excuse me, where is the bathroom, etc :) )

Hello, May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, & His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin.Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, & the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) & stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
