You and your garden are such good southern hosts, it’s no surprises your hat had a little pollinator guest :) thank you for showing the puffer fish and beyond pink’d. PS I planted 8 beyond Pink’d here in Arizona (zone 9b) this spring and they have thrived even during our month over 110F.

Hi Jenny, I love your garden and watching it as it evolves. I live in south-central Virginia, zone 7a. We have been battling ants for years and have discovered a way to kill the ants in their nests. Mix one part borax with 5 parts sugar, moisten just to crumbly. Let it dry. Place in small plastic containers with lids and poke ant size holes in the sides. (You may have to hide the pm from your dog.) The ant will take the sugar borax mixture back to the nest. When the ants ingest it the borax kills them including the queen.

Love the Caryopteris! I live in Florida and our summers are very wet, do you think it will do well in a pot? I’m thinking in a pot I can move it under my porch and let it dry out if need be.

I love the look of these new plants! Especially the Caryopteris because I have some drier areas. So your Little Lime Punch hydrangeas are in full sun doing okay in late summer? I may need to move a couple of shrubs and am interested in these.

They are! I didn’t get pink blooms this year, but the foliage is extremely healthy.

Hey Jenny, this year I have had more pest in my flowers than ever before. Lots of moth’s, leaf rollers, etc. Should I start with fresh soil in my pots? I don’t know if I brought these pest in when I bought them or what 🤷‍♀️

We use a bait for the ants.

Borax, sprinkled on the mound. Has worked for me every time. Does not hurt plants.

They grew, but I wouldn't say thrive. I think they got put in the ground a bit too late, so I anticipate next year to be better. We are getting some gorgeous blooms off of them now!

@@saras9840 this year we will dig them up but only because we are going to rework that area. From that point on we will leave them in the ground each winter.
