Mel is such a a healing presence. She is truly gifted .

I am a retired dog groomer. I know all the work it took to groom that matted cocker spaniel. He was very well behaved and that truly helped her do her job well. Hi to Mel 👋👍👏 Keep up the good work both of you, Mel and Rocky.

I feel very sorry for Pugsly Rocky, I’m so proud of you and the team for coming to his rescue and taking care of him. I’m also very proud of you and your team for reassuring dogs which are scared I’m so proud of you and your team for being there for dogs in their time of need.

Mel does a fantastic job of calming the dogs she grooms. She is wonderful and you just know she cares about each and every dog she grooms.

When I lost my first dog, I was heartbroken and I wasn’t sure I wanted to get another dog. But my dad said something that I remember. He said humans have individual souls whereas dogs have a collective soul, so all dogs possess the same spirit. Needless to say I ended up adopting two dogs, siblings, and it was the best decision of my life.

These two sisters should not be separated. They need to stay together. 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️

As a long-time dog owner (10 years)- the shaking and the fear in these dogs kill me, and I don't like it when my dog does either. These babies all deserve and I hope they get or got safe homes where they will always be loved, protected, and cared for.

I absutely agree that Mal is a superhero. She has that special touch that just relaxes these anxious furbabies, especially given how much it could hurt to shave those mats.

Mel is so loving with all of the dogs. She seems to know what type of lovies to give each dog. Mel never made a rude comment about the stinky dog. He received lovies too. She gently, and slowly removed the painful mats and restored Teddy to his former beautiful self. What a lovely boy he was as his hair was removed. I thought I were going to adopt the Boxer. Thank you to the shelter for having the night drop off for the dogs and owners who can’t keep their dogs or for those who find a stray. Cheers to all of the volunteers who keep the place running,clean and filled with love and joy and fund raise.

I grew up with Cocker Spaniels, I have such a soft spot for those sweet dogs. I absolutely love that dog. My parents still have two of them. I would take that guy in a heartbeat! He’s absolutely beautiful. Who could treat any animals this awful. Someone paid good money for him, then just abandoned him? It’s unbelievable. I love all the shelter dogs, I wish I could bring them all home. ❤️

I honestly can't get enough of these videos, Rocky. I love seeing you there with the dogs. I love seeing Mel, and meeting the potential families. And best of all, I love to see how your presence does _so much_ for these pups. Watching them come out of their shells, seeing them transform from scared and reserved to happy and energetic is a great form of catharsis. And although you were overjoyed that Greta had a hold, I could tell you were the slightest bit sad not to be taking her home. I agree... Flip was definitely connecting the two of you. ❤

Rocky your work is magical and pure. You convinced me to get a rescue. Her name is Crystal. She’s a pitbull and was used for dog fighting I believe because of all her scars and fear of other big dogs. She is such a good girl. Your work truly makes a difference. Ps the groomer (Mel I believe is her name) is such a beautiful soul. She brings me joy when I see her and her compassion for animals. I would love to start some sort of funding for her so eventually she could retire. You and her both are amazing. I want to donate if you could provide a link for that! ❤️

Greta reminds me of a boxer I rescued I came down the road we live in the country and a truck taking off and after the cloud of dust I saw two dogs the first girl jumped right in the car and Diddy took a while to catch she was so overbred and thin but I will say one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever known I will never regret stopping for them the first girl got an amazing home Diddy stayed with us. She was an amazing dog. People are awful sometimes

Greta reminds me of my Frenchie Rhodes when he came to us as a foster. He was skinny and covered in scratches, full of energy, and the sweetest, most loving pup I could've ever asked for. We lost our oldest, a Viszla named Kona, the the end of the same year we got him and he really helped me during that time, especially because our other dog was so upset about Kona's passing. I moved away from both my dogs recently (they are with my family and I left for university) and I miss them so much but I know that dogs like Greta will do the same for others as Rhodes did for my family. I love the work you do and I can't wait until I can provide for a dog myself.

That pug's story is incredibly sad. How could someone discard an animal as if it were a piece of trash like that. That person doesn't deserve to have a dog. I really hope that sweet family gets to adopt him instead. You almost made me cry sitting with Greta, reminded me of Flip too. 🙂

Rocky, you have such a kind and caring heart. I love how you patiently help the dogs overcome their fears and come out of their shells. Many of these poor animals have been through hellish situations. Just being discarded by the family they love is traumatic enough. Many have also been horribly abused. It is amazing they are able to overcome all of that and move forward with their lives. I can't even walk into a shelter. All of the dogs sound like they are screaming for help and it breaks my heart. I love animals, and have rescued many, but can't have one because of health issues. I am so thankful for wonderful animal lovers like you and the shelter workers, who show these babies the love and compassion they desperately need. It is amazing how much better they feel after a good grooming. They even hold their heads higher and stand taller. I love your videos. God bless you always. 🙏❤️😍❤️🙏

I have an American Cockerspaniel and seeing Teddy in that state hit me so so hard. My own boy is a rescue and the best choice I have ever done in my life. I think we saved each other.

Awe poor baby who would do such a thing?😢 my heart just rips out of my chest this is truly heartbreaking.

It breaks my heart, how awful some people are treating these sweet creatures. I adopted two sisters twelve years ago, also thrown away like trash. Best decision I made to take both and I love them with all my heart.. A year ago I inherited a twelve year old cat, that has never been outside of the apartment she lived in and would not let anybody touch her. She was fed a LOT, but not petted. It was a challenge. But my three girls accept each other now, the cat has turned into a heavy smoocher and lays on me to sleep. Life is harmony and as good as can be.

Mel is a star! Working with anxious dogs is not easy, and you can see she really knows how to build their confidence. And I would take Teddy home in a heart beat if I could.

I just came across this post on RU-vid and you mention that a dog behind bars may/does act differently when brought into a meet and greet room. This is so true. I met Trixie first with her snarling and wanting to eat me in her enclouser but the Humane staffer suggest she bring her to me. As soon as they brought her into the meet/greet room she came over to me and jumped up into my lap. That sixty pound Pitty now is snuggled against me on the couch while we watch TV! I love all the rescue dogs I have lived with over the past 60 years.

So glad for pugsely that he's been adopted..Just hoping for him to have a good life ahead..

Love your work with shelter dogs, showing the way, have always had one puppy mill rescue, needed extra help, now wheelchair and bed bound MS 22 yrs, have little fuzzy terrier 7 lbs now. Got during shutdown, best friend and keeps squirrels away. Your channel makes me feel like I'm out there still rescuing, Thank you 😢
